  1. I would like to point out that beast summoning is thinking too small.

I want dinosaurs. T1 pet, Velocipedes. T2 pet I have no idea. T3 pet, a T-Rex. I don't care about realism! Do a Jurassic park on em! I shall not be happy until my pets chow down on Hellions.

But how about this? Reflection summoning. Summoning aspects of your personality.

  3. Another great read! I'm now tempted to break out my old MM. Bots/time.
  4. OK, lots of people are still complaining about MoM, but when done right, this can be a very easy trial.

-You are gonna need heals and rezs to do this. Unless you have the biggest revive and a break free, wait until someone else rezs you.

    - If you are gonna revive, wait until you are in a storm void so you don't get WTF pwned by the psi damage.

    - Oranges! They can help with purple patches and with the psi damage in the storm. They last for 90 seconds. That should keep you going until you begin to get constant eye of the storms.

    - Always have someone pulling the eye of the storms to you. Even if you don't get Yin in them, you can have your squishies stand in them and avoid the psi damage.

-Move Yin. The center of the room seems to be the best place for her to get storm voided. Once she is where you want her, box her in.

-Purple patches. Watch the timer and move well out of range.
  5. I've had an idea.

    Devourer
Kheldian's get their power from team mates. You get your power from your enemies. Works a bit like a cross between a tanker aura and a kheldian buff. The more enemies around you, and according to their powers, you receive a buff. For example, if you have 2 people with empathy type heal powers and 4 with big dps abilities like a blaster you get a moderate regen bonus and a high damage bonus.

-Primary: Damage with some control effects, think corrupter powers
-Secondary: A single set with kinetics type debuffs that give the team AoE buffs.

    Destroyer.

More blaster than scrapper. Nothing can stand up to a destroyer. The primary set is blaster primaries, but converted into melee attacks (basically shortened range). The secondry is scrapper defensive powers. Main focus on big AoE damage. The inherent gives a smallish vengeance type buff for each enemy defeated.

I dunno why I posted this. I guess just to get them off my chest.
  6. So! I've got T4 fully on all my mains. I'm now in the stage of farming and spending whatever extra items I get on random stuff just cause.

So why not give us something to spend our salvage on beyond new iTrial powers.

So my idea was temporary powers. Lore wise, you are temporarily strengthening your connection to the well to gain more power. Or maybe Promethius is lending us his strength, like he does when we join an open league.

So, these powers work in iTrials, and work for a max of 2 hours (using a VR component) down to 30 minutes (using just commons). We can also have some temporary attack powers, maybe using uncommons only.

Here are just some examples, sorry I couldn't come up with names:

2 hour buff to defence and recharge of 10% while in iTrials.

A copy of Statesman's lighting powers with 25 uses

A 1 use self rez ability with immunity to damage for 10 seconds (make MoM a little easier).

A healing aura for allies with a small bit of res bonus

Now, the way I see it, the pluses of these are.

    • They could make the trials more accessible earlier on with res bonuses and immunity after rez.
    • They might work thematically, making us seem more power, which as I understand is a major complaint
    • Something to spend extra incarnate salvage on
    Downsides
    • Hard to code
    • maybe hard to balance
But it is just an idea I had, what do you guys think?
  7. Rather then have it on a 50 badge, I would rather it was spread out over the badges from level 10-50.
  8. So, I've been playing at normal levels (+0, x1) on my crab spider and well...got a bit bored.

So I knocked the difficulty right up and still it was pretty easy but more fun! Then I did an ITF at high difficulty, I ran off, scrapper locked my way to rescue 3 sybils.

Then people started talking about soloing ITF and GMs and I thought. Yeah, that sound pretty cool, bragging rights and all that. Why don't I give it a shot?

So now I'm looking for GM/TF soloing guides. I've tried searching, but I don't get anything recent.

I kinda know some of the tricks, like envenomed dagger and stuff, but if there are any guides or tricks to soloing a GM/TF on a crab spider?

    Not really.
Why only have double normal xp when you can have double and a bit normal xp?

    Retool the Nukes

Yeah, I actually dropped my nuke on my corrupter because it wasn't enough bang for my buck and I rely on toggles a lot.

I would drop the end cost to 75%. Make the damage/accuracy increase to become autohits. You are firing a huge blast, everything is gonna get hit.

