Anyway, if you want to build something more modest, layer the costume pieces. You don't have to wear them over keyhole lycra. For an imperfect example of it taken to an extreme:

The problem with any outfit like this of course is that dresses aren't long enough, so you are forced into dealing with the length of the leg. This is a more or less unfixable issue due to how the game works. However, any time you give a model pieces that lace all the way up to the neck, I don't see how you can say it's not adding less modesty rather than more.

Short version: coats would still be nice of course but just because a piece is layerable doesn't mean you have to dress like a streetwalker.
I initially started this thread to point out the sexism against men; For the most part. Guys in CoX are being brushed aside or forgotten when it comes to new costume pieces.

The Steam Pack is an obvious and good example of this.
  2. Thanks peeps!

    Soul Mastery is awesome!

Nothing like a Build Up->Dark Oblivion->Fire Sword Circle->Combustion->Energy Absorption to start off!

Speaking about Energy Absorption, how do I slot it?

    I'm kinda lost...

    Yeah, definatly.

  4. Yeah, that's always bothered me.

How is a metal dragon bracer too girly for guys to wear?

Maybe I should get a wish list together with everyone here to make it easier for the Dev team.
  5. Reference: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=247757

With the new and awesome steampunk set that has been released, people are already complaining about the still lack of costume piece choices being only male or only female.

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...66#post3667966

The people have spoken and are still yelling at you CoH Dev team!

So the only questions I have are is when? And why not sooner then that?
  6. I know this is probably written down somewhere, but its just so much easier to ask.

If I get the Soul Mastery, become a Hero again, then Respec, will I still be able to choose Soul Mastery?

That would mean I need to become a villian right?

Can I keep those powers if I become a Hero again?

    *edit*

*looks through the powers in Mid's...*

Holy $#*$#(^@(#*..... Um... yeah. That would be awesome...
  8. I love my Ice/Fire tank

He's currently level 47 and looking to my first level 50 (finally... damn altolohlism)

This will be my first toon to get Epic Power Pools and I'm totally lost...

I'm currently soloing missions at +0x7. Some groups are easy, but I got my but kicked by others. So I'm not sure I should go with a more offencive because dead things don't hurt me, or more defencive so I take on more powerful enemies that have a +toHit which hurts.

I'm only using 3 Power Pools right now, Leaping, Speed, and Fighting so a 4th is an option too.

Not sure what to do, or even think at this point.

Yeah, that's the problem I have with Dual Blades especially. I don't mean to sound shallow but "It gets good later" always bugs me.

Kenetic Melee seems cool though. Was thinking about a KM/Inv scrapper, match the -dam with the +Res to equal win! Thoughts?

    Spines are ugly!

Well, I hope not; but mine are.

I've never been able to make a good looking toon with spines that doesn't turn out looking like some mutated blowfish with a bad sense of fashion.

So show off you spine scrappers in all their awesomeness!

    (Cause seriously, I'm lost! )

I can understand not wanting to "nerf" any one set when it comes to game balance changes, but I will never understand the desire to never speak ill of any one set, either. There isn't one great set to rule them all, hence why this discussion is relevant.
Really? No wonder I failed engish...

    Let me rephrase then with that in mind;

I really enjoy playing a MA scrapper (Despite the fact that its not the most powerful).
I have trouble finding enjoyment playing the other scrapper sets. Maybe because swinging your sword in a different direction isn't as cool looking as the crane kick or swinging your sword harder isn't as rewarding as jumping up, kicking the bad guy in the skull and then back flipping off of their face....

Mind you, since starting this thread I have made a Broad Sword/Shield toon and I can see some things that I like. Like being able to 1 shot -1 minions at level 2 without criticals. And now at level 8 with parry, I'm able to get my melee def up to 62%. I said to myself "OH! That's the appeal..."

I've never played a spines toon because I could never get a toon to look good with spines even though I really want to play that set. I think I care too much about the look and feel of a toon because its stopping me from playing what I want to play

.... Now that I type it out, it really sounds silly.
  14. What about a good secondary?

/shield seems to get a lot of attention. But having a damaging aura has been mentioned a few times, so /fire, /elec, and /dark right?

What are the best compliments to claws, swords, and spines for soloing +0 x8?

Well I like both. Example for me is blasters. I have snipers, ranged bombarders, and blappers. Some are careful and timed, and other are fury incarnate.

So I want the same kinda experience with scrappers cause I love em!

Spines have always been in the back of mind, but I've never been able to get them to look good. What's a good secondary for spines that will get me the +0 x8 solo mishies?

I think that's why I like my MA scrapper so much; because with Regen you need to make sure that the damage coming in doesn't out weight your ability to heal it. Stunning and knocking baddies on their *** is a great way to do so. Meaning that an MA/Regen seems to be a really good mix.

