  1. Thank you all. I'll switch to more end regen in acrobatics, and perhaps switch some damage to recharge in energy slots, and see how it goes.

I noticed a problem in pvp, first session for me tonight, I did hit someone, damaged and stunned him but the powers recharged to slow for me to continue damage him before he jumped out of reach, and I'm very clunky when it comes to jump around reaching my targets.

Light, please post your configuration so I get an idea on how it can look, and to have something to look forward to.
  2. Hello all.

I've been playing Thugs off and on for a while and he is now level 31. from level 26ish I've had increasing problems in building fury, maintain endurance, despite stamina, and I have a general feel that despite fury he is lacking in damage and overall efficiency.

Below is his build at level 31. As I don't remember when I picked the different powers the levels should be taken lightly, but overall, this is how he looks right now. Any input on how I can increase his fury building and overall performance would be much needed. remove or add powers, remove slotting or any other tip is welcome, I got a free re spec so I can rearrange it some.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. Thanks.

I have now respeced and noticed a big difference in end use and staying alive when encounter more then two enemies.
  4. I've played around with that builder some more. I'd like some info about how end/dam/accu will be(roughly) during my missions. am I overdoing the accu thing, will stamina's three slots do or is that overkill?

Remove some accu in my attacks and put in either end regen or more damage?

Actually slotting Agile with 3 defenses will grant almost 10% of melee defense. Pretty good IMO.

    Thanks.

I've fiddled a little with the builder again and came up with the following little table.

I kept end regen in strike and slash, aswell as put some in agile. How do the above look as a 'start point' for continuing levelling?

Nice post but would be a help if you have hero builder and post the build you have up.

Build's for stalkers are tricky things but what u have posted up seems petty good btw.

Selling enhancements between lvl is also a good way making inf also exmp down to do sf's also helps.

Thanks, I've been checking http://www.cohplanner.com/ but no matter how I do, if I enter the same skills I did in /respec I find myself at level 24, where I in /respec was at level 22.. So I don't know how correct that one is. I cannot use the offline builder as my cedega(linux) installation don't really like to install .NET which is required for the herobuilder.

Here's how a new build(The one I proposed after respec) would look after a first try to actually make something of the online builder.

NOTE: When I did '/respec' I could fit in placate to, but when I try add that in the builder it sets me to level 24, which I am not.. So I don't know what I do wrong there yet, have to play with the builder a bit I guess.

NOTE 2: I am pretty ok with the actual skills, my biggest problem is the slots, to few in one skill or to many in one for example. I like to make a good, playable, base(with enough dmg/accu as well as enough def when I need it) from level 22 and up.

And about the selling of enhancements, I've done that except once around level 12-13 where I replaced all I had to new training skills, other then that I have sold all I got, except those I could use myself, and have around 200k inf now.
  7. Hello all.

I got a stalker who is level 21 now. Once I get to 22 and will be able to use the upgrades sold in Sharkhead Isle I am planning to upgrade from all my training skills. I will also respec if needed and thats why I ask for help here.

My stalker is Claws/Super Reflexes, and its fun but I think I placed my slots/skills a little wrong, especially for my defense skills. For example, I read somewhere(can't remember where) that hide adds lots of defense but only while hidden and that would mean I overdone my slotting in hide..

Below is how my build looks right now, and I would appreciate some input and tips on, if possible, a better way of slotting my skills. I mostly run around doing hit and run missions, and not planning to go toe to toe with most enemies I meet, I got the brute for smashing, so this character is a little more like I figure my idea of how a stalker would be.

I also wonder why on some builds I've seen here, jump, brawl and other skills are empty. Is there at max level restriction on how many skills/slots I can fill up? Thugs, my highest character, is level 30 now so I never had a 50 build..

This is what I have, I don't remember when and which slots I added first, as I play this character quite irregular and sessions are far from each others.

