  1. Random 2v2 Tournament this Sunday at 8pm est!

Rice will be holding his random 2v2 Tourny this Sunday (so clearly practice is canceled).

I would strongly, STRONGLY suggest that everyone try to make it to this as he is handing out some nice prizes.

    Rules:

1)This event will be only open to participants of Victory PvP Boot Camp.

    2) Matches will be set to SHW, with Heal Decay and Travel Suppression turned off, small inspirations only.

    3) Any and all characters that a player has (on their global account) is eligible for this event, you are not limited to just the PvP U character you created.

    4) Resets on maps due to crashing/zoning errors/vent crashes are allowed once per round, per team, within the first 2 minutes of the match.

Rice will state any futher rules he wishes to put in place.
  2. ----This Sunday---

PvP practice we will be starting at 8pm est.

    Focusing on the following-

    Doms

    Locking

    Spiking

I'd like to see a few rounds played as well, so everyone please attend.

    Teams will be rebalanced!
  3. Hmm I could have sworn the score was 11-8, I was playing kind of crazy (sniping and TFing) at the end because I thought we had a margin of victory.
  4. Matches Recap-

Round 1: PH brings- rad/psi, 2 psi/em, mind/fire, grav/ta, ill/emp and sonic/pain. P3 brings- 2 psi/em, fire/em, spines/regen, mind/nrg, ill/emp and arch/ta. The map selection was graveyard. PH wins 11-7. This round was actually much closer then the score would indicate a flurry of kills in the last 2 mins pushed PH ahead by 4.

    Round 2: P3 brings- ill/emp, spines/regen,2 psi/em, sonic/pain, mind/fire and a ta/arch. PH brings- rad/psi, 2 psi/em, mind/fire a grav/ta, ill/emp and a sonic/pain (Hey this lineup looks familiar!). The map selection was skyway. Again a really close match, PH just gets a few cleaner spikes and pulls out a 8-6 win.

Round 3: PH brings... well what is has brought the last 2 rounds. P3 brings- (IDK!?!) I was busy watching the champion pvp league drama explode. The match starts and one of P3's players *dc's* within the first 2 mins of the match. The team capts talk and agree to replay the round. P3 and PH engage in a fierce battle in perez park. P3 brings the pain (get it lin!) and pulls out a 11-8 win.

Overall, I am very impressed with how people have progressed so far, honestly, you guys are thinking and playing like pvpers and I am feeling really good about the progress of this event.

PH has built a really solid core of its players, I have to say I am really impressed with you guys and probably underestimated some of you when I made the teams.

P3 has progressed really well, having had very few players drop out of the league (3 I think?) speaks volumes to the cohesiveness (see what I did there!) of the group. I would like to thank MP for running regularly scheduled practices (which has benefited both teams).

Having said that- it is time to rebalance the teams. I will be talking to both team captains and I have a few options for them to think about. I know that some players maybe upset that they could potentially change teams, however, to keep a level playing field I think we should rebalance at this time.

Another item up for discussion which a few people have already posted on-a time change for our event. I would ask that people post their availability or non-availability depending on which is easier to state. The new freedom league is starting up and I believe that Philly, Smallz and maybe myself will be joining and it is currently slated to be at the same time as our event. If this is the only time that works I am more then happy to continue to host this event and forgo the Freedom League.

Last item- I would like people to start thinking ahead to PVPBC part 2. If we can get enough interest (I've had a few inquiries from other servers) I'd like to have 4-6 teams in the next rendition of this event. I would hope that all of you would continue to participate and help to mentor the new players who join us. Also I will need a few players to step up and offer to lead teams. I am about 50:50 on this being able to get off the ground with that many teams however, I am optimistic and would love to see a large scale event like this hosted by and on Victory.

    Current scores: PH 60, P3 45.
  5. Thank you to everyone who came out for this rendition of Victory Fight Night. We did three fun rounds of pvp.

