I've heard A LOT of people asking how the 1st place winner's costume was best, it had almost no imagination or effort put into it (two-tone brownish tights?) when so many BETTER ones only got honorable mention. I was there...and left scratching my head trying to figure that one out. If you need to ask which one was better...pick one from the honorable mention list and its a safe bet. I was sorely disappointed in the apparent lack of objectiveness in the judging, someone even asked me if the winner was a member of AL (Alt) or a friend of one of the judges...of course I couldn't say one way or the other. Talk about being left with a bad taste in your mouth! It makes me glad I was only there because, someone asked me to go watch it. This was the first AND last AL event I will attend...bet on it.
I guess even CoH has its own brand of politics...Oh well, whatever. >_>

There is less than a week left to submit Christmas themed arcs for December's contest! If no entries are submitted by December 23 at 23:59 Eastern time there will be no contest until January.

I think the impromptu contests have gone away for the reasons stated and also there are always multiple Atlas Parks now; so you have to be in the right one to even notice that a contest is starting. I would suggest joining the global channel Virtue CCs to help you be aware when a contest is being put on.
If you peruse this forum you will find there are several contests held weekly; The American Legion and Hero Dawn run them every week and I know there are other groups that sponsor them as well blueside. Some of those blueside contests are themed so it is a good idea to read up on their respective forum threads to make sure you fit the theme on a given night. On redside; the American Legion's VG The Praetorian Legion hosts Friday night CCs and the VG THUGS also have a weekly CC; there may be other redside groups that hold regular contests as well but I am not familiar with them off hand.
In addition there are occasional events sponsored by various super groups that almost always include Costume Contests. The Winter Gala being sponsored today (December 17) by The Cape Radio includes many events including a costume contest by Kindred Nocturnis. Check out their forum for all those details as well.

I listen to The Cape everyday....so you could say I am infected with some type of virus that keeps me coming back to their website and station? Evil!
As for the person that was shouting the slander...I think they must have found their way onto my ignore list some time ago because someone told me what was going on and I had no record of it even though it was going on during our costume contest. Suffice it to say there is no problem with The Cape's website and everyone should go there and tune in! -
