Quote:He's also the reason Lorenzo Music was replaced by the inferior Dave Coulier, I believe. All I want out of this is the return of the Real ghostbusters, and EctoCoolers.
I also have to admit I'm very bitter with Bill. Everyone knows he's the real reason there was never a follow up to Ghostbusters 2..and now everyone is to old or disinterested to return. -
Weird thought: Amy is the Doctor and River's biological daughter. Those parents at the wedding: adoptive parents who ceased to exist before Amy knew they were adoptive and thus were imagined back into existence by her as her real parents.

Personally, I've always wanted a story arc that allows us to restore all or part of Dark Astoria. I'm kind of hoping the combat phasing shenanigans they've got going gets applied to something of that nature.

Rory is like Arthur Dent with more Nazi punching.

Quote:Having very little makes it a simpler matter, as does having a great deal.I'm sorry to disagree with you and honestly I'm not trying to be callous but there are thousands if not millions of people with a lot less than you or I have (if I had to guess I'd say most with just the clothes on their backs) who move to what they hope will be better and safer places to live every day, and many of them are risking their lives to do it.

Wow, I passed on seeing The Avengers, but now my morbid curiosity is roused...

Perhaps. Though, while I rather enjoyed the original movies, I think the Ghostbusters were better in The Real Ghostbusters cartoon so I don't place quite as much value in the original original crew. The Extreme Ghostbusters had a few good episodes, if one could ignore the overuse of what appeared to me to be a Find Edges filter, but it did feel a bit like they were milking the franchise.

Quote:Fruit flies are more attracted to balsamic vinegar (which is made from grape juice) and apple cider vinegar presumably because they are *fruit* flies and possibly because the fruit-based vinegar is easier to consume than the honey. One wonders how the experiment would fare if one used other types of flies, white/distilled vinegar, and just for a lark threw a container of honey-based vinegar into the mix as well.

Believe me, I'd like to live somewhere else, but I don't have that luxury. I imagine many people have places they'd rather live. It's naive to think people just live wherever they want.

I would have customisable base stats (Strength/Speed/Toughness/etc), which would probably serve a similar purpose as AT modifiers and have varying costs and starting values based on AT, with costs further affected by current opposing values (for instance, raising melee/ranged damage might increase the cost of raising ranged/melee defense, respectively).
I would severely limit IO set bonuses (for instance: max 10% to any given Defense, max 35% global recharge) and increase Resistance set bonuses so that they were as achievable as equivalent Defense bonuses.
I would get rid of IO levels.
I would take the needless complication out of salvage - there would just be Common salvage, Uncommon salvage, and Rare salvage rather than a plethora of senseless specific things like Lucky Whatsits and Psionic Sammoflanges.
I would fire the guy from CAPCOM that they apparently put in charge of currencies, and thus avoid having Super Turbo Championship Merits Ultimate Hyperfighting Arcade Edition. And as he was escorted off-premises, I would have him flogged with the Wet Noodles of Shame. -

I hate elves, and I hate the Rolemaster system, but one of my favourite characters to play was an Elf in a Rolemaster game. Which is to say that I don't necessarily let my general dislikes get in the way of pursuing a concept (of course, the pursuit may become tedious enough in the long run that I put it aside, such as Rambo 20X6 the petless Bots/Trick Arrow Mastermind).

I'm not sure I'd put them in the top ten, but I have to give Eddings props for essentially writing the same story four different ways and making it rather engaging each time.

Quote:We've also been trained to shoot/hack inanimate objects whenever possible.Tactics and situational awareness are a lost art. The average gamer nowadays have been conditioned to either a) shoot/hack everything that moves and b) only use the accelerator in driving games.
Also: Nurburgring and Laguna Seca are brutal braking teachers, and far too common in racing games.

Quote:One of the reasons I don't often care to do TFs or iTrials is because there's so often someone handing out orders. Now, it's not that person's fault that the conditions exist wherein particular coordination is nigh on a necessity for success, but that does little to assuage the annoyance.I am not one that hates PUGs they way some do, but lately things have been getting worse for me. People flat out will not listen. Then yell at you for being a jerk because you are trying to implement some sort of strategy. I think it is because the game is "old" and people know what they are doing, but does that mean there shouldn't be any plan?
I was leading a Katie the other day. I literally gave one instruction in the first 3 missions. On the 2nd mission lead out I asked the team to fight their way down while I, the tank, grabbed her and started leading her back. Two people just ignored me and when I called them on why they were following me on said, "I have done this a hundred times, I am good" (obviously I wasn't asking who could survive to katie, so that wasn't the point) and the other said, "you don't need to give orders, just kill." Grrr
I have also had people block me because on Lambda I split people into acid and grenade teams. When they were in the wrong place, I told them (Hey Captain Whatever, you are supposed to be at acids). You'd think I called his mother bad names.
Maybe I am overbearing, but I REALLY don't think so.
OK done with rant. -

I hadn't seen a couple (though I was aware of most of them), and some of the ones I have seen at least a few episodes of I didn't find particularly funny. And I, too, found the lack of Night Court unforgivable.

For some reason I imagined this being like Quantum Leap, with Deadman possessing a new person each episode and solving other people's problems while investigating his own murder.
