On a Regen scrapper here is what is the usual thing to be done.
First of all if you are outside Dull Pain dont stand still.Movement is everything.Keep moving to avoid giving target to stalkers.AS has a serious interrupt time and you need to be stationary for it to activate.
Reconstruction is key. Always have it ready when you plan to hold ground.I advise you to bind it to some emergency key to make it easy to activate.
So here is what goes down. You have Dull Pain and you stand still.Reconstruction is ready so you need be on alert. AS lands you hit reconstruction and there you have just survived the AS. Of course what happens after varies a lot.
a) Inexperienced stalkers quit it right there and run as hell.Is the typical newbies that know nothing else.
b) Experienced stalkers will immediately placate and either try to AS again or they will run. In this case you better move ASAP.
c) Really experienced stalkers might use presence pool and fear you (usual in the case of EM users) then attack you. So is a good idea to carry bf's with you to negate fear.
Some REALLY experienced regen scrappers can wait stalkers outside Dull Pain and use Dull Pain as a heal to the AS which gives them a heavy advantage of survivability over the stalker.BUT the catch is that if the stalker brings a friend to the party outside Dull Pain you are pretty much done.
EDIT: The most important tip is to just not give up.Is the only way to learn. The stalker will pull the trick 1,2,3,4,5 and after a while you will know exactly how to avoid it.It's a all about not giving up and this is how most of veteran PvPers go around with each new PvP toon they make. -

I will also wait to see Willpower numbers before rolling one for pvp. Dualblades will depend a lot on wheather the combo system means a lot of rooting or not.

Thats cause the current ones read 'minor' instead of 'superior'... Would be like comparing power thrust damage to that of bonesmasher..

Doesnt matter how much damage it does.I wouldnt slot a damage proc in a power for PvP even if it does more damage unless there is a significant increase in the proc chance. -

We dont know yet how much the set bonus on these babies will be.Without being certain i am roughly guessing and speculating that the new purple recipes might allow a few actual PRE ED figures.If there is a new +recharge unique we might even see perma elude and perma hasten easily attained.Regarding damage i dont think they will raise the base damage but the damage buff percentage coming with the set bonus might be pretty significant. -

I think the catch wont be only to how much they enhance but to the set bonus as well -

That would be really interesting to see. I am guessing a high damage energy scrapper would be a menace in PvP.Energy/regen scrapper? Hmmmm sounds a bit too much. -
My rad/sonic is level 18 and if it not effects your xp i can gladly join.Wendsday is fine for me.If i cant fit in is fine since it can give you time to catch up since next week i wont be able to log on CoX at all since i am flying to Japan on Sunday for work for 6 days.

It will be really hard to effectively PvP with this combo. PvP is all about spike damage.Assault Rifle really doesnt help with that.Try getting as much damage as possible.The stuns are nice for squishies that done carry BF's.

Seriously stop making comparisons that are not valid is beyond ridicilous. There is no such thing as "basic invul model" when we are talking PvP. We have a PvP spines/regen VS a PVP Invul/* If you want to test this bring your Spines/Regen in RV i ll put Ianroar who is an Invul/SS against your spines regen and let you there trying for as long as you like. There is no chance you ll score a kill.EVER.

The fact that you PvPed when it it was initially introduced and just because you stepped in an arena match once maybe twice and in a zone couple times doesnt say anything to me or anyone else that PvP's on a daily basis since PvP was introduced in this game and pretty much can tell you how any given combo will perform against another one when it comes to PvP.
Like i said talk is cheap you wanna make a point bring a spines/regen to RV i ll bring you an Invul and let em rip it till there is a kill. It wont happen. So either bring it or stop speculating about things that are not valid.
And seriously how is Geas of the kind related to a claws/SR and how is this all relevant to anything? -

