Quote:Ew, blaster? I think I've played one of those. ... Ok, I'll look into it.I would suggest a psy, fire, sonic or rad with em blaster as a starting hero.
Oh? I read that somewhere else, too. Don't suppose you would mind elaborating on that a little bit, would you? ... I'm afraid I might already have developed them. When I pvp'd in roflwow, it was always as a melee character. I realize the pvp isn't the same here, but you know. If this kind of stuff has been listed before, I'll go look for it.
Quote:From what i understand and have seen shields are only really viable on tanks since they can can build for a truckload of ranged defense and can cap hp as well.
Thanks for feedback. Gives me somewhere to start. -
So, this morning I accidentally pvp'd.
I liked it a LOT. Want moar nao... but my main is a Fire/Shield/Blaze Scrap, designed to farm PvE.
Short story long:
Has anyone made good use of Fire/Shield/X scrappers in PvP?
I can't find a decent Fire/Shield/X build (and I'm MidTarded).
Should I just go ahead and roll a blahblah/Regen/somethingoranother scrapper or something else all together? Cuz, you know, PvP sucks when you're dead. I died a LOT this morning.
----EDIT----
Any opinions/advice would be greatly appreciated. Even if it's to tell me to uninstall the game and format my HD, then burn the computer. -
I had this happen to me a lot when I first came back to the game. It was quite frustrating, I agree. Then, one day I just happen to be looking around in my computer files, and found a list of my characters, and what server they were on.
So, typically the game is installed into
C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\
There's a folder in here with the name of your account. Lets pretend your account name is "superherobob".
The path would look like this:
C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\superherobob\playerslot.txt
The text you can read will have your characters, what server they're on, and what position slot (Like, position 0 will be the top slot, 1 will be the second, etc). For the most part, it will point you in the right direction of where you were.
Example:"AccountName" "Server" "CharacterName" "Position In Selection Screen"
***Don't ever share the actual account name info.***
"superherobob" "Infinity" "Bob the SuperDuper" "2" <---A character you should be able to play.
"superherobob" "ÝÝÝÝÝøS¤¹" "Bob the OtherSuper" "0" <---A character you deleted or renamed or something.
If you are handy with excel, you can even import it, and list them all out. Then sort and such so you can keep track of them. I've never done this.
Anyhow, hope it helps some. Good luck finding your toons! -
Having almost built this exact same base 3 times now, if not functional, it's pretty darn cheap... and while definately not as streamlined as Bubblegums (very, very nice, by the way), it seems to flow nicely.
Built on a 12X12 plot and costing just over 2 million prestige:
-
You will get back all the spent prestige. The only time you will "lose" anything, is when you craft base items... and in that case, you'd lose the components needed to make the item. Like a telepad, for example.
-
1) To move the position, select "Upgrade Plot". Then, Select the 0 cost plot, and place it where the "Entrance Portal" room is in the center, and not in a corner.
2) Place the item you want to "rotate" as normal. Then, once it's placed, right click. It will move 90 degrees.
3) There's several cool videos posted by Stacker - See the links in his Profile : http://boards.cityofheroes.com/member.php?u=361647 -
I came back to this game about 3 months ago, and found myself SGless. I was a little more than disappointed, since I had accumulated some 2-3 million prestige for my 5+ toons (3 of them I took from 1-50 in this SG). So, I decided I was not going to have this happen to me again.
I did as mentioned above, where I invited all my toons I could into my own personal SG, for the free prestige. Then, I took my level 50 Plant/Kin Controller and farmed, and farmed and farmed the Demons! AE mish. The AE tickets, I traded in for stacks upon stacks upon stacks of Rare salvage, and sold each stack for about 20ish million a pop. I then traded every penny I could find into Prestige. This produced a little over 2.2million prestige in just under a month of play. With 2.2 million prestige, I was able to create a base with all 22 teleporters, a large workshop for crafting, a small workshop room for extra salvage, a med bay with 2 rez tables, and some various storage facilities for enhancements/inspirations/vault stuff.
After I was done with my base, I then created a new toon to try to farm with, but I had turned my second account off temporarily. So, I didn't get my new farming toon into my SG... so I created a second SG (which I later coalied to the first one). From level 10-50 with the right AE mishes, I was able to level this guy (Fire/Shield Scrapper) - SOLO - from about level 15 on at +4/+0. By doing so, he created a second SG with just over 600,000 prestige. PLUS he had just shy of 500 million influence from selling salvage. This took right around 2 weeks.
Hope some of this helps, and definately good luck. I don't know why everyone doesn't have their own SG's now that they've made it affordable. -
Quote:I don't have much to offer, but I will go ahead and give you my first born. Free leg humpings can also be arranged. So, I apologize for the delay in getting these back up.
However, they're all available now.
http://unbidden.fantasyalternative.org is the address.
If they're no longer on the front page when you get there, go to the downloads directory.
And yes, I know my website needs to be finished. I'm working on it.

I have something similar to what you're asking about, but I wanted all the teleporters, too. It was a pain in the rear to try to keep track of it all so I built a database to track costs and names and types and stuff... I'm going to save you some trouble. And also, I'm sorry to double post some of what Pyber already listed.
Notes:
A base can ONLY have 18 "Storage" bins (IE Salvage, enhancement, inspiration, or vault).
Oh, and a correction to the above note, a Salvage Storage can hold 30 items.
I wanted to have every salvage possible in my base, so here's how I broke them down.
There are 36 Common, Uncommon and Rare salvage. Each one is listed past all my notes with the name in alphabetical order, then the type (Arcane or Tech), and the level range you would find them (1 - low, 2 - medium, 3 - high).
So, 36 Common Salvages @ 5 of each = 180 Salvage
Each bin holds 30, so 180 / 30 = 6 bins
36 Uncommon, same math as above = 6 more bins
36 Rare = 6 more bins. This totals 18 "storages", but this does not leave room for the enhancement tables, or the vault.
So, I did 1-2 of each Rare, and only have 2 bins for Rare salvage. 18 in one, and 18 in the other.
Now, that totals 14 Storages - all salvage, leaving room for 1 Vault, 2 enhancement tables, and 1 extra (I did inspiration).
So, the costs:
Oversight Center 50000
Combo Unit 25000
2X2 Workshop Room 100000 (These can only have 9 Storage items per room)
Vault 100000
Enhancement Table 95000

I'm pretty new to base building, so if there's a better way, I'm sure someone will post it... but what I did, was place a Cubicle, then place a wall torch on the Cubicle wall. Delete the Cubicle, now, attach your wall item to the wall torch. It takes some finagling, but the wall item rotates on the torch at odd degrees.

Quote:I like your TP idea. I am going to do something similar though I dont want to copy your exact design but it does look amazing. I was thinking of maybe stacking two teleporters on top of each other allowing for more star fields.
I will post some pics tonight.
I tried double stacking tech teleporters, and it doesn't seem to work. The top of the tech teleporter is too bulky and overlaps the terminal to select your destination. However, the arcane teleporters doublestack nicely (see my pics here or just a pic of them).
If you happen to get the tech teleporters to stack would you mind posting some pics? I'd rather use them as I can't stand the pink glow of the arcane ones.
