Quote:You can find it linked in this thread 4 or 5 pages ago. I think Forbin Project is the one linking to it.I'd really like to find those old posts...I just like to make sure >_>
Basically the Positron one has him saying that the incarnate preview was being pulled because there wasn't enough to do with it for it to be a good preview.
Note that it was referred to then and even earlier as a preview. A preview is something that can and often does come to an end. -
Yes.
Spending $5 unlocks tells. -
No he wanted the notice of down time personally hand delivered to him by Matt Miller.

Quote:Yes it appears that whatever else is going on the Doctor needs to convince The Silence that he has been killed. If you remember one of The Silence watched from the bluff above. So I have been thinking. I recall it being mentioned in Let's Kill Hitler that his death was a fixed point in time yet the Tardis said in The Doctor's Wife that she had a number of console rooms archived that hadn't even been used yet. That now has me thinking more that the Doctor does something to fake his death so that he can go back to staying in the shadows.
It feels like a long scam on his part to trick them. I do think a Doctor is going to his death. We have seen that 2 of a person can be created in the time stream and note The Dead Doctor didn't have the TARDIS with him. I think he leaves Craig and at some point soon splits himself. One taking the TARDIS one using that wrist time travel thing. And it is the Second Doctor who actually dies. -

Quote:If you don't think the game is worth the money then don't spend the money. There is a line between 'game is good, I'll spend money on it' and 'game is only good if I spend money on it'.
It's the MMO equivelent of the DLC issue faced by single player games.
I'm not seeing the problem. -
Quote:Exactly nothing beyond a preview was ever promised at PAX or on the boards.Actually, the devs apologized in the beta and on the live forums that the Preview for the Incarnate system would not be in Going Rogue and had been postponed due to player feedback. The word Preview is paramount here as it is The word taste in the Pax slides. Both mean sneak peak and only that.
The fun part is preview doesn't even imply permanent access to something.
So your preview of the Incarnate system ended with City of Heroes:Freedom.
Not seeing the problem. -
Quote:Nope. If it wasn't in the advertising copy they where never promised it. Anything a dev mentions during prerelease is subject to change. Anyone buying something based on comments of a dev should be very aware of that and the fact that they are taking a risk that the feature will make it to release.Sure it is. If they didn't refund people who bought GR prior to Alpha slot's removal from the deal, then those peopel still purchased access to the Alpha slot. Hence according to Posi's words, they should keep access to the Alpha slot.
The rest of the incarnate system? To paraphase various 80's movies, "That wasn't part of the deal!"
But the only thing early purchasers where promised was in the ad copy. Not what the devs talked about being features in development.
Perhaps they should have been smart and waited before buying it. The onerous is on the buy to do due diligence particularly when all ad copy doesn't mention which ever feature you think you are buying.
I can believe that going to the store and buying milk includes buying your house. But unless the store advertised that I got your house with a purchase of the milk I didn't buy it. -
Quote:Where show us the ad offering incarnates as part of Going Rogue?Would be a valid point, but they sold it to people before the beta.
Not put up for pre-order.
Sold to, for full price.
The pax comments by Positron are not an ad. And as with anything a dev says while something is in development it can change or be removed right up until the thing is released. So it can't count as an advertised promise. -

Quote:A dev talking about a feature under development before release is not proof. That is just a dev talking about a feature under development.I consider a video of Positron stating at PAX that Going Rogue included the first tier of Incarnate access (which I linked earlier) fairly conclusive proof.
If the advertising copy and the box didn't say incarnates included it wasn't included in the final release then. -
You can solo with anything even an empathy/whatever defender. But for the safest fast soloing go brute, scrapper, or tanker.

That is a definite contact customer support on the phone type question. They should be able to help you with it.

Quote:Really. Ok, if it makes you happy to believe that you just go right along believing it.None of this even matters. The prices in the market are so stupid, this whole experiment is going to end in massive failure. The only people who are going to shell out for overpriced crap are the people who were going to pay 15 bucks a month anyways. Why pay 100 bucks on a game you will get tired of after 2 months when it would normally cost you 30 (only 15 if you use a friend code)?
Sorry, math problems guys, work em out or let the void take you. -
-
Quote:But the page you actually paid on never ever ever made any claim about incarnates. Not ever.If one of those isn't the page where people plopped their money down, then they add nothing except more fallacious non-proof.
At best there may have been ad copy or something from May or June that mentioned it once and then was pulled. Though I'm thinking all those references apparently go back to comments by Positron at PAX which don't constitute an accurate claim of what will be in the final release, but just what is being worked on.
Anyone making a claim that they bought it from a page stating that it included incarnates is the one needing to prove it at this point. There is plenty of evidence that such a claim was not made on the actual order page. -

You know I'm wondering if Olivia's not remembering Peter before will have an effect even though she shouldn't remember him now.
Oh and whats up with the one Observer. He went to the effort to make the device to somehow remove the last traces of Peter then couldn't bring himself to use it. I suspect he has gained respect for our Walter and his sacrifice something Walternate never could do.
And anyone think maybe we now have Universe 3 crossing into things? with the new shapeshifters? -
I actually found a bug with the Paragon Police one. If you have a tail it remains even in costume. So my dragonoid use the costume and stands there with this reptile tail flicking back and forth behind him.

The fix is to close the client and restart it. I had it happening to me a few days ago. Closed everything restarted and logged in just fine. ::shrug:: annoying but hey that is the nature of bugs.

I always find the different styles of play interesting to see. Myself I've used all of 5 o 6 respects total in 7 years on 70+ characters. And those where for changes in the game, ie fitness, and giving easy access to the tier 3 movement powers.
-
Actually no.
It is the people who are making the extra ordinary claim that Incarnates where part of the Going Rogue expansion that must prove their case. Eveyone who has looked into it and posted their sources has not found any support for that claim.
Therefore the burden of proof rests on the side making the claim that Going Rogue was advertised as having the full incarnate system included. A preview is not unlocking a system and a preview can end at anytime. That is the nature of a preview.
So it is incumbent upon the people making the claim that purchasing GR also purchased Incarnates to produce the proof of that claim. -
Quote:Both quotes strongly support the idea that the incarnate system wasn't part of Going Rogue. All that ever was intended was going to be a preview. The Positron Quote from here:

Positron - Alpha Slot Sneak Peek
War Witch - "a teensy tinsy introduction to the Incarnate System"
Both statements strongly support that idea that at most what had been intended by the dev team was a preview of the system. Not buying the system. -
Quote:Positron talking about features they currently have in an Alpha/Beta build of an expansion does not equal a promise that said feature will be there on release. Until an issue goes gold any feature can be removed, changed beyond expectation, added, or otherwise folded, spindled, or mutilated.Found posts with quotes from devs, trying to find the dev quotes.

Woah, that thread derails into a talk about DC, shame that was a not so good mmo.
And if all you have is Positron at PAX as your only source then you have no support for your case. None of official marketing or advertising mentioned incarnates.
