I hate when I log out and back in. Yup, the garbage text will fill in the password field at times. This bug is extremely annoying.

[/ QUOTE ]THAT explains why that's happened to me on occasion!

I don't hit the bug often enough that I made that connection. Thanks!

No one liked the idea of being able to get a Shivan ONCE (per character) outside of PvP? Let us find out just how powerful they are, and we might be more inclined to brave the PvP zone to get them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How about you brave the PvP zones once and get one yourself so you can find out how powerful they are?

Seriously. Bloody Bay is completely devoid of players... and any you find are probably just as scared of PvP as you are and will probably avoid you.

Heck, if you're on virtue, hit me up with a message and i'll ESCORT you and keep your butt safe from all the non-existent players just so you can see how completely dull it is getting a shivan.

    [/ QUOTE ]Made me chuckle!

    Here we go.

    Exhibit A
    Exhibit B
    Exhibit Three

You can see how the right shoulder clips through itself and how the left one is too high up. Tank Armstrong looked way better with the original.

I wanted to show the saved template I have showing the old design, but apparently the creation screen is camera shy.

[/ QUOTE ]FWIW, you have to do Costume Creator screen shots "old school":

Hit PrtScrn as normal, then go into an image editor, paste and save. If you're using Paint, just hit Paste, and save as JPG. In Photoshop, create a new document (it'll provide dimensions to fit), Paste, Flatten, and save as JPG. (I'm afraid those are the only ones I'm familiar with.)
  4. It's hard enough to get people to drop the difficulty even one notch, no matter how poorly the team is handling the current difficulty, because "OMG, we won't be getting the max XPs!!!". Never mind that you aren't getting any XP when you're waiting for people to rez and to come back from the hospital.

Do this and it'd be "OMG, no, we'd lose Merits!!!". Never mind that you don't get ANY merits if you can't finish the TF/SF.

Leave it based on mean completion time (and it is mean, not average). Run your TFs on Heroic and run more TFs in the same amount of time.

While I agree that it would be better if it were given to us free, objecting to it because the price is "too much for some people to afford" is just ridiculous.

If you can afford to pay $180 per year to play the game, you can come up with $10.

If you can come up with the larger upfront amount to pay in advance, you can come up with $10.

If your parents (or someone else) are paying for your subscription, then just ask them if you may purchase this expansion when it comes out, for $10.

If they object, then ask them what you can do to earn the $10.

Or do something to come up with the money yourself. Take some old games you don't play to a game store. Take a bunch of old comics to the comic store. Rinse and save the cans and bottles from the soda/whatever you drink at home, and redeem them/recycle them. Collect the family newspapers for a couple months, and take them to a recycling center. Have a yard sale (if you're a kid, approach your parents, first, of course).

Nowadays, $10 just isn't that much.

    Still Wings

I keep hoping for a tech wing/jet pack that doesn't flap, and folds/retracts when you land, alá Buzz Lightyear, et al.

It could be done with the current code by just making every frame of the "flap" animation would just be the animation of the jets and lights.

I hoped it would be with the Tech Booster, until I found out that was the Cyborg pack.

Then I hoped it might be with the Science Booster, but it doesn't look like it.

Ah, well, maybe with the Natural Pack.

Heh. I never noticed anyone using an "A". A good example of "we sometimes see what we expect to see, not what's actually there".

Dominant genes would result in only about 50% of the off-spring being part-cat... and that 50% would be divided up between the cat-boys (which apparently only rarely survive past infancy) and cat-girls, meaning only approximiately 25% of the Catgirl's off-spring could be other Catgirls!

Unless estimates of Catgirl's fertility have been greatly underestimated, those numbers would suggest that such populations are impossible to sustain purely by Dominant genes!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not impossible, just unlikely. It would require a minimum of 4 kids per family.

    [/ QUOTE ]
No, that'd merely sustains a population, excluding outside influences. With all the catgirls that don't have off-spring, get run over by buses, die piloting giant mecha, get sold into slavery, or lose their life due to illnesses, that number raises up to 16 kids per family!

Now, when we also factor in how quickly the population is growing, that number raises up to an impressive 64! Also, based on our projections, not only is the birthrate increasing, but the growth of the birthrate is increasing as well! Based on the best estimates science can deliver, by the end of next year we'll be knee deep in Catgirl offspring!

    [/ QUOTE ]

You forgot one, "Every time you try to drag real physics into a discussion about a fantasy story, God kills a catgirl."

Theres also, "When x happens, God kills a catgirl".

The spores theory must be correct.

[/ QUOTE ]Dragging in more real-world science:

Parthenogenesis is also bad because it does nothing to support genetic diversity.

My vote is extra-uterine gametic recombination.

(But I like the spores theory.)

  16. What was the release date of the patch or whatever that removed the exploit we came to know and love as MEOW Farms?

A link would be preferred, so I can try to figure out how I could have found it in my search attempts.

I was actually relieved to see them NOT there the last few Mayhems I ran.

I don't mind them overall since I know they're going to occur, but I have a problem with them on two specific points:
    <snip>

    2) Ambushes target Masterminds and TOTALLY ignore the pets. Yes, I know that if you have them on follow/defense you still have a better than average chance of survival, but still.. it's that darned Logic thing again...

"Okay men, take 'em out! NO! Not the giant menacing robots who are shooting laser beams of death at us! Take out the small scientist-looking dude behind them.. yeah... the one with the coke-bottle glasses and the comb-over. He's putting shields on the robots while hiding in a corner... he MUST be dangerous!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

... how does that *not* make sense? Destroy the command/control center, watch the rest fall apart. Going after an anti-aircraft site? You don't go after the guns/missiles first, you hit the radar. Starting to invade? Take out the communications centers and any HQ you know of. Remove the commander, watch the troops become less effective or coordinated. Command and control is a far more important target. In the case of the mastermind, that target is *you.*

    [/ QUOTE ]
See.. I was in the Marine Corps.. and they didn't train us to NOT shoot the guys shooting at us and only shoot at the Captain behind them.

Sure, I understand the concept of shooting the control board for an automated system... but if 6 thugs are shooting at me and one isn't.. hmmm... I think I may very well want to eliminate the ones sending lead down range first.. and maybe buy the pacifist a nice meal and a thank you card afterwards..

    but that's just me

[/ QUOTE ]But if you know that taking out the Captain or the "pacifist" will cause all the others to stop attacking and go away, THEN which one are you going to shoot at?

    Changing Origins

I'll admit I skimmed, but I didn't see my interpretation of the Mutant/Tech/Science debate:

You all nailed Tech vs. Science: If you wouldn't have the powers without the science continually supplying them, it's Tech. If the science gave you the powers, but they're now inherent, it's Science.

Mutant means you were born with whatever difference from the norm gives you your powers. If you weren't born with that difference, you're not Mutant.

Of course, ultimately, it's all personal opinion.

As far as the OP, the only origin choice I've ever regretted was the one and only time I took Science.

I have a cat. I already deal with more puke than I want to.

Currently an AR/Dev Blaster, but I'm thinking of retconning him.

I have found some good names using different mythologies. Need a name for an electric blaster? How about the storm god from the Polynesian pantheon? Others I take forever to get a decent name. I had an Ice/Ice blaster I just didn't play much because his name sucked (It was so bad I can't even remember what it was. ) I finally gave him the name Chilly Death and he is fun to play. Now I am resisting the temptation to create a Fire/Fire blaster with the name Chili Death.