Or, add a new IO set for nukes. Maybe the proc can be 100% recovery buff so you have a chance to retain your recovery.

And making the powers look more nukish. Big blasts and bolts and explosions.
  11. Depends what you want.

In my build, without any purples and hasten, I can have softcap or just under, and perma spiderlings. It is also on the cheap.

    Want to see it?
  12. When you guys are working out AoE and debuffs what do you do?

Is it just increase the damage by 2.5 for AoE?
  13. OK. Comparing. Single Shot/Burst beat Longfang/Chaingun. They do more damage. Apply the same debuff. Are slightly more accurate and refresh just as fast. Burst's debuff also lasts 3 seconds longer.

Bayonate also does more damage than slice, but doesn't apply the defence debuff.

Redraw wise, I don't know how it will effect you, but it looks to me that the gun attacks do more damage.

So if you were gonna go chain gun/long fang, it would be look reasons. However, channel gun does energy damage, which I think is a rarer type of damage to resist. Also the accuracy doesn't really matter once you get slotting.

My advice would be work out your attack chain, so if you are gonna take toxic or frag, work out when in the chain you will use them to lower redraw.

Edit: PS This is the 1000th thread in this forum. A milestone!
  14. But there will still be redraw between burst/single shot and suppression.

Oh? I thought it was you could start the line at 35 but only finish it at 40. Or am I confusing it with something else? I remember someone saying, and me agreeing, that it wasn't fair we didn't get our mastery pools at 35 is all.

    Thanks for correcting me.
  16. I'm bumping this because it is in a similar theme, rather than make a new thread but opening it up to all SoA's. What changes would you make to SoA's in general.

    I'm thinking:
    Colourable lasers
    More options for assault rifles/claws.
Unlocking patron pools at 35 rather than 40 (as I recall).
The ability to use trenchcoats with crab backpacks (bolos work and they flow behind you a bit like capes)
More uniform options (for example, more eye coverings like sonic vision for Widows).
The ability to remove the crab backpack while in bane spec or huntsman or whatever (maybe a clickable toggle to hide backpack when it isn't used)
Some kind of intro arc before going into the meat and potatoes stuff, maybe the last day of boot camp or attacking galaxy city for Lord Recluse.
Ability to remove arachnos symbols from the crab backpack.
Some Arachnos themed costume changes or auras, like the Khelds have.
Options for the backpack, like maybe Lord Recluse style arms or bladed ones.

I know a lot of this stuff I kinda stupid appearance stuff or would require redone animations but for me it would make a difference and I can dream!
  17. I've noticed something in a lot of good CoH videos is effective use of inspirations.

For me, I hit off the odd purple to help keep my defences high in iTrials. Greens when I need a bit of a health boost. Reds when soloing SSA to make it go faster. Sometimes blues for a bit of power when I did and break frees whenever I have stuns/confuses/holds on me.

So when do you use inspirations and when and do you have any advice on when and where to use them? Or if any inspirations work well with any power sets or ATs especially?
  18. Many changes to be made, from what I've seen. But what is your play style/aim? DPS, tanking, survivability?
  19. Slot it and we will tell you where you go wrong etc

I mean account wide to allow you to get other toons to 50 faster.

Another MMO I played gave 20% xp bonus per character at cap with a maximum of 200%. Probably wouldn't work in CoH, but the xp boosts given free might.

Or I had an idea for temp powers every 10 levels. At level 1 you have a ranged attack. At level 10 the choice between a melee or ranged attack. Level 20, a small debuff. Level 30, a small self buff, level 40 single target long recast teleport or self teleport (I'm thinking to things like Wentworths or the zone entrances in a zone), level 50, a notice of the well freebie for VIPs (help with some of the iTrial problems), and a temp power. Something to show that the city has rewarded you or you've taken something powerful for yourself.

    New ATIO proc

I think the new proc has been changed to a -damage and terroize proc from the wiki. I need to check in game.
  22. How about a single xp boost or a slightly weaker one?

    Crab Build?

I dunno why you went for pummel and burst, when I find suppression to be superior and lack the redraw. Try and focus on positional defence. You can get 6.25% recharge from 5 slots in all your AoE's, meaning you can save a slot on omegabomb (PS the taunt in omegabomb does nothing)
  24. Fine, but you have to coach me on how to be awesome like you. Right?
