Assuming they know how to work and maintain the sonic field to keep Hamidon out.
-
I always felt like I didn't have a choice. They weren't really moral choices, they were side switches. Maybe I wanted to make a specific choice but not leave the resistance? Well, then I get one choice.
I also hated the choice where my choices were 1. Kill someone 2. Kill someone.
What if my character doesn't kill? There was no "don't kill anyone" option. -
Quote:Every single incarnate thread since BS announced how notices would work has been really bad. I don't recall a time since I started playing that had this much vitirol and hate in posts. You'd think people were insulting their dead mothers. And while the rest of the forums is touted as some of the best in the industry...
This one thread has reminded me just what utter scumbags people can be when sat behind a monitor.
Well done. Very well done.
Both sides have been bad and I'll admit I've contributed abit. I'm personally going to avoid all Incarnate threads until this debacle is over and I am advising anyone else to do the same.
Really. Not the best community for new players to see. Makes WoWs forums look pleasent. -

Quote:That is a rather exceptional team. Rad is a good debuffer, everyone was +1 and had rares...Did a Kahn run today where we completely ignored the 4 AVs and just pounded on Reichsmann the whole time. With everyone level shifted and buffed from Rares, he went down surprisingly fast, and the only debuffs we had was one Rad.
We tried that on our team last night. It was okay till the second psi AV came out and decimated the stone tank and everyone else. -
Quote:The devs are making the same mistake that doomed certain newer games. My personal position is that offering an option is acceptable, because some players will want to take advantage of it, regardless of how much time and effort it costs.
The Incarnate system is meant as a typical MMO end-game, team-intensive gear grind that even takes a well-organized team a long time to fully complete. Trying to accommodate us casual soloers (or even the casual team-lite crowd) isn't going to work too well for that kind of end-game.
Of course the danger is that the casual playerbase is fairly large, and many of those players may lose interest in the game's direction. The devs are hoping to attract more of the achiever crowd in exchange. We'll see how well that works down the road, as those achievers will regularly need to put together effective level 50 teams.
Trying to compete with the big boys when you aren't going to be able to lure them away from their game. -
Quote:And I'm sure soloers are just big mean grumpy people who refuse to team.It is perfectly achievable for casual players. Run a WST.
It's long and cumbersome for casual *soloers*, but that's a different matter entirely.
I'm sure none of them...
Have an illness that requires them to leave at random times
A slow computer that disallows them from running large teams
Kids
Soloers are players. -
Quote:3239 is lower than 5709 by alot. And lower than 6837 by ALOT.hm? as far as this game goes, 2010 was fairly stable in sales (with a increase due to GR release), at least that's the impression I get from their report, though it is down from last year overall. I believe it'll remain stable through 2011.

Offering an option that is so insane it makes Korean grindfest MMO's look casual friendly and then touting you have a casual friendly end game is not acceptable as it's a lie.
-
A goal that is unachievable for casual players is not a compromise. What happened to "casual friendly end game?"

