Eek! Still less then an Acc SO? Can anybody confirm this? If that's correct I would be better of slotting all 4 attacks with 1 Acc SO. It would cost me an extra slot, but if it gets a better result...are the tohit buff slots really that pointless in Nova?
Eclipse slotting: Would you recommend 3 rech/1 acc/ 1 resist then? Or just the 1 acc/1 resist you mentioned? (seems like it wont be up much then)
You say 32-38....do you mean dark extraction too? I figure the pet will be throwing out pretty constant AoE damage, so if he misses a mob the next AoE will get it anyway. Or would it be better to lose 1 dmg slot for an acc slot? (generally if I'm making an AoE build, I also slot for recharge and damage only, just to keep massive damage coming as fast as possible)
I know that with Hasten my attacks should be fine, but hasten isn't perma. When it's not on, I'm really gonna want those recharge slots in my dwarf attacks dont you think?
As for mire damage, I realise the human form doesn't do a lot of damage, but it seems to me like the dwarf form actually does quite decent damage, or am I mistaken here?
I'm not sure about the recharges in dwarf drain...it has a base recharge of 30 secs, and with 3 heal SOs it heals about 40% of my health...do I really need THAT much healing? (keep in mind, I am tri-form, I won't be perma-dwarfed...in human form I can just use stygian circle) Or am I really wrong about how fast dwarves die?
I've got a slightly altered build planned out, but will hold off on posting it till I get some answers to the above questions, to prevent a huge build every 5 posts :P -
Woot, we're both there now
Grats again dude!!! It was fun being your scrapper pet
I smell Kheldian duo fun in the distance! -
Hey guys,
I know that everybody has a personal build for kheldians that works for him, but I still think usefull things can be said about slotting. I'm going for a tri-form warshade, and I mostly want advice on the slotting I've assigned to powers.
Especially my 2 forms. Here goes.

A few questions:
Is it a good idea to 6-slot my forms or is this overslotting?
How do my attacks in my forms look? Slotted poorly or decently?
Is there any power in human mode I've left underslotted?
Not slotting my attacks is done on purpose. I've got my Nova Form for damage dealing, and I've got my dwarf form for taking damage (and the awesome dwarf mire/human mire combo clearly), so shields are unslotted too. Ebon Eye is the exception, cause I need somewhere to put my slots before lvl 6.
And can somebody please tell me how Essence Drain works? The hero builder description is a little confusing to me...
Any thoughts are very welcome -
Well your fulcrum shift will give the brute loads of damage. This works best when he does lots of area damage. So I'd say Fiery Melee, and get Fire Sword Circle especially. Fire Sword Circle + Fulcrum Shift = like a blaster nuke (or like your own inferno) without the end drop.
As others have mentioned, /stone brutes biggest weakness is a lack of speed. Your speed boost solves that, so go for Stone secondary.
So get a Fire/Stone basically. When teamed with a /kin, these guys are just SCARY lol. By lvl 38+ they can't be killed, and nothing survives more then 1 or 2 blows :P -
Yup, I too stay in melee range simply because I want my own fulcrum to hit me. (more damage = faster kills = less incoming damage) On top of that, if I want to heal myself, I need a foe close. I'd go as far as saying that a /kin is actually safer in melee/semi-melee range.
-
Which set would be good for huge damage combined with Kinetics? Short answer? Any :P
Long answer, I'd say go either fire or energy. Fire has it's AoEs a bit earlier, but I think Energy gets just as many as fire and does damage in one blow instead of DoT (usefull for killing stuff FAST). Mind you, the knockbacks in the energy attacks make effective AoEing a challenge. -
Yay, I was there for the ding! Once again, grats dude
-
Hmm bugger, it turns out I can't make it this tuesday. Would still like to try the /kin duo a week later however. Have fun guys!
-
Well we did used to suck back in the earlier issues, but ever since Issue4 (or was it 3 that introduced perma-elude?) we've never really been particularly weak at all.
