You said PvP - that includes both zonal and arena. Arena wasn't dead therefore PvP wasn't dead.
Either way - if you see everything about 'your side winning' then thats the wrong view of things to take.
BTW - Rent is right and everything he says on here is pretty much spot on. He has my full support. -
I agree - PvP was not dead before i13.
The blanket statement that there was nothing good for PvP from i13 IS a lie.

If they want to bring PvP to the masses then make all the zones pvp zones where you can kill your own side as it were.
And have it so that when you get killed you drop 1 level and xp get deducted!

Yep - the way mezz protection works, attackive toggles, damage resistance, surpression, diminishing heals - has sounded a death knell for the PvP in this game.
Effectively rad is now next to useless in the arena because it relies on EF and RI being on the target. Now anyone can drop my rad toggles by hitting me with a mezz.
If I thought cold corrs were tough for me before, I dread to think how tough they will be now.
i13 is a major step backwards for PvP. Thats the first time I have said this. I didn't think the changes in i13 would be as bad as people made out. I was wrong. Testing this last night in the arena proved this to me.
There have been a list of improvements suggested by the player community as long as your arm for well over 2 years now. They have done some of these like the selectable arena maps - but the ones that the Dev's have come up with on their own are bad and should not have been implemented. Which group of players actually wanted these changes that they have made? None that I know of.
The problem in, the Dev's have got an idea from nowhere that what players want to make pvp more accessable to the masses is to make it easier and dumbed down. That isn't the case. A bit of balance between the builds and AT's is what was needed - focusing on individual powers, rather than changing the format and core of pvp itself. -
I don't think there are any players left to test the new PvP for the Dev's...they seem to have all left. Does that tell the Dev's something?

I can't believe I am saying this but I actually agree with Shannon to some extent.
I would like to see the poorer performers in PvP brough up to a level where I can fight them and they have a change of beating me.
I saw a porr kin/elec defender trying to beat a scrapper in the arena yesterday. I have a kin/elec myself. Great debuffs but the damage of elec was laughable. Sets like this could be improved and restore balance to an unbalanced game.
Saying its balanced for teams and not solo is rubbish as well. While I agree that sets like kin and bubbles are always going to be much more of a team asset than a deverstating solo build, I think they should still have a chance against a bog standard, run of the mill scrapper with very little pvp skill.
The def did manage a 1 all draw in the end, but the scrapper was so bad that should never have happened. -
Why have surpressionj at all? Why not let people fight at full speed and run away if they need to at full speed?
They were worried about kiting which isn't something to worry about IMHO. If you have a blaster running at full pelt towards your and you don't have your attack queued up them thats your problem. You can kite them, they can kite you - all is equal. -

We used to all get together and have weekly raids. The dev's changed Hami because they didn't want it to be weekly?!?!?! [censored]? Was weekly too often for them?
Devs: 'Oh no - we don't want all those uber HO's floating around.'
Well guess what mook-Devs - we have IO and STF HO's that are more powerful in some cases than the original HO's.
Now we don't even do it yearly. Might as well not have that entire zone now and forget that Hami exists.
They managed with 24? Well bonk on for them! Obviously the secret legend of the 24 cannot be cracked. Some weird combo like 23 ill/rad conts and an ice blaster, i'll wager. -

Have you seen the powers that have been added to the villain epics now? Villains will be much stronger in pvp which I think they needed to be tbh.

Its still incorrect. I couldn't see it as a killer. The way I was brought up and my genetics means that its not possible. The way the world is is the only way the world could have turned out you see. No way to prove otherwise but thats determinism for you.

A player left our SG because our leader refused to boot someone from it because of an arguement they had had between themselves. She took about 1 other SG player with her that I knew and wrote a big long post of what she thought was wrong with the SG. I write a really nice post on the SG forums stating why her 'please boot X' was denied (on behalf of our SG leader) and also completely blasting/obliterating any points she had come up with but still being nice, polite and fair. The next time I log on I am met with a torrent of abuse. - which I just found amusing really.

I don't understand all the fuss really. As I'm aqlways chucking out a hold or a blast then I have always been fighting under surpression anyways.
I don't think in a fight I am ever not attacking every 2 seconds. Even in between heals. -

I remember, back in the day, when people looked at me and thought I'd just made a FoTM fire/Rad char. They didn't realise that Fire/Rad was never FoTM - just I played it so well that a few people had started to think that it was. I stopped playing a lot when IO's came out but I am starting to get back into it now and am starting to IO up my fire/rad.
I think once IO'ed up I'll be able to give any set/player a run for their money. -

A couple of reasons for fly on ill/rad.
1 : Yes, there are more anti-fly powers. but a) Not many people use/take them and b) hover is a quick toggle to fix that
2 : With ill/rad, movement is NOT key. Staying out of melee range whilst is however. Fly is the best answer here whilst still maintaining LOS and range.
3 : with indom-will from psi epic, plus KB resist IO's, you don't need acrobatics, especially following the accro nerf.
I don't take fly on melee toons/blasters for obvious reasons.
Having respecced ALL travel powers at various points on my ill/rad I have found fly to be the most useful. I have SS too for travel in zones and/or escaping a bad duel moment. Ideally, I would have TP too to escape immobs, but nowhere near enough slots

As a side note I still like Fire/rad for the faster damage. Those imps just seem to scare people.
