Quote:I'll be the first to guess. Conflict and myself. Ok, please meet me under the atlas statue to transfer the money. Don't worry con, I'll give you half.
2 billion influence to the first person to guess which 2 im talkin about.
By the way, I've never reported a single post in the history of these forums. Just throwin that out there in case you may be interested in reality, instead of just your stupid assumptions.
edit: damn you con! you beat me to the moneyz! -

Quote:Are you serious? I PvP'd in sirens for many years, probably more than almost everybody in the game. You know how many times this happened to me? Zero.Using TP Foe to pull someone out of the Siren's Call hospital with a sliver of health is borderline jerkish.
There's a 30 second countdown where you're 100% untouchable for a reason. If you can't walk 15 feet in 30 seconds to leave the zone, something is wrong with you, not with the person trying to kill you. It's pretty natural in PvP to go for the weakest target. You sound like a really easy target. The solution is to get better and play smarter, not to blame your opponents.
To reiterate, I've spent more time in sirens than you probably ever will, and I have not run into this a single time. I think you're really exaggerating. -
Btw who is Louie? Keep hearing about him. What toon(s) does he play?

Quote:lol are you serious? That was a joke thread.
I guess you only talk smack on the forums and not ingame. right!!!
You're calling someone a trash talker because they said in a joke thread that they're "good at bcast PvP"? Wow, ok.
Maybe you should actually run into someone in the game one single time before you make accusations about them. -
Not sure why you had to ruin a pretty good post with this bs.
Con and barrier don't talk trash in zones, unless someone starts it with them first. And I talk less trash than they do, by a large margin. 99% of the time I don't even talk in bcast, unless I'm talking to one of my friends.
Please don't make yourself look ignorant by making completely false accusations. -
Quote:People only care about jerks when they lose. If there's some guy talking trash to you, but you keep owning him over and over, it's not unpleasant at all. The opposite, in fact.. The biggest complaint was people being jerks in the zones.
So no, the problem wasn't jerks. It was that some people, through years of practice, were able to be better at the game than newbies. When a PvP newbie could solo an AV but got owned in 10 seconds every time he stepped foot in a zone, he got mad. The devs decided that this had to be changed at all costs, with zero regard for the consequences.
That's how I13 happened. Not because they wanted to drive away paying customers. Because they were willing to, to make a level playing field.
The problem is they were 100% clueless about the game, so they couldn't make almost a single good decision. So instead of the desired level playing field, we got a system with 3 times the problems the old one had. And yeah, there are about half the viable powersets than there were before. -
Quote:Yeah, it's unfortunate, but expected. Of course we can't expect them to do everything we want. That would be unreasonable, since we're a small portion of the game population.
So yeah, it may seem as though they take a "Don't like? Too bad" attitude, but in fairness again I think this because their responsibility has to deal with everyone in the game and not just the PvPers... even when in regards to just PvP.
The main issue, however, is that we're simply not asking for that much. We're not asking them to spend a year of work to implement some brand new feature. We're asking them to fix game breaking bugs, something that should already be their absolute highest priority.
When they routinely ignore bugs that are literally ruining the game, and instead spend all their time and resouces on stuff like adding QoL features that not a single person ever asked for.....well, it sends a VERY clear message. Either they are really the stupidest people in the entire gaming industry...or they don't care about the PvP segment of their game AT ALL. And I kind of doubt that they're the stupidest people in the industry, because the PvE game is very good, compared to most MMO's.
That leaves one answer. They don't give a ****. So in return, I don't think that our actions will have ANY impact on the future of the game. We can call them gods and kiss their feet...or we can call them morons and say they suck.....in the end, PvP will still be an ignored bugfest. -

Quote:Bad analogy. A better one is you go to a restaurant and order your food, pre-paying for it. Then once it's paid for, instead of bringing out the burger you ordered, the waiter brings a plate of feces. You don't degrade and disrespect the food server that will be handling your food in a restaurant.
I'm pretty sure most people would degrade and disrespect the waiter in this case.
The difference is...in the real world, after that happened, the waiter would say sorry and do everything in his power to correct the problem. In this game, the "waiter" essentially says "don't like it? too bad. it wasn't even prepared for you anyway, so deal with it."
The devs have absolutely no clue what "customer service" means. This is very clear. -
Yes it's very good. A pain MM in PvP is basically unkillable, if built and played well.
-
That sounds about right. It's the 2nd strongest attack in PvP behind stalker AS.

