fiteklub as in people just standing there or dueling with some strategery? for fiteklub I'd go bats/tarps and make sure to have a macro that makes all your bats point and laugh when the poison tarp makes people hurl
for dueling I'd probably choose the fire/psy or ice/psy. I don't know if the -rech from ice still does anything or not though.

I've never fooled around with the idea of using one. I saw a few, but I didn't see them do much, so I guess that gives me my answer. It's hard to choose something different when everyone is rolling Minds/.
Thorny is good on paper, not nearly so much in practice. Long animation times, which thanks to the DPA changes give the attacks high damage, kill the set. Sure you can hit for decent damage, but if your opponent can chain smaller attacks faster and kill you, it's not worth it. Ice primary's still good but Arctic Air detoggles on mez and movement slows are crap. Best to go for damage and more damage and Fire/Psi offers that.

Thank you for your replies! Our "fiteklub" is actually several decent to great players using strategy in one on one duels mostly. It is a ladder championship type scenario. Anyway, I have made my first choice after several test sessions using my second acct and watching buffs, debuffs, and various other attributes in the arena so i could get real numbers.
I am gonna go with the elec/kin corr first just for kicks.
Also, thx for the information on arctic air. I did not realize that it dropped when mezzed.

Wait, FC is people not moving? Pretty sure anyone would allow kiting, there are just boundaries.

PvP Redux is discontinued, for obvious reasons. Thanks to everyone who helped and joined.
OK, I have a few redside 50s and have made the decision to make my PvP debut. This toon will be more geared for our SG fiteklub ish tourny, but I would love to hit RV occasionally as well. I have a stable full of blueside PvP toons so I am no slouch when it comes to fighting. Anyway, I don't really have what you would call FotM toons, but I figure I could IO one or two out and do decent. My choices are as follows:
mind/thorns dom
ice/psy dom
fire/psy dom (my main acct farmer)
widow (will be 50 in a few days)
elec/kin corr
bots/traps MM
elec/shield brute (my second acct farmer)
stone/stone brute
I am personally leaning toward the ice/psy dom (arctic air) or elec/kin corr (death to end)
I never see any /thorn doms so I assume that they aren't very effective. I could be totally wrong, hence the thread hehe.
And on a final note, I know that bots has decent KB and a well placed TP into traps can still prove nasty in a duel. Micromanaging just sucks though.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and mids builds would be even more awesome, although I understand they can be time consuming. Thanks for your time and I look forward to many replies (crosses fingers).