1st round- I ended up being bugged and the kiosk was trying to 'rebalance' the teams, so I quit and rejoined and asked the person with the star to start it. The Kiosk seemed to think that putting the cold, the therm and the emp all on the same team with me was a great idea.. and who was I to argue. Due to the uneveniness of the teams it was a lopesided match.

2nd round- to make up for the horrid 1st round, I intentionally stacked the opposing team. It was pretty funny and my team ended up jumping from garage to garage.

3rd round- we had a bunch of players leave so I switched to my stalker and we played a round in the cargo ship. I had forgotten how much fun it is to play stalker, I miss the old days in siren's call!

4th round- we end the night with a FFA in the office, it was pretty chaotic and definitely fun.

Loopy wasn't able to stay for the whole event but he passed out a couple of billion influence and some pvp ios and regular IOs to people who were around . I know someone got 500 million and someone else said they got a 6 set of jav volleys.
Loopy also donated some funds and IOs to me for future pvp events.

Loopy- you were one of the good guys in the game, and personally I will miss teaming with you.
  6. Get yer game faces on!
  7. Tomorrow- Loopy and myself will be hosting a special FVN in monkey fighters club in Pocket D.

I hope everyone will come out and help me to wish him the best of luck.
  8. Very soon we will be losing one Victory's great players. After 6 1/2 years @Loopy has decided to hang up his cape and move on.

I consider myself fortunate to have meet Loopy when he started PvPing on Victory over a year ago, and win or lose he always had a great attitude.
Loopy also rapidly became one of my go-to players for any speed TF/SF I ran.

I thought it would be great if we can give Loopy one last great Fight Night in his honor, so tomorrow at 6pm est, Loopy and myself will be hosting a special Victory Fight Night.

We will be meeting in Pocket D, Monkey Fighters Club (Blueside upstairs) and perhaps we will move to a zone after a few rounds.

We will be handing out Prizes and I hope everyone will join us for some fun PvP and wish Loopy a fond farewell.
  9. lol yeah I guess it is 50-40.

I knew it was a 10 pt difference, I guess between the time I looked it up and typed it my mind had wandered.

Bumped as a reminder- Also this is the last week of the Champion PvP League and is a HUGE match for both Smallz and Philly. #1 team (theirs) vs the #2 team. Only 1 pt separates both teams. I would not plan on either of them being at the matches this Sunday (They might show but I am just saying this is a huge game for them).

  13. Yep I'd say its a typo for blasters, shockwave doesn't do -resist.

The description for Corrs is the same as the defender one you listed.
  14. Level 10 is best.

You can slot it sooner, and there isn't any 'enhancement value' to the IO, it only gives "tp protection" and the nice 3%def bonus.
  15. Syn-

If we look at the base numbers:

CS- damage: 441, recharge: 20 secs, cast time: 2.83 (stun mag 3, 2 secs)

HS- damage: 236 (472.73 with BU), recharge 14 secs, cast time: 2.33 secs.

GFS- damage: 247.25 (514.42 with BU) recharge 12 secs, cast time: 2.33 secs.

EC- damage: 241.84 (483.68 with FC) recharge 12 secs, cast: 2.53 secs (mag 3 stun 2.4 secs)

At first glance, yes CS seems OP (which is why you see so many of these running around in RV and such) it seemly gets its build up (+damage) thrown into each attack it does, however, here are some of the key points that makes KM not as OP as it looks:

1st) For powersets with Build up/focus Chi you can often get off 2 attacks while still the +damage buff is still running.

2nd) CS lacks the ability to 'critical hit' which a fair amount of spike damage to other scrapper powersets.
  16. Chop- Its going really well, this group of players have way surpassed my expectations as far as devotion and dedication to learning and trying team based pvp.

(that thing that we talked about on that ITF is still in the works, I need to round up a few more people for it).

    MP- Email rollbacks are evil.

Gravy- if you see this please contact me in game or via LoV boards, I have a job for you.
  17. Players who participated in CounterStrike please check your in-game email.

