Here's my 2 cents: Lazzarus hope you like it... it's fast, it's loose, but hey it's free!

Oh and mucho thanks for the vote of confidence Starchasm!

That's pretty flippin sweet for being "fast and loose." Really nice!

I think it'd probably be a good idea for people to just back out of this thread before it explodes. If Lazzarus wants to start contributing art and being a part of the community, then the ball's in his court.

Let's see a few pieces of art and get some trades going.

    Fourthed? Fifthed?

    Good call.

Best of luck to you, Laz. I mean that.

Either way, I should be updating you guys with some painting on it before the nights over

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Looking forward to it, bud!
  5. Any links to more information about your character, the better. It's hard to get a good feel about a character from just a screenshot.

Crey Reports, Extra Art, Fiction, etc are all great.

    Thanks!
  6. Hello.

While my Real Art (R) skills are subpar to the work offered by our many great, great artists, I would like to offer a unique service to our art & game community. As a designer, one of my favorite jobs is creating memorably effective logomarks & branding schemes for companies, nonprofit organizations, & churches.

Isn't it time your character had an equally impressive logo to go with your well-written backstory & visually stunning costume?

    What I Offer

Logomarks. Dang good, iconically heroic (or dastardly villainous) logos for your character.

    Portfolio of Logomarks

    Circle of Twelve
    Hellcat Jones
    O.M.E.N.
    Starchart
    The Icons
    The Imperial
    Transfinite League
    X-53

    A Few Conditionals

This is free, as my little way to give back to the community (although art trades are always welcome!). However, since this is a free service, please be aware that I cannot gaurantee anything too much.

This work is all dependent on my free time and the whimsical nature of my muse. However, if you'd like a logo for your character or supergroup, then please let me know.

I'd be more than happy to try my hand.
  7. Oh holy stinking crap - that looks just bad to the bone!

    <-- is giddy
  8. And it's official - this is gonna be SO STINKIN AWESOME!
  9. Oh man. Your work seriously astounds me, Graver.

With talent like that (and an obvious supply of schmucks like us who are willing to pay), I think you'd have a pretty good chance of just going freelance and doing this fulltime.

But then again, I'm not readdy up to speed on the economics of the fanart industry.

I guess that counts as a heinously evil super-villain, right? I mean, c'mon - he created the piano key necktie! How evil is that?!

    Mugato - Thugs Mastermind?
  11. You know what this one reminds me of, bro? (And I have no particular reason why this sticks out to me as such, but) I look at that and immediately the Secret of Mana video games comes to mind.

Maybe it's the light colors or the crazy tree. I dunno, but it's sweet!
  12. Shaping up pretty dang well, Graver.

Looking forward to the finished product.
  13. Dang, mucho impressive.

I guess that when my art rolls around, you're going to need to make Imp's hand the size of M1A1 tanks, then. Correct?

I don't know why you don't like the background - I think it adds a really great & subtle touch tot he piece. Seriously, very rad.

    Thank you!

That wasn't meant to be a dig or to start a flame war at all. It's just common sense - the more work you produce, the more attention you'll attract.

The more attention you attract, the more forum buddies you'll likely make, and the more responses you'll likely generate with helpful C&C.

However, Vorpal will be getting no quality C&C from me, because I lack any significant ammount of "real art" skillz.

    First Shot At TA

Don't sweat it too much, Vorpah, it seems to be that it takes a consistent offering of work for any artist around these parts to develop a critical mass of responses.

    Just keep at it.

I've been wanting to draw more big burly mens lately (since I seem to stick almost exclusively to cute girls) ...

    Almost There...

And, SweetThang, I really like the way you think. Unfortunately, on the staff, that wasn't a hidden reference to Thor's first appearance in marvel comics (I honestly know very little about the marvel thor )... but I really wish it was now. On the staff, the rune below Raido is Eihwas... the linking of the realms of gods and man... and looking back at it, I see now that I goofed a bit and penciled the rune in facing the wrong direction *bad me!* That will be fixed

As for the other rune in question, it is Naudhiz, strength from need and acknowledgment of one's own fate (or being tied to fate). Gebo would have worked in it's roles as unifier of individuals (Thor and some guy who becomes his assassin) but the sexual overtones of such a unification I figured might not be all that appreciated

    [/ QUOTE ]

Seriously - very impressive work, man. (Oh, I so can't wait till you get started on Imp!)

And thanks for not going all Brokeback Thormountain on us.
  21. Oooooh man. I so cannot wait till you get around to my piece in a few weeks, Graver.

    Soooo rad.