Quote:Time will tell. Hope those quarterly earnings don't drop lower!I'm sorry, but this statement doesn't even make sense.
Bolded the part I added.
As this is a business transaction, I agree you don't owe them anything(well other than the sub fee obviously). I agree pissing off large amounts of customers is a bad thing.
But, there is not a shred of evidence to even suggest that the shard conversion rate will piss off a large amount of customers. Just sayin. -
Quote:Pretty much. If you are a casual soloer go to your main and then find a civilian with a name that begins with M so that it gives you your total playhours.I don't think so. This gives a path to the goodies for achiever soloers who enjoy an intensive, highly efficient grind.
For casual soloers like myself, it's a message that these items are not meant for me and I should abandon all hope of getting them. But I expected that.
You'll need several hundred hours to get one notice so if you have, say, 200 hours on your main, double the entire time you've spent on your main and you'll be close to a notice. -
Quote:Nice hyperbole at the "anti-teaming" statement.Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
Serious question: If they had never said they planned a way for 'anti-teaming' people to get rare incarnate salvage, that it would always and forevermore be a WTF-only thing from the beginning, would you have been okay with that?
The devs are not my mom and dad. They are not the hand that feeds me. The customers are the hand that feeds them. This is a buisness, not a lovey dovey family.
And no, though they essentially stated that originally and had to go back on it after a massive backlash.
I'm willing to compromise but it appears the devs are not. I do not owe them anything as I am a customer. If they wish to keep their customers, they should not work toward pissing off large amounts of them. -
Quote:So it's 1% better?Okay, that one infected in RV misinformation has to stop. It spawns once every 45 minutes, not 2 hours. I know because I hunted it. Still bad, but not nearly as bad as two hours.
Considering it was in a PVP zone
You needed a hundred of them
Villains who could NOT get the badge could camp there to kill that one infected to deprive heroes of getting it
It was pretty bad. -
Quote:In a way, yes. As it basically feels insulting to me and it seems is being used as a method to say "Heres your option! Now you can't complain anymore! HAHAHA!"Serious question. Do you think they should just remove the second option? Would some option that's doable solo be better than no option. I'm not trying to set up a false dilemma. I recognize that the devs have set the bar very, very high. Perhaps too high. But assuming they aren't willing to budge, do you truly believe that this is worse than nothing?
However it won't shut us up because it isn't a realistic option.
So yes, I'd of preferred no option over an insulting one. -
In all honesty, there still isn't a solo method. This is the equivilant to when badgers were slapped in the face with "one infected in RV every two hours. Good luck!"
Yes, it should be harder to get a notice solo but there is no reason it should be insanely time consuming like this. I heard the number of 400+ hours being estimated to get one notice completely solo.
So your options are as follows.
1 TF that takes about an hour, two max
400 hours of solo grinding. (which is longer than some people have played their mains over the course of years.)
Seriously? I see no reason why this option needs to be in the magnitude of several hundred times more difficult. Just for ONE notice. This needs to be scaled back hardcore or I'll continue to view it as the devs spitting in the face of soloers.
Soloers, you can expect your notice in around 2016. -

Quote:Oh, we're discussing flipping stuff on the market. I assumed you meant from drops.Yes, really. There are several recipes you can buy for 1 alignment merit that sell for 100M+ influence. Quite a few of the 2 alignment merit recipes sell for 100M+ influence. But, of course, that doesn't fit your fantasy of the devs screwing over casuals so carry on.
I also already stated 400 mil wasn't much. So....read? -

Quote:It's a wonder you were banned once. I mean seriously. Every post I've seen by you in this and every other thread on this topic has been trollbait flame posts designed to attack anyone with an opinion opposite to you.If you go through this thread in a few sittings, it's almost like witnessing multiple personality disorder.
First there's rage about assumptions. Then there is 10-12 pages of long winded posts sharing personal information with complete strangers about how you are introverted yet still like talking to strangers and helping them in an MMO. Then there are calls for solo-able Incarnate crafting. Then news of said system comes and there is conspiracy theories about it not being what they wanted. Then it's clarified. Then it's too much work. Then there are deleted and unnecessary posts in Feedback threads about not even attempting to test the new content simply because it's a raid while trying to urge other malcontents to join in with you.
Honestly, at this point, I'm going to diagnose the problem for you, Eiko-chan: you will never be happy. It has absolutely nothing to do with introversion or extroverts or teaming or grouping. If you honestly think they are going to drastically alter the way they make this game for someone who only plays between no hours at all or 4 hours every couple of days, you are sorely mistaken. And I have to voice the same concern that people did back on page 2-5 of this thread: you aren't trying to make this game a better place for all, you are just out to complain that the game isn't made entirely for yourself.
I'm being very direct here because I think it was a low card to try to use a mental or personality trait to get a change made in a video game. As soon as I figure out a way to demand the devs ignore your posts because I have Asthma, I will. -
Quote:So "a year" was generous, I suppose.Leandro figured an "optimal" (killing a boss a minute on a constant rate) time of 400 hours to get the requisite shards. That's half as long as I've played my main all told in three years, and those 800 hours include a lot of RP time (and a fair bit of crafting; she has the Field Crafter accolade).
Make it four+ years. Or "there really still isn't a casual friendly option". -
For a casual player solo, this still puts it out of reach. Assuming the RNG is average for you, expect a couple years per character if you're doing it completely solo (and not some super build that solos +4 x8).