    - Strike (Acc)(Dam)(Dam)(EndRegen)
    - Slash (Acc)(Dam)(Dam)(EndRegen)
    - Assassin's Claw (Acc)(Dam)(Dam)(Dam)
    - Build Up (Recharge)(ToHitBuff)
    - Placate (Recharge)

    - Hide (EndRegen)(DefBuf)(DefBuf)(DefBuf)
    - Focused Fighting (EndRegen)(DefBuf)(DefBuf)
    - Agile (DefBuf)(DefBuf)(DefBuf)
    - Focused Senses (EndRegen)(DefBuf)

    - Combat Jumping (EndRegen)(DefBuf)(Empty)
    - Super Jump (Empty)

    - Swift (Empty)

All my skills are Training skills right now. Please state which skills/slots that would be a priority from 22 and up as I only got around 180k infamy and I guess that won't do to upgrade all skills in one go.

    ----
Small update... I did the '/respec' command to see what I could fit in and came up with the following(Now at level 22):

Claws: Strike, Slash, Assassin's Claw, Build Up, Placate
Super R: Hide, Focused Fighting, Agile
    Fitness: Swift, Health, Stamina
    Leaping: Combat Jumping, Super Jump.

I basically have my 'second' skills(stamina/jumping) but had to remove Focused senses, but as I can get that next 2 levels I assume the benefits from stamina/leaping is best to have first.

My problem now is, I'm no number cruncher so I don't know where to place the slots at start to make it as efficient as I possibly can for continuing levelling..

At level 50 I guess its all clear but where to place the slots and which enhancements to prioritize is the tricky ting..
  8. Thanks Blue_Note, I guess I continue with my dark/dark demon for now
  9. Hello all.

I've been playing Thugs, my brute, a while and even if hes lovely now at 27 its fun to test other types as well. I've created two types of corruptors and played one to 11 and another to 7. Both of them is fun, mostly because(I think) at lower levels not many differences exist, and I understand most types doesn't become 'good' until one get to a little higher levels with more powers under their belt.

One is a Energy/Radiation Emission corruptor. The theme here was a 'robotic' kind of character. The other one is a Dark/Dark and the theme there was someone who come from a darker realm to our world.

The thing is, I like to play one of them to higher levels(Maybe both but like to start with one) but at this low level I don't really know their strengths and weaknesses. So... I would be happy if anyone could give me some input on the performance and variation of these to arch types. I don't mind if one is considered 'a little weaker' then the other(Just have to work harder..) but I also don't like if one becomes a pain to play due to game/at mechanics.

What I am interested in is their potential, solo and in teams, the endurance usage(Will it get better?) for the many different buffs/debuffs they have and so on and off course their 'lets BLAST' capability

Any input or experience from these two types is much appreciated.
  10. Thanks all who responded. I've tried to reply several times but the forum ate my comments so I'll make it short this time
  11. Thank you for the offer, Nine_Claws.

I got an offer from a person who have helped me ingame and who I've teamed with some and am now a member of the VG "Violators".

I will check the in game maps thing.
  12. Thanks, I'm on that channel now. already made use of it by offer team when I did a badge mission .)
  13. Ah, so the ()'s is to display which skill to choose to put those slots in while levelling I guess. Myself, I just tried to put slots equal in all skills I have..

Having 1 respec to go I figure I wait until I know more, and can afford to slot up with what I plan for .)

    Thanks, both of you
  14. Hello all.

I have played CoV a bit(1-2 weeks) some months ago, paused a while, and now I'm playing again. My main character is Thugs, a Energy/Dark Brute who is level 24(And just passed 50 badges, yay me) right now. I also play Dr. Minder, a Mind/Energy Dominator and also have one each of the other arch types below level 15.

This will not be a 'one line' post as I would love to get answers on several questions, if possible.

    - Villain Group

During the last week I have been invited to one VG after the other, some totally anonymous for me and others from people whom I teamed with. As I don't know many people and most people don't know me, I have basically declined all invitations. I thought I'd make a little presentation here and state that I am looking for a gang(VG) who I can chat with, team up with and do fun stuff on a, for me irregular, basis. I'd prefer an established VG with members that have been around a while and will be here even next month or two.

As a side note, I'm way past level 35 irl, married with children, working from home, with a pc that has no need for an OFF button. When I am in game I am mostly available but as I am damaged from other mmo games I cannot adapt to the Must play XX hours per day between X-Y hours, and when Boss calls, drop all you do and come!! ideology .