-
Screenshot is awesome
Not sure of how to show it tho lol (where to upload etc) -
Oh [censored], the boss saw me. *hides spandex*
Yes...that's what this was...just...training. For Kosmos. *cough*
-
No prob, I'll be helping Ghost' to get to 50 in the coming days as well, so you're free to join with any of your many many alts
-
Well, 2 years after character creation (that's right, created this char at US release) I finally got my first 50 tonight
Almost pathetic, I know, but it feels great to finally have one
Major thanks to all those I teamed with, especially to Ghost' who made all of this a lot easier
You're up for 50 next, buddy! -
I realise that, but I'm not sure what to drop. It seems to me like DT is too situational to be worth it to drop any of my other powers. If I get placated I can also just run off for 10-15 secs.
-
Ah I see now...the activation is indeed nearly as long as a snipe attack. That's quite awful indeed. Good point
-
SR underwhelming? Bah, you should see me in the later lvls. I keep up (and regularly outlive) regens with ease.
-
I'm not a die-hard badge hunter, but do like to pick certain ones up. This definetely is one I'd like to have, sign me up @Solar Flash
-
I have a lvl 40 Energy/Kinetics. I have 8 powers from my primary, and 8 from my secondary. I am not a blaster. I am not a defender. I am death incarnate
Alright, seriously this time, being a /kin lets you skip a travelpower (for PvE purposes anyways) and lets you focus on your own sets. I have stupidly high damage (fulcrum shift+...well anything really, but nova REALLY does the job right :P) and since I have every /kin power but repel, I am great for buffing and healing too. It can be tricky to heal the ranged types that don't realise my heal is mob-based, but in general my team has no health issues, certainly doesn't have end issues, and the dmg is great too :P
I must add tho, that by taking just about all your primary and secondary powers, you can really get a headache from all the multi-tasking you'll be doing :P -
Wrong. There is still the total change in the way defense in general works. Even if the set stays the same, we'll still get a pretty big buff.
-
3 slotted PB (with SOs) is perma by itself. As a matter of fact, you just need 2 recharge slots in PB to make it perma, with or without quickness (IIRC). I am 100% sure that with quickness and 2 slots it overlaps too.
-
What lvl are you at now?
I think Focus Chi at 24 is a bit late, but it can be done. Quickness at 47 however....I don't know, I wouldnt do this personally! (I LOVE quickness)
I say drop aid other for quickness, and get the medicine pool in your 40s. That's just me tho.
And yes, Jump kick is indeed horrible....another thing I wouldn't do :P -
Just out of curiosity, why aren't you picking up bitter freeze ray? I have no clue if it's any good, but it seems to me like it's a nice backup to freeze ray. It let's you stack 2 holds on a target, surely this has some sort of advantage?
-
Yup, I also think posting ideas for the next workshop in advance could be a good idea. Only if we have such ideas tho :P
As I stated before, I would very much like to try a duo with another /kin corr. Mind you, this corr would need at least ID, SB and some damaging attacks. (ie. not a lvl 20 one :P) -
This is undeniable ofcourse. Nonetheless, my char has taken all but 1 power from each of his AT sets, simply because he could skip a travelpower. Now I can see by now that not having a travelpower is actually a very bad thing in PvP, but it still lets me experiment with a great deal of my primary and secondary powers.
I can tell by now that no kinetic will ever be a decent PvP healer :P (then again, who couldnt)
By no means am I suggesting that whatever is thought of here will be the best idea we will ever have. But we're gonna have to start somewhere. PvP builds will have to evolve from PvE builds, and workshops like this are a very good way to do this.
Anyways this discussion is really shifting away from what it's supposed to be about.
I think Ice/Thermal (I think Kin mentioned this) is probably one of the better ideas for a PvP corruptor. In his secondary he gets an excellent mix of buffs, debuffs and heals. In his primary he gets slows, 2 holds and probably the best burst damage of any corr primary. Definetely a lot of potential.
