Also, why do you have to fight the gorramn Shivan EB *before* rescuing the invul/SS helping hand? Have the thing guarding the meteor instead, I dunno. Something that sucks less for slightly squishier ATs >_<

    Super Stunners

I could live with it being changed to ToHit check. It can get irritating. So /signed here.
  3. Short answer; Not happening

Long answer; They tried that all the way back in Alpha stage. It didn't work. See Champions Online, the other, less good game where they later had to put in an AT/Class system, because the free-form system is a nightmare to balance. Instead of balancing sets against the rest of an AT, and adjusting AT vs AT balance slightly, you have to balance every single set against every single other set AND every possible set combination all in one go.

I'm sure others can expand on that, and likely will, but the long and short of it is that it's a balance nightmare and not something the Devs have ever shown any interest in going back to.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't like to see a Blast/Armour or Assault/Armour AT, though. New ATs after so long would be good, and they have been requested before.
  4. Turns out, not sure when, that [Walk] got disabled in the AE quiet rooms. This never used to be the case; it was the one 'power' that could be used there.

Now you can't. If, for some strange reason, this is not being looked at, please do. It's silly and annoying. Ta.

Yup. I even went so far as to work that into my first Battle Drones character background; he was the first built, so his programming was the most basic. He was basically a big, metal attack dog with a gun on the side. He worked well, so my MM just decided to leave him like that, while upgrading other things like chassis and armour plating

Sure, it sucked to play Zombies or Ninja at that time, but my Bots/Traps was wonderfully fun.

And now? With all the pets running up to hug the enemies before attacking? My Bots feel ultimately fragil. And them dieing and getting beat up more makes me notice how stupid the Supports Bots are about well, supporting.

This combo is still very powerful... WHEN it works right. But now it seems to require a lot of micromanagement and more luck than it once did... which I don't really enjoy. I can no longer trust my Bots to take care of themselves while I drop Trip Mines, Poison Gas Traps, and Mortars. In short, the FUN is all gone.

Which is why I ended up deleating that character a while back.

I try Masterminds out on occasion, still. I highly reccommed anyone who has trouble playing Support Sets to play a Mastermind - that should teach them quick! But I doubt I'll play one regularly again until the Devs find a way to fix the AI issues. (Having more than one AI for all the pets would help a heck of a lot!)
Sounds like my experience, all in all. If they HAVE fixed the MM pet issues, then glory be. But I could not STAND being the 'controlling pets class' where the pets didn't actually gorramn obey you...

Have they actually fixed the Pet A.I. this time, then? I haven't tried him for so long because of idiot pets not doing what I specifically tell them to that I gave up. It would be nice if he was playable again...
  8. "No, go here. HERE! Crying out loud, do I have to teleport you? Do NOT make me teleport you, you pile of scrap!
Shoot them. No, SHOOT them! THAT IS PUNCHING THEM IN THE FACE! THAT IS NOT SHOOTING THEM! Ok, good, thank y- NO, NOT THAT MOB! DON'T AGGRO A WHOLE OTHER MOB YOU- ok, passive, follow. I said Follow. FOLLOW! This is not bloody rocket science! Ok, right, Defensive follow. I said DEFENSIVE. Yes, that means you attack them! Wha- NO, don't heal him, heal the Assault Bot!
Right, look, hell with it, you stay here while I go and toe-bomb that lot. Wh-?! WHAT PART OF STAY DO YOU NOT [Beep!] GET, YOU [Beep!] [Beep!] PILE OF [Beep!]?!?"

Normal day in the life of a Bots/Traps MM -_- Which is exactly why I stopped bloody playing him.

Every other AT's primary powerset is customizable. Why not MMs? Just some colorable patches on the bots, variations on the demon skin tones or mottling, different shirt colors for thugs, etc.

I don't believe that a coder is required for that one.
How do you think ANYTHING gets added to the game? Costumes, art assets, AI, powers....that's all this little thing called coding.

Apparently MM customisation is a big old hurdle for more than one reason, partly to do with UI, coding and other stuff. Along with simply having the time for it, given how far in advance the Dev team works.

Believe me, I WANT them to fix the gorramn pet AI so I can stomach playing my damn level 50 Bots/Traps MM again without putting my fist through the screen in frustration when they all go and try and punch a melee AV in the face. I would also like customisation. However, that has nothing whatsoever to do with the price of tea in China, and nothing to do with environmental art assets. (Other than the fact they both need coding time at one point or another...)