I play very randomly, sometimes longer periods and sometimes just between work hours. Sometimes I just log in to finish one mission or just to smash a few heads. Now and then I log in to do a mission or two and find myself AFK because real life demanded my attention(Family guy.. Stuff happens) I like teaming, though it sometimes feels like 'rush rush new mission, hurry xp xp' when I find myself in a team and that's not really me as I like to go slowish and find those badges hidden everywhere. Sometimes I just want to run around to find stuff and check out areas I never seen.

So basically.. Anyone care to adopt a 'stray cat'?

    - Building a character

I have tried to keep up with infamy and buy enhancements to make my characters viable when doing missions, but it seems I'm always on the short side of infamy, except when I got a pressie in form of loads of infamy from another player(thanks, you know who you are).

So question one would be 'Is there a way to get more infamy per mission/instance?' perhaps by increase difficulty?

Question two is about builds. I've seen different builds on the forums and I assume most of them are including these 'SO' enhancements. I don't understand what the numbers mean though and how I can adapt my building(with DO and training enhancers) to the lists shown. The numbers I talk about is for example(Taken from a build in forums):

    Punch==> Acc(1) Acc(15) Rechg(17) Rechg(40) EndRdx(43)

the numbers here(1,15,17,40,43)... Are they the level of enhancements? Which types and how many in each slot?.Are there limits on how much of enhancements one can put in each skill/slot?

    - Badges

I've found that my main interest is, besides getting to 50, kill big stuff, and maybe try pvp some, to find badges. Right now I am missing a bunch from lower levels(Like to get them before I level up more). I'm told I can 'level down' to team up and get them, and once in a team I was told I was invited to a 'badge channel', then nothing happened. I think I missed something there...

Is there a badge channel where I can get help to find badges and where I can yell out when I do a mission for a badge someone else might need?

Thats about it, thanks for reading this far

    // Thugs
  15. Hello all.

I am a new player of CoV and just wanted to toss in a hello here. Coming from muds, daoc, eq2 and EVE I decided to check this game out when they had the 14 day trial.

I got a little hooked and decided to give it a month more atleast, so I bought the CoV package and here I am, on the Union server. Slightly confused and finding it fun to toddle around looking for fights, badges and a mission now and then, in groups or solo. I am an alt-o-holic, so I am currently playing three characters I switch between depended on mood. I'm no powerplayer so I tend to take it rather slow and not worring if someone outlevel me or so, still when I have the time I do play a fair amount of hours, I don't take games seriously, but when I am IN a game I do my best to have fun and help others if needed .)

I play Eesie, a mutation Stalker, Dr Minder who is a Tech Dominator and Thugs, a brute. I havent found out who my favourite is yet, though Dr Minder is kind of nice with the control and all, and as Thugs I can run into a squad of bandits and just wave on, while I with Eesie will have to be more careful(yea, so basically I don't know whats most fun..)

I have a few questions I hope I could get answers on.

    1. Blind group/sg invites: Is it common that people toss those invites at any moment, time after time, without any kind of dialouge or chat? It feels kind of annoying to have to decline invites from same people several times within 10 minutes. Those groups I have been in is where people pm'd me first and asked/invited me, or if I broadcasted that I am available for this and that mission.

    2. DO, SO, Training enhancements: When should I seriously begin to start buying the 'better' versions of the enhancements? They cost -alot- and I don't seem to accumulate that much infamy I'd like to.

    3. When should I worry about a 'build'? I picked the powers I thought looked fun and they seem to work well, but from reading the forums here it seems there's lots of different approaches on efficient builds.

    4. Super groups: I've been invited into a bunch of these, but I refuse to accept any 'blind invites' and wonder if there exist 'older', laid back veteran kind of SG's who can answer a wide range of questions, have groups in several level ranges and are involved in the whole game, that is pve/pvp, badges, funny events, exploration(if that exist) and so on. I've read the 'guild listing' but havent really met anyone from those guilds so I don't know alot of people.

Thats about it, thanks for reading this far.
