  1. If kid ends up helping you out, I'll probably be there with one of my many defenders.

    We'll get you that badge.

    You're right. The pet will only inherit up to +300% damage, and if you three-slot it for damage, it will only benefit from a buff up to about ~200%. One application of Fulcrum Shift should cap it.

    When it comes to Archery or Trick Arrows being mixed with other sets, I never even think of redraw anymore because both sets are so ridiculously fast compared to how they used to be. It wasn't that long ago that Entangling Arrow was the only power in TA that took less than 2.67 seconds to animate, and Archery wasn't much better.

    That's actually the PvP numbers, the PvE value is -5 (or -500%).

    Oldish thread, but just wanted to say that the debuff procs (lady grey and clouded senses) will have a chance to go off every 10 seconds, but the lockdown proc will only have one chaance. This is because the debuffs and the hold are caused by two different pets, and while the debuff pet's power goes off every 0.2 seconds, the hold pet's power only goes off once every 9999.99 seconds.

    Granted, you wouldn't get AoE Sap until the end of your career just about...
    Sure, but the Defender version of Power Sink is at twice the recharge of the Blaster version. The Blaster will be killing faster, sapping faster, and will be draining the same amount as the Defender, so if sapping is what someone is interested in, the Blaster will be the better choice until the Devs remember that we're supposed to be better at Endurance Drains.
  7. Kin/Elec will drain a boss very fast (instantly, in fact), but for AoE Sapping, Elec/Elec Blasters or Elec/Energy Blasters will be the better option.

    We'll have to agree to disagree.
  9. I use it all the time just as a debuff! Sometimes, on the final mission of the ITF, the sound effect makes people think Rom is rezzing. I don't do it on purpose. Maybe. Teehoo.

    I was gonna post Repulse, but was searching the thread just in case. I couldn't believe it took this long for someone to mention Repulse.

    I have it on my /EA Stalker, because my build was finished before 49, so I thought "You know what will be funny?" It would be even funnier if it had a cool "Sproing!" sound effect, but alas. I mean come on! It makes you look like a siren going off! Hilarious on a Stalker!

    Edit: Oh, and Entangling Arrow is crap.
  12. Didn't get much in this weekend.

    Pistols/Pain Corruptor 1 -> 25
    Pistols/Rad Corruptor 1 -> 22
    Pistols/Mental Blaster 1 -> 23

    And that was it.
  13. Playing FFXIII right now. I can't not play Final Fantasy games, even though I might not like them all.

    I played FFXI for like 2 hours once, bleugh. And FFXII I played about 1/4 through, but I really didn't like the combat in that game, so I'm sure I missed a great story there.

    I've played and enjoyed most of the rest (and there'll always be a special place in my heart for FF9), including the Tactics(<3) and Crystal Chronicle spin-off games.

    Surprisingly... I've never played FF7.

    I skipped Slash on my Brute (again, don't like that animation), but thought it wouldn't be so bad because I could drop the Achilles Heel proc in the Brute Eviscerate.

    But alas. I never noticed I hadn't used it in my Mids build, so I didn't know till after I took it that you can't enhance that Defense Debuff.

    But I like Eviscerate, anyway, so I didn't mind. Still, wish we could put that proc in there.

    Good Bye

    What will become of our love?

    I miss you already.
  16. Well I would never tell someone they should skip Slash, but I can't stand that animation.
  17. Then I don't know what to tell you. This just seems like a perception problem you have.

    Think about this: The difference in raw damage between Soaring Dragon, a ST attack, and Spin, an AoE attack, is about 14 points of damage at level 50. Meanwhile, Spin can hit 10 foes at once, but costs less endurance and recharges in almost the exact amount of time as Soaring Dragon (Spin is 0.2 seconds longer recharge).

    Edit: And if you're asking me, I take Swipe and Strike and skip Slash, because I hate the animation.

I can see it will probably get better if you spend a few billion on fully setting it out, but just on IOs something just doesnt seem right.

    Especially if i play that then switch over to my katana/SR or fire/fire scrappers it just makes me feel a bit feeble lol.

    Im starting to think its just me thats cursed to not be able to play claws lol.
    My Claws Scrapper doesn't have a single IO in her build.

    Did you skip Spin, or something?

    And I can see some hate on the animation of Eviscerate, but not the damage. It doesn't do that much less than Golden Dragonfly (only about 18 points less at 50), can hit more foes easily, and recharges in only about 2/3s the time that GD does.
  19. Wha...? My Claws Scrapper tears through enemies faster than any other character I have.

    What other sets have you tried that Claws seems worse than?
  20. I smell BO. *sniffs armpit* And it's not me!

    Poison: A Primer

    Recharge times are calculated by dividing their base value by 1 + buff or debuff values.

    So an attack that recharges in 10 seconds with 100% +Recharge is: 10 / ( 1.0 + 1 ) or 5 seconds.

    An attack that recharges in 10 seconds under a 65% -Recharge is: 10 / ( 1.0 - 0.65 ) or 28.57 seconds.

    Is this not how it works? Because that's a heck of a lot more than 33% longer recharge.

    Poison: A Primer

    Stylish little headers, there.
  23. Traps is still a good set. And Poison Trap is still a good power. I still use it to toebomb, and still feel very safe when I do. I honestly haven't changed my playstyle very much since the bug it had was fixed. I think the major difference was that I dedicated slots in Poison Trap to Hold duration for that initial Hold which only has to pass a 75% tohit roll to take effect.

    I still run in and drop Poison Trap, Acid Mortar and then Trip Mine. If something isn't held by Poison Trap, I still have FFG to help me avoid getting hit long enough to finish setting up my Trip Mine, and Acid Mortar holds enemy aggro away from me very well.

    My AR/Traps has been the Alpha taker on many all Corruptor SFs, even after the change to Poison Trap. I honestly feel that anyone that thinks Traps is horrendously underpowered after a change to a single power in the set is probably just too upset to enjoy the set anymore. I still enjoy it, and I'm really struggling to decide whether I want to reroll my AR/Traps as DP/Traps (for concept purposes, lolz) or keep both, because I really like Traps.

    And if anyone thinks maybe I'm just biased because I like the set, they should see how I feel about Trick Arrows, another set I love.
  24. I miss BadStorm. I know other people had issues with her, but we were cool.

    I suspect Chilling Embrace is 90% of the problem, like I said. If there is one. I can see Chilling Embrace replaced with something like Artic Fog, though, a stealth shield (since Brutes get two Sets with stealth in them) and a -Dmg debuff to all foes around them. The -Dmg would reduce the incoming damage, providing an equivalent protection to the -Recharge, but without effecting incoming attacks in such a way as to reduce Fury.

    I say add stealth because +30% Resistance to everything in one power would be REALLY powerful. (And that's essentially what a -30% Dmg debuff is) -10 or -15% should be fine, though.
    Chilling Embrace was only like 2%, the other 98% was in Ice Melee: the slows on nearly every Ice Melee attack, the perma-knockdown of Ice Patch, the second highest damaging attack in the set being a Hold, and the tier 9 that, at the time, only put enemies over and over again.

    Ice Armor was just a victim of being thematically paired to a Melee set that was the worst set for generating Fury. Maybe Ice Melee wasn't horrible at it, like some people tend to exaggerate it having been claimed to be, but it apparently lagged far enough behind the other sets for someone to take notice.