Quote:Because I do occasionally enjoy the game, and +/- $15 a month is not really a factor for me.If you're THAT unhappy with how they run the game, why are you STILL giving them money every month?
I don't hate the game. I hate what the developers have done to it, and most of all, I hate their commitment to zero improvement. If the $ amount was actually significant, trust me, I would not be paying it. -
Quote:You're wrong. It was a very old change they reversed. Like I6 or something. A change they had reasons for, and all of a sudden those reasons disappeared. Of course, with no explanation. Now, correct me if I'm wrong here, but wasn't that an i13 change that they reversed?
Again, even with the "bad" community we have now, there is a very clear list of the current problems. It contains very serious game breaking bugs, which have ruined the game for a very long time.
So what do they do? Ignore ALL those problems, and spend time on something that nobody's asked for in like 3 years, because it really wasn't a huge deal. And then also spend time on a brand new feature that nobody asked for EVER.
Why? Why would they purposely ignore what's clearly NEEDED, and spend time on pointless things? Sure, this one time, the pointless things aren't actually bad. That's a surprise, coming from these devs. But just because they aren't bad doesn't change the fact that NOBODY ASKED FOR THEM!!! Instead of fixing game-breaking bugs, they routinely spend time on pointless QoL things. And no, these QoL things aren't easier than fixing the bugs, as was shown to you in posts above.
And the thing is, none of us are surprised at this point. Because this is how they have always been. Very deceptive at best, and completely dishonest at worst. As mentioned, the ONE time ONE developer said how things really were, the next day he was no longer employed.
The player-developer relationship is a two way street. They have treated us like **** since day 1. They deserve the same thing, until they actually do something we ask for. We're the ones paying their salary, not vice versa. -
Quote:Obviously not. Because if you had any clue, you'd know the number wasn't even remotely close to 3. More like 300.I have more of a clue than you think I do. I bolded the part that is exactly my point.
People that generalize to that extent are really stupid. Please don't do it. It makes you look really dumb. -
I don't know con, I've owned quite a few people in bcast PvP. For many years. I have to give a mention to BB too.
-
Quote:Wait, you mean they wanted to drive away paying customers and lose money? Interesting idea. You guys do that at your software company? The developers obviously want the PvP game to be something other than what the hardcore PvPers want it to be.
All the "hardcore" PvP'ers wanted was better PvP in general. Not just for arena 8v8's, but for everywhere. Instead, we got the trash that is I13. Nobody with any understanding of the game can say it's better than before.
There are far less viable powersets, all the rules make far less sense (and in many cases, there is no sense whatsoever), and most of all, there are far less people PvP'ing than before. By a HUGE margin. Big enough to completely kill ALL PvP on ALL servers except Freedom.
So they spent like half a year of programming work.....to lose money, and gain nothing. Getting paid to fail must be nice.
Editing cuz I forgot to mention the main part. This whole conversation is pointless, because they won't get offended from what we say anyway. To get offended, you must actually read what's being said on the PvP forums. -
Quote:A store owner would be pretty idiotic to completely ignore his shoppers' requests. Of course he can decide what he wants to sell, but if every 2nd shopper tells him he should sell so and so and not sell so and so, it would be a good idea to listen. Without the shoppers, the store wouldn't exist.Just because you shop at a store doesn't mean you can tell them what to sell. If you don't like what's on the shelf....don't shop there.
The above poster is right. If this game's PvP community wasn't so small, the CoH devs would not have a job right now, and it's doubtful they would ever find one in the gaming industry again. That's how badly they failed. Thankfully for them, their decisions lost only a small percentage of the total profit.
But in the end, you know what would fix everything? Honesty. Having them say a single honest thing, instead of the generic PR crap, would be nice. Admitting that I13 was an utter failure would be nice. Saying "yes, you told us this would happen, but we were stupid and didn't listen" would be nice. An apology would be nice. We know it's a fact that I13 failed. They know it's a fact. Yet they continue to lie, saying it's a success....just not "perfect".
Well, they get what they deserve. -
Wow eps....that sucks. Have fun man, it was good knowing you. Maybe you'll be back one day.
-
Quote:Are you new? Because you sound like it.You treat them like crap, and then wonder why they don't pay attention when you have a complaint?
Players don't just start talking bad about their developers for no reason. Please learn the history of what happened to PvP in this game since it was introduced. Then we can talk again. -

If you're used to psy/em, you'll be pretty disappointed with everything else. Thanks to I13.
