  1. Vasquez was right outside the door when Penny struck it. Uttering a small grunt of suprise, the Mercenary pulled the door open. "Holy crap!" He exclaimed at the sight, trying to help her to her feet.
  2. "Waaargh!" Was heard roared, and suddenly six more figures were on Archlich.
  3. Marcus flicked out the mini-sapstick and drained the energy from the light as it approached, returning with yet another blast from his shotgun.
  4. "Feh!" Curtis snorted at the request to leave his weapons out front.

"Okay you goons, you take left, you take right, an' I'll take wherever the hell this way is."

And the two set off, Curtis pausing for a moment to wait for Essex.

    ---

One of the TacOps soon ran into one of the 'bots.

"I'll fix yer little red wagon..." He grinned, and let a slug go smashing into the robot.
  5. Curtis motioned with his hand, and the two TacOps entered cautiously, the Gunslinger following idly.

"Y'all two act like somethin's gonna go wrong!"

    "Something always does..."
  6. "That's fer us ta know, pal." Curtis snarled, and the two TacOps lowered their rifles.
  7. "Whoah!" The Gunslinger exclaimed, but the TacOps brought their rifles around in less than a second. He held up a hand, letting them recognize the figure.

    "Well howdy Essex!"
  8. "Okay team, bossman says we need men at the LP and the Rail. I'll take the Launch Pad with my personal squad, Khel, I want you to take this goon," He pointed to the other guard at the door, a twenty-something grunt, "Fred, and three of the elevator guards from floors one, seven, and eight. Jason, keep watch over this building. Let's move!"

    ---

Vasquez' 'Private force' was considered by many to be thugs.

Those many would be wrong. They were Angels.

((Yeah...Outsourcing ftw. And I mean my Mercenary squad, not like, Jesus meets the corporate sector.))
  9. With a flash of a hand signal, Curtis and the TacOps bodyguards started off.

They had walked all of eight steps before Curtis yawned, clicking his group teleporter and sending them screaming through an alternate dimension, landing in front of the crystal structure.

"I hate that place..." One of the TacOps sighed as the troopers walked up to the guard, trying to put on their best "Badass Soldier" attitudes.
  10. The Maltan boys and Troll brothers nodded rapidly in approval, and began to file out of the fort.
  11. Curtis flicked out the slightly crispy paper from underneath his stetson, and the two TacOps eyed the robot nervously.
  12. (("Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid."))

A figure in black passed the slightly burnt invitation to another.

"Wha? I had ta light up, an' I was a lil' close."

The second shook his head, and read the invite.

    "Bull."

"Hell, boss, it'd be good to get our hands on it."

"Looks like crap, to put it bluntly. This isn't worth my time."

    "But, boss--"

    "It is, however, worth Curtis'."

    ---

"Rassafrassasmassa..." The Gunslinger muttered as Alpha brought the Huey (A personal favorite of his) down to hover above the street in front of the mansion.

Curtis and two TacOps rapelled down, and as quick as he was there, Alpha was gone, leaving the three Maltans to trudge to the door.
  13. Ramier plays piano...

    Prikker plays drums...

    Marcus plays a little trumpet...

    And that's about it.
  14. Vasquez scratched his head. Why was HE here? Bleh.

Standing to leave, he patted Khel on the shoulder as he made his way out.

    "Yer free to go, mate."
  15. "Incoming!" Reikoff roared, and suddenly the Trolls were there with him, the water ballons sailing from the fort once more.
  16. I interrupt this thread to send the following announcment:

    Waaargh!
  17. ((*Pokes experiment*))

    ((*Via artillery*))
  18. Reikoff squealed as the hose doused him, trying to hold back the water with one hand whilst pointing with the other.

"Gedder!" He ordered, and Curtis and Marcus charged down the ladder, racing for the girl assailant.

Craig took up a position on a tree limb, throwing water balloons down onto everyone's head.
  19. Reikoff and the others screamed as they were spattered and sloshed with literally gallons of water. This had the fortunate effect, however, of saving him from recieving second-degree burns from the fireball.
  20. Vasquez seriously considered scribbling some notes, but decided against it.

This isn't even my department...I hate 'high-level' meetings....

...I wonder what that secretary is doing later...
  21. ((I think Khell was speaking to Vaz.))
  22. "Many allies hav been gaddered!" Reikoff exclaimed triumphantly, "Fire rownd two!!"
  23. ((*Hides the Holy Hand Grenade behind his back*))

    ((And +10 for Essex.))
  24. Vasquez nodded. "I think we're about to start, so I'm gonna head in. If number two takes any more than five more minutes to get up here, gimmie three clicks, channel seven. Keep quiet though, 'cause you know how Tharomar gets when his security force gets chatty."
