Has anyone gotten Demonic yet? I have the three badges listed as known requirements, and it hasn't been awarded. I petitioned it and was told I didn't have all the requirements, so I'm wondering just what's going on here.

    Soul Taker
    Coldblooded
    Lorekeeper
    Forged by Hellfire
    Overlord

According to the Prima guide. I have all these badges and the Accolade (received it when I got the Overlord badge).

But as it is they are solo. Good for us is that the numbers for the third badges are bugged, as they added an extra 0 in the code (much like with sally).

Is that confirmed, or just a rumor? Source?

How does a villain earn the Annihilator badge? The PRIMA guide lists it as a prerequisite for the Marshall accolade.

Badge-Hunter.com does not even list the Accolade.

    Thanks for your help.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seeing as the Prima guide supposedly lists every badge in the game and makes no other reference to Annihilator, this would seem to be an oversight.

There's also a Bow Breaker reference for Force of Nature that is unexplained.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Positron recently posted that in the next build of the game, defeating the "Future Freedom Force" during the Lord Recluse Task Force will award the Annihilator badge.

Bow Breaker sounds like a reward for defeating Longbow ambushes during the Mayhem missions, but I haven't seen any other references to it besides the guide.

  4. So I've managed to do a couple Mayhem missions to Atlas Park with my Brute. (EDITED TO ADD: This was on Villainous difficulty, as I'm a big wimp.)

The first time, I quickly found the police station and thought "Aha, there's supposed to be a sub-mission here to rescue the villain!" So I popped in and sure enough, there was a guy named Icecap in one of the cells. He was a decent amount of help for the rest of the mission. I also noticed that I had a clue in my clues panel - "Wanted Poster: Icecap". I now think I got this, somehow, and it unlocked the sub-mission. More on that later.

I also found the jewelry store, which needed a key. Couldn't find that, so headed to the bank. Got the loot, and was ambushed by a heroine, Flambeaux. Beat her up. Still had plenty of time left, so tooled around causing mayhem. Found a Bone Daddy and a Skull minion. Beat them up and got a key! But it wouldn't let me into the jewelry store. I *assume* that's because I already had Mission Complete.

Tried again, new mission. This time I found the Skulls right away and got the key, went in, and grabbed all the loot (a total of eleven extra minutes added!), then headed for the police station. There were no villains in the cells - this is what makes me think that the "Wanted Poster" is necessary to unlock that sub-mission, but I'm not sure how to get it. Beat up police? Wreck stuff?

My end-of-mission ambush was Flambeaux again.

So here are my questions: If you're on the same map, do the same villains and heroes always show up? How do you get the Wanted Poster? Are there any other sub-missions in Atlas Park?

(Oh, and I got the exploration badge in the first mission, about five seconds after I zoned in)

what is required for the TF Commander Accolade? i assume it's related to completing a certain combination / # TF's?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You need the six "numbered" TF badges (so Positron, Synapse, Sister Psyche, Citadel, Manticore, and Numina).

  6. Has anyone figured out how to get missions? I can't find a contact.

Isn't he a contact in the hollows?

Yep. Julius is the third Hollows contact.

  8. FYI, Grendel's Mom can't be an AV - because she's one of my heroes, and has been for over a year. ^_^

She was merely filled with despair when her son got involved in gang activity and drugs, but that turned to rage when he was killed (or so we think!) by Atta. She purposely overdosed on superadine, half-hoping it would kill her and half-hoping it'd empower her to get revenge. So now she's a Stone/SS Tanker (cross between a Caliban and an Ogre) and, well, not so bright anymore. But she remembers that she hates Trolls.

If Grendel *is* still alive and an AV, that would seriously mess with Emily's whole worldview. That'd be interesting.

    Still bitter about Isolator?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Er, no. I have it.

EDIT: And more specifically, anyone who wants it can get it, then follow up by getting all the other badges as well. I have no problem with having to make a new character, IF that character can then get all the badges. What I object to is the idea that *by design* no one character can ever get all the badges.

