Making mobs tougher and making our AOE weaker

    [/ QUOTE ]

Never said exactly this. My hope is that making mobs tougher ALONE would bring AOE damage into line. But, I'm still researching different methods to solving this problem.

Two worlds, DAMAGE CAP. An AoE ability should not do the same damage it does to 20 mobs that it does to 200 of them. At some point you have to call it enough. Do yer datamining and put a damage cap so after certian amounts of mobs, your damage will start to scale down. Until and unless you do this, AoE abilities will always be outright better than single target.

    Pos,

Just killed Babbage in mission with several other high 40's and 50's, no exemplars. None of us received any badge.

As a side note, please do not add any more badges that you get by killing a single-spawning outdoor creature (Kraken, Adamaster). It screams "I HATE EVERQUEST" in burning lights in the sky. You want kill stealing, mad players all hunting in one area trying to crush the spirits of each over a single creature? Keep CoH unique and fresh....please don't use this horrible, terrible design method

    [/ QUOTE ]

Babbage or Psychic Babbage (two different beasts)?

As for the kill stealing... several groups can get "badge credit" off one monster... just like several heroes can get defeat credit off one villain.

I killed krakeran the other day, he was at 80% of his current HP, im 50 and did over 1k damage to him and killed him, no badge. There has to be a bug with this. How can I not get credit for doing 70-80% of the damage?

If it helps, that mob was under attack by lowbies for about atleast 10 mins and they kept on dying ETC trying to take him down, so OVERALL damage wise perhaps they did more damage than me (he kept on regening back though) but when I attacked him, he was at 80% of his current health and some lvl 30s had come to kill him too.

Anyways, point is, either the badge system is not working or there is something more to your kill credit system, maybe OVERALL damage counts and that group had done way, way more damage than me over time that what I did was not part of the 25% minimum damage to get the kill credit?

I am level 47 and to get the badges I want for these rewards I have two choices: find a portal mission that contains these enemies and farm it over and over or run around the lower level areas causing havoc.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Choice 3: Exemplar to an appropriate level Hero and help them get XP (and work off your debt) while you both get the badge. I know... it's just crazy enough to work.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But that would require people to use logic and to be outgoing and willing to actually help other people out rather than obsessing with their own gains exclusively...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Logic shows in a situation like this it is indeed best to just run to a low lvl zone and quickly get yer xkill badges. I like to help others too but I really dont see a reason to do this slowly, it would take just much much too long as opposed to 30 mins of killing in a low lvl zone. They should really make the kill count only when you get xp from those mobs.
  4. Damn it, wait till office hours to be finished before you guys do this. Think about the people at EST time zones!!!! Dont start the invation anytime soon plz, do it when more people are online. I dont wanna miss a thing.
  5. I hope you guys are also looking into quick kill strategies, soloing will allmost always be the best exping strategy cause it provides you with the most influence/enhancers and thx to quick kill strategies, you can also just quickly kill mobs with AoEs and move on, not bother spending time on cleaning up. Causes trains and gives soloers an extreme xp advantage. So, yes, there are indirect penalties for grouping beyond that the highest level person in group is basically PLing everyone, there are also penalties for not able to quick kill *** affectively and ofcourse its less convinent to be tied to a group rather than soloing whenever you like.

Herding is not the only way to gain xp fast, infact herding reaquires certian situations, quick kills dosent really, as long as yer in a zone with high numbers of mob groups, you can quick kills and get comparable xp.
  6. Statesman, im not sure if this has been bough up already but there is one major flaw in group xp that I personally hate. That is, the highest level person in group usually gets horriable xp. When doing the brickstown TF. I gained half my level when I was 31/32, when I was 34/35, I gained little over a bar.....thats about 3 times less xp if you are the highest lvl in group as opposed to people 3-4 levels below you. How is that fair to the high levels that preety much carry the groups anyways? Unless the amount of xp you must gain doubles every level, you cant possibly tell me that xp in groups is scaling fairly to everyone.

This is one of the prime reasons that offset me about grouping, I usually dont group unless I AM one of the lower level guys, even cons give crap xp.

So can you please consider re-doing the group xp equation so it calculates everyone that is in group and distributes xp accordingly? I really think that fixing the xp given to higher level players in groups will go a long way into fixing the game and will also encourage people to SK too instead of leeching.

*I will not intentionally stealth nerf.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I guess my question to you would be, is the combination of super speed + stealth making you invis, intentional?

I have this combo and so far the only things that can detect me is 5th column ware wolves. I mean im not complaining, I love it, its great for a spiner scrapper so he can get in position ahead of time and start going crazy doing AoE but I just wanna know if this is going to be changed in the future. Will you guys nerf this combo?
