I was looking into doing an electric melee/regen scrapper. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this powerset being as new as it is. With DXP weekend around the corner I am looking to build a scrapper. I need a /regen for PvP. I currently have a 50 spines/regen I just cant bring myself to spec out (spend 3Bill + on what I should say....) but I really do want a scrapper to add to the PvP stable. I know Elec Melee is phenominal in PvE (my main farmer since I16 has been switched to my Elec/Shield brute) but was wondering if it had the damage for PvP. I had really considered an Elec/FA scrapper, but it just wouldnt be able to compete with regen. I try to get as close to FotM as possible without being 100% FotM if that makes sense. My only other thoughts for a new melee pvP toon have been Kat/FA or Kat/Inv scrapper, or a SS/FA brute. I do still need a brute for Pvp as well, but havent built a hero in a little while. Plus I have a little more money stashed away blueside. I have seen several Inv builds do fairly well and even considered something like DM/Inv brute or scrapper. But, I will probably go with the Elec/regen if it gets good feedback. So, any experience with Elec out there?. I would also consider /elec armor as I still don't have one of those yet. I just figured on a scrapper anyway, it is regen or nothing. Anyway, thanks for your time and I look forward to your replies. That is the reason I have TK on all of my minds. Not so much an offensive toggle, but a "can't get this rad guy off of me" toggle dropper. I usually hit it, thier toggle drops, turn it off. Back in the day it was THE toggle to have.............. ahhhh the good old days

LOL, ya....... I guess i should have taken a closer look at the set as a whole. I just saw hurl and siemic smash, plus just wanting to just build one cause its "new", and thought ehh, maybe it would be decent. Like the troller epic ish. Thanks for the honest replies guys. I guess I will be looking into /elec instead. Any thoughts on a plant/elec/mu? I am sure there are better combos I could choose, I just try to avoid building the same powersets twice if I can.

Considering rolling a new dom and wanted to give earth assault a try. Anybody have any experience with this set in PvP? It basically looks like you are getting earth mastery on a troller which is by far the best set for PvP heroside. Considering the destruction of farming (for the most part) I am sure there is limited experience with this set...... maybe a few test server (beta) folks could chime in? I was gonna go Plant/Earth and was hoping I could get not only a good theme, but a decent PvP toon to boot. I have no plant toon yet and have seen several people do pretty well with Plant/. I was thinking Plant/Earth/Mu. Any suggestions/experience would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to your replies :-)

I do love my fire/dev though. My very first toon. Still puts out hella damge in PvP. Not an /EM kinda damage, but still a very fun and very competent PvP toon to play. Especially in zones.

Not if you are a decent player IMO. I respeced out of it and do just fine. Picked up assault/tactics instead and very happy with the results. PvP is not really tank friendly, so if you play blasters alot, think of it as a not so squishy blaster. You can still stand toe to toe with most (don't with invul lol), but you do need some ranged attacks to fit into your chain. Not FotM status, but still fun :-). GL

I personally had a few 30 and 40 toons I was hoping to get to 50 and had all intentions of rolling AT LEAST a WP/elec tank for farming, a sonic/therm corr cause I dont have one, anothe MM, and for sure a rad blaster. Now I am not sure I even want to build another toon. Grinding really is the suck. AT LEAST fix the SK issue. WTF is up with that situation? I am sure the dedicated farmers will find a loophole, but most don't have time for such. I am sure after the new wears off and you have tinkered with every pretty color at the tailor, subscriptions will start closing like crazy. I could be wrong.......... we shall see. I am honestly suprised there hasn't been a bigger stink raised about this thus far. Good luck to us all. Now it will take months to hit 50 instead of days/weeks :-(.

I have an elec/kin I have recently built for PvP and it does take some skill to utilize, but it is extremely fun. With transference you can take 1/3 or more of peoples end with one shot. Slot voltaic sentinel with end mod set and bye bye end. Also toss in two end mod set IOs in each elec power for extra kick. I am using Mako for hibernate but will likely respec into stealth/soul mastery . I sure like having assault and tactics though. We shall see.......... I really would love soul storm and PB. PB especially. Your teamies will love you for SB as well. Now I just need to fit fulcrum shift in............

Not trying to steal the thread, just a quick question........and it is about a tank, not a brute. I have just recently built my tank for PvP and on paper fire epic looked great, but I notice everyone is suggesting earth. Is a respec in order? Ice/SS/fire atm. My first respec left rage out ( I know, I am an idiot....) but after swapping some things around and grabbing rage WOW! I can finally do damage! If adding earth would give me just that extra edge I am all for it. Char and fire blast right now.

Now, to be on topic, I have fought several SS and EM brutes and SS is the superior choice IMO.

Thank you for your replies! Our "fiteklub" is actually several decent to great players using strategy in one on one duels mostly. It is a ladder championship type scenario. Anyway, I have made my first choice after several test sessions using my second acct and watching buffs, debuffs, and various other attributes in the arena so i could get real numbers.
I am gonna go with the elec/kin corr first just for kicks.

OK, I have a few redside 50s and have made the decision to make my PvP debut. This toon will be more geared for our SG fiteklub ish tourny, but I would love to hit RV occasionally as well. I have a stable full of blueside PvP toons so I am no slouch when it comes to fighting. Anyway, I don't really have what you would call FotM toons, but I figure I could IO one or two out and do decent. My choices are as follows:

mind/thorns dom
ice/psy dom
fire/psy dom (my main acct farmer)
widow (will be 50 in a few days)
elec/kin corr
bots/traps MM
elec/shield brute (my second acct farmer)
stone/stone brute

I am personally leaning toward the ice/psy dom (arctic air) or elec/kin corr (death to end)
I never see any /thorn doms so I assume that they aren't very effective. I could be totally wrong, hence the thread hehe.

And on a final note, I know that bots has decent KB and a well placed TP into traps can still prove nasty in a duel. Micromanaging just sucks though.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and mids builds would be even more awesome, although I understand they can be time consuming. Thanks for your time and I look forward to many replies (crosses fingers).
