Quote:He has the skills of a radioactive orb weaver. As with the Sam Raimi version, I still find it a significant suspension of belief that a teenager has the mad sewing skills of Serge the Tailor to make a costume that sophisticated. (Mom was a seamstress, but I had trouble sewing patches on my scout uniforms, so this is something I notice, sorry)

Quote:Only useable by female characters, no doubt.WOW!
Look at the kitten model that's going to be for sale in the Paragon Market!
I wonder how much she costs and whether she is fully customizable. I wonder how she'll look in a tiny mask and purple star-spangled costume.
Thanks for convincing Noble Savage to do this for me ... um ... for *us* ... Zwilly!
(*huggles teh Zwilly*)
(*squees with delight at the new kitten model*) -
The seemingly arbitrary splitting off of "Young Adult" bothers me more than the lack of division between Sci-Fi and Fantasy. It horribly delayed me finding The Looking Glass Wars series at the bookstore. Meanwhile, Watership Down (which was one of the 10 I chose, I mind) is something I would think of as Young Adult.

The worst thing about Freedom is the name. Once again, I thought something was going to be about the server and it ended up being about the upcoming release.

That actor *looks* like a better Peter Parker than ol' poor-man's-Frodo. And I'm glad to see the mechanical webshooters.

This is not strictly true. It is merely functionally how it ends up. Strictly speaking, you just have to have Super Strength and be level 2/4. Functionally, to create a character with Super Strength you have to choose a power from it at level 1 when the only powers available are Jab and possibly Punch. If you could wait and grab Super Strength at a level when Haymaker is available, you could skip Jab/Punch.

The most difficult part for me was trying to find the last three of ten. I ended up choosing three that I liked but wouldn't necessarily have put in a top 10/100 list.

When you say Stan & Lou for some reason the first thing I think of is Stan Laurel and Lou Costello.

The Pancake thing started with a funny story made funnier by modding out swearwords which were then replaced with "Pancake".
Though I agree that the one-PANCAKE-per-letter implementation is a bit overboard. -

I love that the S emblem is big. The lack of red briefs bugs me, but as I understand it that's a Jim Lee redesign that is currently or will soon be appearing in the comics.
I don't care for the continued trend of over-texturing superhero costumes, but I can overlook that. -
That's pretty disappointing. The 'she's really only appearing as Selina Kyle' cop-out is just that - a cop-out. Especially if she engages in any sort of burgling.
Quote:So the color is wrong and most of the elements are missing. Basically, what you are saying, is that every female superhero in a skintight costume and mask looks like Julie Newmar's Catwoman...I can see it. Skin tight catsuit (though Hathaway's is leather and black instead of purple), high heels, same hairstyle, even the goggles are reminisent of Newmar's mask. The only thing she's missing is the cat ears and Newmar's wide collar, necklace, and belt.

I'd be upset if I had to pay for air... for a couple of minutes, at least.

Quote:It doesn't seem to me like they're taking away my City Traveller reward. It allowed me to pick a travel power 8 levels sooner than I could before. And when I21 hits I'll be able to pick one up 2 levels sooner than that.So um... about City Traveler, do we lose that? I mean from what I see in this thread everyone essentially gets a better version of that reward for free. Maybe it's me, but what amounts to taking away one of my rewards seems wrong. Hopefully they will replace it with some other reward gimmick.
Of course, I'd also say that what it allowed me, personally, to do was far more important than whether or not other people could do it as well. -

Quote:There's the anime Eureka Seven...A surfboard might be cool but it's kind of specialized and might cause some trademark issues since as far as I know there's exactly one character in all of commercial comics / animation that rides a flying surfboard. (If there are others I haven't heard of it might not be a problem...)

Community. The CoH Community is outstanding. Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and warm are a few of the words I regularly use when describing our Community to people who are new to the game. Rarely can you point to the Community of an MMO as a selling point, however in the case of CoH, it really is.
Sometimes, when I'm on my personal account, I forget that the folks I chat with on a daily basis here on the forums don't know who I am in global channels. The people you play with in CoH put you that much at ease

Who's cutting? Superman burns his hair. One can wave one's hand over a candle flame that would burn a piece of hair waved over it in a similar fashion.

I generally focus on single targets with my Energy blaster on teams. I love it when I get blamed for all of the AoE KB despite the fact I'm only using single target attacks.

Quote:Yes, I did. Hence, why I said DESPITE that she almost certainly is a security risk, I think that it might be a red herring.Umm...
Didn't you see the last couple of minutes of tonight's ep then?
Alyson's been hijacked by everybody's fav pyscho-b**ch. And if next week's preview is correct, Alyson get put back in charge of GD. With you know who in control right now, all hell could (and most likely will) break loose. -