Do you expect to uncover all the game's mysteries on the first time through?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes. I don't care if it's hard, that's fine, but it should be *possible*, because there are those of us who are completists who get our fun that way. I could care less about PVP. I don't give a crap about getting to level 50 as a goal in and of itself. Getting all the badges? Getting all the new badges as each expansion comes out? That gives me my jollies.

Don't talk to me about lack of replay value and unsubbing, either. It's hogwash. Across the games I have 70+ alts, most of whom are nearing level 10 and all of whom are meant to be played to 50 eventually. My completism demands that I use all the powersets, see.

Making it impossible for my designated "badge characters" to get all the contacts, badges, and souvenirs is a surefire way to make me lose interest in the game, and I doubt I'm the only one that feels this way.

Mongoose's missions early on, right after Khalinda. There seemed to be an arc going on, I had clues and a story... but after the 'final' mission, (with the temple), nothing. No souvenier, no further clues... he just pushed me off on the PO Broker.
Anyone know if Mongoose is a real arc or no?

The souvenir is b0rked. I plan to petition for it at some point when the GMs are not so flooded with requests.

Some people find buggery fun. I'd happen to feel that is the wrong kind of fun.

Yes, it is a hyperbolic example.

Thanks for sharing your homophobia with the group. Did you have anything on-topic to add?

The more I think about this, the more it seems like it could be a good thing. To my mind, outlvling some arcs can increase the replayability of the game. If you go through and get to the max lvl while completeing every arc theres not much of an incentive to create a new toon just to do the same thing all over again. By missing some arcs the first few times around when you go back with a new toon you can make sure you pick up the arcs you missed, thus creating a somewhat new experience. So maybe there is a silver lining after all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Bleah. That is the Statesman Theory, yes.

In reality, I have one character that I do my best to see all content with...and I also have 50+ alts that I play regularly. My altitis has nothing to do with trying to see content that I missed the first time though...I just *like playing lots of different characters*.

Some people are completists. That's how they have fun. And yet again someone is telling those people they're not having the right kind of fun. *sigh*

I'm having an issue in that I go for the Vendetti arc and badge right away, but he sends me down a different story arc, so no badge. Anyone know if there's something I'm supposed to do in one mission to get one arc versus the other?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Vendetti's badge mission is not part of an arc, it's a standalone. Same for Bocor's.

You've been able to return to outlevelled contacts in CoH to finish story arcs since at least I3.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Seriously? Because I still can't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You only can if you've already been offered the first mission in the arc. If you haven't, then no, you can't go back and get it.

  16. [ QUOTE ]
At minimum 3 arcs. There is Mr. Bocor he has an arc, Billy Heck has an arc, and um Angeleti? I think he has an arc. It appears the you can't get more than 1 maybe 2 of the arcs before out leveling them. I managed to get Mr. Bocor's and Billy Hecks done but I just finished Billy's at level 11 and now he won't talk to me.

It appears that Mr. Bocor gives you the radio at level 10. I finished his arcs at level 9 and he simply said to come back at level 10. When I remembered to contact him at level 11 he gave me the radio.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I managed - through careful planning and avoiding fights as much as possible - to do Vendetti's arc plus his badge mission, Bocor's arc plus his badge mission, and both of Billy Heck's arcs by the time I hit level 10 and got introduced to the radio. I have heard some people say that both Bocor and Vendetti have a second arc as well, but I haven't seen them myself. Notably, Billy Heck's second arc - the one that gives the temp power - did NOT give a souvenir, although his first one did. I don't know if that's a bug or not (like I'm not sure if Mongoose is supposed to give a souvenir or not).

  17. I love love love solo hunting in Faultline. It has the magic combo for my main.

Tall buildings with no fire escapes + Teleport = Perfect sniping spot
Vahz + Clockwork = non-flyers who can't get to the rooftops, except for Oscillators, which aren't a big threat

I sit in safety and Teleport Foe individual mobs up to the rooftop and take them out one at a time. When I've beaten all but the bosses, I can zap down to street level and take them out without their crowd of buddies getting in the way.

I got my Gearsmasher and Gravedigger badges super-easily by hunting in Faultline, and I plan to get the CoT badge that way as well.
