Very nice work ... Stateman and Mel look great! I wouldn't have minded if Mynx's blue was a little darker but who really cares what I think.
Great job Gideon! -
I can see the resemblance ... not sure about the bubbly eyes
but either way .. it's very nice. Great job Crest!

I didn't check out all the votes but I am assuming I am not being original by voting for Lousy Day. I had a few others that I really liked but ... this time I really really liked that peticular piece so I have to vote for that one.

Thank you QuarriosSoul. I agree, even if a lot of those were just for the sake of seeing my character drawn by different artists.
In some cases I simply supplied reference shots, in other cases I just gave the artist a few pointers/suggestions/guidelines and waited to see what they would come up with, but in other cases I was really looking to portray something specific. It's a lot of fun to try to flesh them out. Contrary to some people (ex: Thor's Assassin) that have a very elaborate back story to their character and use art to flesh out that story, I only really have a feel for the character and I try to create images and situation that embody that feeling and that I could eventually use to integrate or create a full fledged back story from.
For example, the piece I got from Woody from GU Comics was an attempt at showing the "researcher" side of Thornster and I tried to set it in a game context instead of a traditional lab.
The two "versus" pieces between Thornster and Blackthorn (Point by Graver and the one by Brandon McKinney) were meant to flesh out the Nemesis that is Blackthorn to Thornster and showing off that Blackthorn would never melee with an opponent without having them fully immobilized first. The problem is ... the more you think about things the more ideas you get ... you see, just by writing this I just had another idea to better illustrate Blackthorn's attitude about melee. This could be a never ending thing... -
Take care 8Baller ... been great to see all your different kind of work over the years and the artistic ways you have found to slip that 8-ball everywhere

I seem to be available, should be with Flaming Core my lvl 39 Fire/Thermal Controler
-
I have a free slot and enough imagination to come up with a toon but I will be busy on Friday (8th) otherwise ... I'm crazy enough to give this a try.
-
I moved all my 20+ toons to Justice ... I have one lvl 7 and one free slot left ... (that is what 21 slots on justice does for yah) ... So, if Justice is dying ... I'm not killing it.

The first one has great lines and I can't wait to see it inked and colored ... I really like the shading in the second one. It screams "color me!" ... very cool piece.
Gratz man! -
Quote:My answer is ... because I don't see the character I play as myself. Therefore, when I create a character, I thrive for one that best fits my concept, looks the best and/or is different from others I have done before/others I have seen in the game.Alright everyone, my New Year's Resolution is to find out ....
WHY DO GUYZ PLAY GIRL TOONZ??!!
In CoH I probably have a 60% male / 40% female ratio,
- my main character in EQ was a female ranger (the graphics looked much better than males),
- in DaoC it was a male dwarf healer,
- in WoW a female troll shaman (didn't like the crouching of the males and they were the sexiest Horde toons at the time),
- huge male scrapper spines/da in CoH,
- huge male dom thorn/plant in CoV (seemed appropriate for a nemesis)
- beast like male psychic scrapper type in CO
but yeah I have spent over 200 days watching 2 female characters (EQ and WoW) ... and no ... I don't secretly wish I had breasts ... well you know ... if I did I ... well ... I mean ... I ... I ... I mean I don't see them as me.
Edit had to go back and count for my 20+ chars (M/F/H) I have 10/8/8 and for all those I had on hand 30/28/20 which means I probably love Huge toons more than most and that 31% or 36% of my toons are females -
Sorry I was out partying ... but I do insist on wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
To all Justicites, cheers! -
You people get distracted so easily ... nice tail Kat!

This being Justice and all I might as well slip my wishes in while this thread hasn't derailed too much.
So, may the season bring you joy and the wisdom to notice the little joys where they may be. May a heroic defense system keep you healthy all year long.

Very cool thanks
-
Hey .. how did I miss the WIP one ... anyhoo ... catching up with the thread now ... very nice ... Thanks Bobby!
Yeah the eyes as background is very cool and those horns on his head must have been a pain from that angle. Another cool thing is that you got the face color right ... most people tend to change that or his hair color ... very cool
First piece I get in that crazy costume (if remember correctly) soooo cool ...thanks again -
Very well done Bobby ... that piece is awesome and for an awesome guy which makes it even "awesomer"!