So get a grip.And even what you were saying regarding Tanks and Scrappers back then pre IO's made no sense so the posts are just fine imho.We have also been pvping since day PvP was introduced in this game clocked countless hours fine tunning pvp toons and builds as well as zone tactics and we know just as well what can be done,what could be done and the timeline of events and how mechanics changes have altered pvp within this game. At no point have i EVER seen a good pvper with an Invul to be threated by a scrapper.The result is most likely always a tie unless human error comes into play.
When you get in the process of making a post involving mechanics and pvp when you actually DONT pvp that much,DONT spend much time in zones or arena or actually have pvp builds and generally lack the PvP experience to back it up,you should be prepared to be criticised by those that actually have and do.
Thats all i am off the thread if you want bring your spines scrapper and have a go at my tank i can promise you there is no chance in hell to score a kill. -

I think you misunderstood what i said.Most of PvPers imho that choose to step in a pvp zone at 50 are fully slotted "at least" with COMMON IO's i didnt refer to sets.Sets is a totally different story. But most out there step in pvp zones with full common IO's. -

You are comparing also in the quoted part uneven things.An invul on SO and whatnot. Fine let me accept for a second that you might just MIGHT stand a chance to score a kill against an invul due to the spines -recharge (which i highly doubt having seen some really good PvP Invul tankers on SO era). No PvPers steps in zone with SO's.Your comparison is pretty useless here.
The running away now.No sane person will proclaim "hey i am winning here" just because someone is retreating or mobilising. Nothing is over till the fat lady sings and thats when hp hits 0.The rest is smalltalk imho.

Ok you said Invul/Ice so i stop right there.Ice as attack chain sucks badly. 1 high damage attack and 1 high DoT with a hold and thats it.Noone in his right mind would deliberately choose ice secondary on a tank to PvP.

Pentad since then has changed a lot.Good empaths with PvP builds are not that easy to gank.It will require either a tp hold or some pretty heavy spiking in a pentad to manage to gank the empath so easy.Especially with the insane empathy pvp builds out there. Is not likely to manage gank an empath that pops fast heals to himself and has regen aura up every 50seconds or even perma.
To sum it up
- PvP tanks is nearly impossible to be killed by a solo scrapper.The only scrapper that might stand such a chance would be a BS with some really good spiking and still is really hard.
-PvP mobility is alpha and omega when you step in the arena or zones.The only static fights you will ever see is by those people that think pvp is "toe to toe fighting in WB/SC/RV" with brutes/tanks/scrappers against squishies demanding the blaster to stand still and not be a loser by jumping around.
Only other way to pull such a kill is by the tanker being totally new to pvp or not know jack about it.Or a player error. -

This whole scranking terminology belongs to PvE for mobs and not for PvP ok? A PvP tanker does a lot of things.I can go in a duel and tactically tank to my advantage so the whole scranking thing is wrong and doesnt belong withing PvP tactics and terms. -

No doesn't.In organised Arena fights tanks are tauntbots.They must lock down targetting of opponents spike. In organised zonal pvp same goes. In solo pvp every melee AT "scranks" but energy tanks perform usually better than most.

That depends on build : arena or zonal solo or team. Solo PvP an Invul definitely needs Aid Self.

Ok sorry but whatever you think you know about pvp and tanks you dont know really. This game PvP is all about mobility and everyone needs to move especially in zones and 1vs1 matches. Standing toe to toe is dumb idea

So if you come with your spines/regen in a pvp zone and i start spiking you and you move i can proclaim this as a +1 victory for me?
In history you know some of the greatest victories come from tactically retreating and then attacking."If you are running you are being beat" sounds awfully "dumb" to me especially since i play a bunch of PvP toons on a daily basis that need to be as much mobile as possible. There is a reason CJ+SS+SJ+Hurdle are a must in PvP zones for all AT's wanting to step in there and being efficient you know.
Also there is a difference between running away and being mobile while you are strategically avoiding melee contact awaiting for your DP or whatever.
Please spend more time in PvP zones.

Ok just to post here.Prolly your team is full but i have a rad/sonic defender on Union i would love to level in an all defender team.Currently sitting at level 16 so if team is not full or you missing someone once you get to that level feel free to gimme a shout @Tainted Greek.