I sent out your winnings and the perf shifter chance for +end yesterday.
(it appears one email bounced back, please contact me if you did not recieve your perf shifter in your email).

Players from P3 banked a total of 250million and each player who participated recieved: 31.25million.

Players from PH banked a total of 350million and each player who participated recieved: 50million.

So far Victory PvP has handed out 2.36 Billion inf in prize money, along with 18 Karma Kb ios, 7 Crafted Kismet +acc, 8 Kismet +acc recipes, and 15 Perf Shifter Chance for end.
  18. Just a reminder- All official boot camp matches/practices are on hold for the holidays. Our next 'official' match will be Jan 9th.

For that match Alpha slotting will be allowed.

    Just a couple tactics reminders:

If someone hibernates/phases, as soon as they break free its a great time to target them, as they will have a 'no phase' period of 2 minutes.

If you can't out dps the emp's heals, it might be a good idea to target the emp. Emps can't use their 2 big heals on themselves "heal other and absorb pain", they only have their small heal spam.

Alternatively, arena temps like stun gernades, web gernades can be annoying if used just prior to spikes.
  19. Counterstrike recap:

    Round 1:

Team PH brings in team RAD, in the form of an ice/rad corr, a sonic/rad corr, and a rad/psi defender. Team P3 counters with a damage heavy team of: psi/em blaster; spines/regen scrapper; emp/psi defender. The real deciding factor in this fight was bringing an emp to a debuffing contest. Rock's fort counters the -tohit of the rads and their heal aura isn't enough to keep them alive under the assault of the team P3.

    P3 over PH.

Team PH brings a ill/emp, fire/em blaster, and a earth/nrg dom. Team P3 counters with an ill/emp, fire/em blaster, and a ta/arch defender. Bug does an amazing job on his ta sandboxing people however, Philly is spot on with her heals and this one ends up as a 0-0 tie.

    0-0 tie.

    Round 2:

P3 lists a grav/ta, thugs/forcefielder, and psi/em blaster on the cargo ship. PH counters with psi/em blaster, a rad/psi defender, and a ill/emp. P3 zones in on the wrong side of the map and makes a mad dash across the map and gets into the room. PH seems a bit confused by their tactics and peeks into the room, Ele gets trapped behind a pipe and P3 jumps on him, Justaris is there again with some clutch heals and Ryxx goes into melee for the kill, however, Wac is on target and is able to target him via the doorway, between Wac and Ele's damage and Justaris' heals. Ryxx ends up going down before Ele and he is able to escape.
Lin is able to get a few more locks on people as PH plays agressive rather then defensive, however, each time they are able to sneak out of the room of death before being spiked. Eventually, at the 8 minute mark P3 switches to agressive mode and leaves the room however they can't out damage Justaris's heals and without heals of their own PH picks them apart.

    PH over P3

2nd match- P3 brings psi/em, mind/fire, spines/regen and PH counters with a ill/emp, psi/em, and earth/nrg. Honestly, I don't know what happened this match I was watching the cargoship match.

    0-0 tie.

    Round 3:

PH lists and brings their goto team of ele/wac/justaris and pick the graveyard.
P3 counters with Bots/ff, Bots/pain,Ninja/traps masterminds. The MM's attempt to huddle in the small rooms off of the main graveyard, however, PH targets the lone Ninja MM and is able to spike her.

    PH over P3.

P3 lists- They bring their goto team of MP/Ryxx/ringer emp (yay smallz showed up). PH brings team "NOT GONNA DIE" invuln/dark tank, wp/axe tank, and Philly on ill/emp. After the longest 10 minutes ever, tie game.

    0-0 tie.

    3 ties
    P3- 1 win
    PH- 2 wins

    PH- 8 pts + 7 attendance points= 15pts
    P3- 5.5pts+8 attendance points= 13.5pts

    Total scores: PH-50pts P3-40pts.
  20. I had been taking components for every tf I've run, but lately I've been noticing that shards are dropping a lot on just lvl 50 content which is pretty much all I run so I've been switching back to merits.