Would also explain why I was soloing mishies at +3 level at 2 heroes when I was level 30 something.

I juggled most bosses to the point where they only got 1 or 2 attacks off. Mind you, I have no idea what the level 50 mishies are like since I've never gotten a toon that high. Which is really sad because I've been playing for over 4 years... damn altaholism!

But thank you all for the feed back, now I'm looking at my scrapper as just a different flavour and now seeing what kind of damage I can do with the other sets!

    Hmm.... *strokes beard in thought*
  17. So I have a level 41 MA/Regen scrapper and I freakin love her.

she can Stun, immobilize, knock up, and knock back and take on really tough mobs because she can control the crowd.

Stun someone, then knock someone away, then take out who's ever left, rinse, repeat.

So then I want to build another scrapper and..... the other primaries just don't do it for me.

They're like 1 trick ponies, extra DoT, or lower def, or -acc, etc.

So what's the appeal of non-MA? I know there is one, but I don't see it!

    Help?

That said, I'd love a Baron Jacket for females, I'd love for them to make it so I could use the witch jacket with the fur shoulders, and males should for sure have the Hacker Top Design added to their list of top designs!
People are going to be uncivil with what ever you give them. Having more options probably won't change the frequency, just the flavour a bit.

Baron Jacket for females... I like that!

Since the game is already marked "Suggestive Themes" no change in rating would occur.

Drag only get you to T.
You can already make naked ladies, guys in fishnets, priest and child duos, and a whole slue of other stuff. I am so for costume proliferation!!

I have already made women out of the huge build and have gotten a lot of compliments and lots of money through CCs with them!!

    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=216600

From my experience, most people (like 90%+) are open minded and accepting. Personally, I'm offended by Demon Sumoning, Devil emblem, and other stuff like that. But I tolerated it because of all the good that I can do with this game and all the fun I have with it.

No matter what you do or don't do, someone, somewhere will be offended by it. Don't make the many suffer because of the few!!!
  19. Um.... seriously, there's a huge issue here. Why can't a male samuri toon have a panda on his shoulder? Why can't male toons have the dragon/cloud bracers?

Long hair works for guys... like this one
    http://www.finalfantasycosplay.net/w...hiroth_ff7.jpg

Skirts work for guys! Maybe no minis, but the long and pencil ones would. Could easily be called the lower half of a tunic! Didn't african tribesmen and hawaian guys have grass skirts? There's lots of options.

Guys are totally be left out here!

And this might be great for CoH Developers because all the meshes are already made! Maybe a little tweeking but otherwise would be easy compared to making something from scratch!
  20. I love blasters, I just find that after level 15-20ish you just have to play smart. Running at a mob with a fireball is going to get you dead. Unleashing your full wrath against a herded mob or 3 that's been taunted by a tank is where blasters shine. Or when they can't do anything because of a controller or the like.

Some one sets em up, and the blaster knocks em down!

So many times I'm playing a tank and I'm thinking to myself, I wish there was a blaster on my team!

But I don't think anyone has mentioned, unless I missed it (which I probably did)

    Dead things don't hurt you.

I'm actually playing my Sonic/Energy Blapper (That's right; a melee blaster!) a lot and I'm finding I can take down a +1 boss before they can make 2 attacks on me. Not drawing any attention with AoE attacks, I can wade through a distracted group faster then I could with any of my scrappers at the same level. I've been thanked for the extra damage I brought in, it is really noticable.
  21. 1 week to respec all my toons?

As a self proclaimed altaholic..... I had better clear my calender.

Would be nice if they 2nd one was part of the i19 badge you get for just logging in. Claim it like you do the veteran reward respecs.

Still REALLY excited about i19. I can actually fit in a travel power and a second attack for my tanks before level 20! Yay!

In short, take the alpha shots on your mastermind and try to keep the splash off the pets.
Be like a hurricane cannonball..... hmm... Interesting. Definatly worth a shot. I'll let you know how it works.
  23. Actually it was one of the Tanks. The big armoured bosses who's name I can't remember right now. It was the grenade launcher from his back that did it.

So how can I take alpha with a robo/storm MM?

    Send one peon in first?
Send in the assault bot first?

Jump in myself with hurricane and knock them all silly?
  24. I love my robo/storm MM... but... now I'm having trouble.

Got over to the hero side, ran up to a freakshow boss and with one shot, boom, took down my drones, my bots were at half life and I'm sitting there going wtf?!?

So, here's my build that I'm running right now.

I do have another question; Is the freezing rain putting out the fires that my Assault Bot creates with its missiles?