But many of the wishes for a memorial in this thread sound like backhanded attempts at getting even with the current devs for some reason.

Calling it like I see it.
Nope, just wanting the canon and lore to be accurate and, more importantly, consistent with itself. It didn't help that Psyche's death was a massive case of idiot ball catching when it came to story.

You seem to be under the false impression that Jack=Statesman

    Jack=!Statesman

Jack was, by all accounts, a daft wazzock who we are indeed best rid of. Statesman, however, was an integral part of the CoHverse story and canon who, in consistency with the story as only one of the best know, most respected Heroes who ever lived (despite some moments of bad writing), would have a statue or memorial to him without any question whatsoever.

To put it in simple terms; Superman somehow died, and stayed dead. There would be a massive statue or memorial to him. Without doubt. Same for Captain America, or any of the big, iconic and well known Heroes that people liked 90% of the time(I doubt they'd put one up to Hulk or Wolverine or Batman, for example)
Statesman is in that bracket. He would get a statue. NOT doing so is just a bad an Emmertism as anything else, and shows that the character wasn't removed for any real, meaningful reason for plot advancement, and was just done for self service and spite. And THAT crap is not cool.

Yup. The AR and Arachnos gun animations are 'bleh', but I LOVE the Beam rifle idle and firing stance (even with the Beam Sniper animation whoopsy) because that is how you hold a gorramn gun!. I would kill to have that option on AR and VEATs =/

I wouldn't think twice about buying them.
    Yes. YES. VERY YES!

I also want to use the Beam Rifle 'to the shoulder' stance for Assault rifle. Seriously, you TRY firing and hitting anything with a gun held like that. I will not happen. That stance is terrible -_-
  17. Uh....what? What the hell does this have to do with PLing? I....I don't even.

There are a metric ton of parts we already have that don't play nice with the sliders, let alone other pieces.

  21. Oh gods, I would *kill* for the IDF proper armour. The front plate just doesn't cut it for many concepts

If we got the Olympian, Resistance and PPD parts as full wrap around, with 'clipping' allowed for player discretion, why not the same for IDF? It makes no sense...

(And the VG back plate IS a back detail. The last excuse given was 'back details aren't possible like that at the moment'. Which, y'know, is now provably no longer true....so...)

Let's see, of the last few characters created (and avoiding a few intentional name-names,) in the last... month? Perhaps a bit more than that, I've managed:

Huntsman's Bane - Beast mastermind. First try. Of all of them lately, I *really* expected this one to be taken.

Voidbreaker - Surprisingly given my Khelds, not a Kheld, but someone who found an alien exploration ship (it's the rough translation of its name. Made to play with mecha armor.)

Daughter of Dusk - Double meaning, as this is the daughter of another character (Duskvolt,) and IC-wise, she prefers "hunting" starting at dusk. Dark/Psi Dom.

It's Demon Time - ok, this one's one I picked up just to see if I could, and because I found it amusing I actually could. Three guesses as to the power sets.

    Dr. Dreamtime - Dark/Time controller.

Not listed: Four name-names (four as part of a Family splinter group, one as a remake of a character from another game.) One Italian "name" for the same group.

Just off the top of my head.

And LOL at the "Being creative isn't the ideal solution in this environment" comment. Creativity, how evil! >.<
    ^ This, pretty much

It should come as no surprise when a name like, say 'Laser Boy' is taken. Because it's simple, it might well be catchy and it's also predictable.

Yes, sometimes it can be annoying and frustrating, which makes it even more satisfying when you get a name that works for the character and is free.

Grade A reason, right there, why NOT to do something.

If Champions, aka 'The Other, Cruddier Super Hero MMO' did something, that's probably an indicator to stay the hell away. Not always, but probably.

I never knew Jack. I wasn't here. I didn't care about, and still do not give two damn figs for, Jack.

I did and do care about the characters of States and Sister Psyche, despite the occasional bad writing the character suffered. In the game lore and canon they were important. If not some of THE most important, and some of the oldest, Heroes of Paragon.

To remain consistent with canon and lore, they NEED statues or a memorial or something. It is that simple.
