8 years ago that was me. Unless your game time is actually keeping you from job hunting it is a very worthwhile diversion because there is no way to hunt 24x7 and hunting is very discouraging.

I hope you find something soon.

I wanted to add one other pro-laptop reason over desktop and one pitfall of laptops.

I like to sit in my recliner and watch TV while I play City and a desktop wouldn't work for me.

I have 2 different ones. The Dell weighs about 8,000 pounds (not really) and gets nuclear reactor hot (really) on my lap. The Toshiba is very light and blows warm air at my armrest which can get hot (the armrest) after several hours.

So if you like to be lazy and recline on a recliner and sometimes even a bed, a laptop is nice but make sure the thing isn't really heavy and that it doesn't get ridiculously hot.
  5. I'd be able to play more since work would become unnecessary.

Payback's a you-know-what. It's time for all the vigilantes in the game to take on Manticore and for all true-blue heroes to ostracize him for killing his wife like Superman voting out Flash from the JLA for killing many years ago.

That's an unfair and false view. A villain who has redeemed himself/herself isn't inherently less pure than the hero who simply has not fallen yet. It would depend entirely upon the "story" of the character and the character of the character.

A hero could be a hero always, a hero turned vigilante turned villain turned rogue turned back to hero, a villain become rogue become hero, a Praetorian to hero, or a Praetorian to villain to rogue to hero.

In real life or in a crafted fictional story we would know more of the character of the hero but in the game it ought to be programmed to treat one who is currently a reinforced hero as a hero. They can view any villain, rogue, vigilante or even a hero with some vigilante tips done as someone to suspect but any full blown hero who just saved the world ought to be given respect.

  10. Before converters people threw reward merits from super packs at getting Miracles and drove the price down. Now reward merits get thrown at converters reducing the overall supply of Miracles again while the converters get used on purples and PvPs.

But 800M sounds like an extra 0 error.

This could actually be pretty well done. He would have a bone to pick with Longbow and Arachnos. All he really needs is a mentor or benefactor lending him some spine and brains.

That's the problem I have with newer content - the sum total of its selling points are "it's not horrible and it's worth running once." Sometimes.

A fun arc, and it's nice to actually feel like the protagonist again after the "sit back and watch the NPCs do stuff" of #s 4-6. I'm not looking forward to trying to run it on my mastermind, though.
To be fair, at 50 odds are you already put Recluse on notice by handing him his helmet and you aren't really under your patron any more if you finished their arcs. Though it would be extremely cool if someday the dialog could reflect whether we have done all that or not.

And if you are an Incarnate then you are even that much more awesome than your patron.

I really wish there was more villain stuff to do at 50 that reflected one at or even possibly above Recluse's power but then that opens the door to you are the new Recluse or even possibly Tyrant and everyone is gunning for you. A major pitfall of a MMO I guess.

Okay, morning login...never thought I'd say this, but I miss the old login screen. Statesman's Crotch haikus aside, the new one just looks like a low budget Alex Ross ripoff. The old one was dated, but at least had some variety and looked like the game.

And HOLY COW, all my vet rewards arrived via email!
    What's this CLAIM ALL button?
    WOWOWOAAAAAH!

Now THAT is a gigantic QOL improvement. Even a little pop-up window warning me I'll have to pick an attack or pet or whatever.
    Very, very nice.

I also just found several what appear to be level 1 IOs in my tray?
Will of the Seers, Might of the Empire, Clockwork Efficiency and a few others.
Much nicer than blowing inf on fast expiring trainings, but I wish I'd noticed how I got 'em.

    Okay off to work.
    More later.

I don't know if they are for all or for certain levels of Premium or VIP players.

Word of advice on the Paragon Market, use the search box if you know any keyword to get to the item. It is much quicker than drilling down for many items.

Check out what is there at the wiki. Lots of good stuff.

My free time is still too limited justify a sub, but this 'free to play' revolution seems tailor made for my extremely limited schedule.

The new installer made me re-download the whole game so I haven't done much poking around, just logged in the Goat and checked the Sharkhead market (one sold item and 20 recipes purchased for some scheme I don't remember, wheee!). Limited slots is annoying but I haven't got the time for alt-itis so I'll just focus them on the characters I want to play.

The forum limitations are irritating- not sure how I'll live without my beloved market forum. Would it kill them to grandfather in players with 4+ years of paid sub time? Feh!

I'm going to work on wrapping up loose ends- finishing my uber l337 AR/Dev retrofit, finishing off the badges on my crafting guy, maybe throwing a few billion on the fire for SG prestige (if I can even do that with a leech account).

Anyway, howdy to all my old pals, and everyone else- hope to see y'all in-game.
    Heya 'Goat!

You came back in time for converters to turn the market on its ear.
  20. So far I've had such horrible results with converters that I won't be buying any of them. When I get them as drops I will take the chance but otherwise I'd rather keep my merits for other uses.

See, I notice that there were some people that were paying twice as much for recipes as for the IOs themselves.

This means 1 of three things:

    1. Several people pressed one too many zeroes.
    2. Someone foolishly forgot to read the latest patch notes and wasn't aware that the prices were dropping.

    Or
    3. They have a lot of the crafted IOs for that recipe for sale, and they want folks to either burn up all their converters to get what they want, or pony up the inf and buy that persons IO at a price that by todays standards is probably about 10 to 20% higher than we've come used to.

I looked, but didn't see any post about Alignment and Astral/Empyrean merits being able to purchase the enhancement converters, but my understanding is that it will be possible soon. And, because for most of us, it's not that big a deal to get a toon to 40 and confirm alignment - even though there will be a cooldown, I suspect it won't take us long to use the other merits to get what we want.

I do see prices rising a little bit over time. How much? Can't say, but my guess is about 600 mill when things calm down. Greed will get the most of some folks, but impatience will get the better of even more people.

Purely conjecture on my part. I could very well be wrong.
I would point out it does not have to be 1, 2 or 3. It can be 1, 2 and 3.

I have come to the conclusion over watching the market behavior all these years that some people never compare recipes to enhancements even when enhancements are selling cheaper than recipes. Because of this I have always compared the price of the recipe and the enhancement before I craft my drops. People are really slaves to the perceived "price" of the items based upon the current last 5 sales or their own memories of what something is supposed to cost.

Also people tend to play at the same times and days of the week which means they often do not know that an item is cheaper or more expensive at other times of the week.
  23. There is also a weekly reward of 1 Astral Merit which you can convert on that character to 4 threads or send off to your account to be claimed as 4 threads via Astral Christie in Ouroboros.

But as Feefa J wrote each SSA gives you one reward one time as the first time reward for it but then all of them lump together in the once per week per reward timer.

So if you have not run any of the SSAs with your 50, run them all and get the first time reward for each of 10 threads and then run one of them again and choose the weekly reward of 10 threads.
