Yeah the Goldbricker pack is pretty cool on the red side. But that flight pack they give during the holiday event with the jingles? That was nauseating... I would have prefered a Raptor Pack.
  2. I'd rather have two rads than two kins, let alone 3 unless those kins are controllers. Controls help more than most people give them credit for.

Thanks! That's what I needed to know.

Actually I'm respecing and want to take my permanent travel power later than 14. I'm planning to take it at 20, but want to make sure I have a way to get around for the times I exemp for TF's and such.

I have the Raptor Pack and I know I can get another flight pack that lasts for 90 minutes by running an Oboro mission (blueside).

My question is, after those two flight packs expire, are there other ways to get temp travel powers, and can we get them over and over? I couldn't find the answer to that on the wiki.
  6. Thanks guys!

    I'm going to respec...
  7. I tried to take a look through previous guides that had been posted on WP and on DB but I don't know if there's something wrong with the way the guides ported over or just my browser, the links won't open.

I can't find the answers to the questions I'm asking, so I'm asking you guys.

This is my first tanker, and I'm really loving wp/db.

My questions are (don't laugh), how do I slot taunt? Do I even need to slot it? Are there different ways to slot it? I had only the original enhancement slot with range in it so far.

On Rise to the Challenge, should I slot for -to hit? And if so, how many?

And, are tough and weave really necessary for a willpower tanker? I took the medicine pool for the occasional Aid Self, would switching out be worth it?

I'm using generic IO's, not inventions.
  8. I won't lie. I spent all of my time over the weekend in AE. I've been playing for (I think) a couple of years now and I absolutely hate life before stamina. I used the time to level a few toons I've been wanting to play at least past level 20.

One of these was a tanker who I ended up having a -lot- of fun playing and as a result, kept right on playing way way past twenty.

I've had a lot of experience in putting together PUGs and with few exceptions, I find the process easy and often a lot of fun. I have a certain combination I like in my teams and spend the extra time looking for specific AT's. As a result we usually end up blowing through reds and purples with little if any faceplants, so I know I build good teams.

I give you this background because I'm not sure what to make of what happened the other day! I was doing my usual, sending tells to a particular AT. I believe I was only trying to fill two or three spaces. I had sent a tell to a bunch of people. All of the responses were very appropriate, ranging from absolute silence to polite declines or acceptances.

But then I got this tell. "Do you have a 50 tank or fire/kin on your team?"

I was a 44 tank, we had a kin, but not a fire/kin. Besides which, I didn't really understand the relevance of the questions as I specifically mentioned "AE" in the invite.

    My response was "Uh... no?"

    Their response was, "Then no."

What am I missing here? Is this some kind of trend I'm unaware of? Was this person looking for a farm and thought I wasn't running one? And why 50 tank or fire/kin? I am really... really baffled here.
  9. For me this was the best 2XP weekend I've had since I started playing the game and it's partly due to AE and -not- because of the farming.

Usually on 2XP weekends it's also reactivation weekend so what you get is a lot of choices of a lot of people for your teams... but those are mostly people who don't know or don't remember how to play (either at all, or their specific AT's) so what you get is someone who's level 26 with no travel power, not even a temporary one.

So a team of these with maybe three people on that team knowing how to play, the missions are messy, you have to lead with an iron fist and then people drop without saying anything. In the past, the people I've teamed with for 2XP have been absolute nightmares.

This time, because of AE, building teams was easier. You could literally pick anyone from any level, even someone level one because after just one run they'd be level 16. Made it -much- easier to team with friends who might have wanted to switch toons constantly, without needing to worry about SK room.

And more importantly, because there was no free reactivation, there weren't as many people being rude, obnoxious and petty. I formed about four teams, constantly switching out people and I can say that every team that I formed was awesome. I had a realy good time this weekend. Leveling my toons was incidental.
