The Masked Shrike

I'm simply having no luck finding someone to do what I am looking for, and so I am hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. I'm too dense to be able to figure out how to make:

desktop wallpaper (I've tried, I can't manage it)

those little slideshow avatar thingies (I know they annoy some people but I'd like to have at least one even if I rarely use it)

Does anyone here make them, or know someone who will make them (for compensation of course), using images from some of my art commissions (with permission from the artists, of course)? I would appreciate any information. Thanks!

Wow, art has been flying home to roost like swallows to Capistrano! I am a lucky gal Here are some of the new pieces in my gallery if you'd like to take a look.

First off is a new (to me) artist, NiYaDo, who is doing very affordable commissions right now. He did this piece of the Scarlet Specter for me. It's quite different, a style I haven't had done before. He also did it literally overnight.

I've wanted a comic-cover type piece for a while, and ProphetX did a really neat one for me. PinUp Girl and Proud Citizen in their first action packed, Nazi-kicking issue!

Also, it just may be that ProphetX kindly and generously sent me a surprise gift featuring PinUp that might be mildly, very mildly, NSFW. But of course you wouldn't want to look for it in my gallery, since obviously it's not there. Right? Ahem.

I just had to have a piece done of PinUp Girl in Ebony-chan's unique fashion! I really like her use of color and her almost Art Deco style.

And it's not CoH, I know, but in case anyone is considering getting something done by Ysa here's the newest piece I commissioned. If you're looking for something lush, romantic and detailed with a manga-ish flair, check Ysa's stuff out. I know KaraIblis had an absolutely gorgeous piece done of a CoH character which can be seen in another thread.

As always, I have no ties to any of these artists beyond a sincere appreciation of their talents.

I usually play on Virtue these days but I still have a stable over on Victory, and a few characters on Protector.

Beautifully done, and I enjoyed reading the story to go along with it. So neat to see the creative minds working together to tell the tale.

It reminds me of Van Gogh, except with more happy sun and less acute depression.

The fact that people can create things like this on a computer blows my mind. Even I can sit down with a pencil and doodle some little thing, so I can wrap my mind around traditional art. But these newfangled computer program thingies that allow artists to paint and draw with pixels...I can't fathom it. I have a primitive mind, to me it's magic. That's a little piece of magic you made there.

That is looking great, Bill! I really love when an image can do a lot while still being distilled down to its essence. If that makes sense. Semaj is a great find.

There really are some terrific artists out there who work at surprisingly low fees. I keep telling my friends this--they have a hard time letting go of the idea that every commision costs hundreds of dollars. There are artists out there whose work will appeal to all sorts of tastes and budgets, you just have to look.

That's simply classic (and beautiful, too). Extremely cool.

Great VV page, and Tatious' pieces are so cute! You can tell she enjoyed drawing Julie and there's a real sense of Julie's personality. Reading the page and seeing the art gave me a real feel for the character. Well done all around!

Bring on the fantasy artists to DA. I need more commissions of my LotRO character. And sometimes it's fun to have CoH characters depicted in other genres. The more artists the merrier, I say.
