  1. FWIW, I have a few mothballed 40+ characters and some newer 35+ ones who I'll be trying to get to 50 during DXP weekend. A couple might even be vaguely useful for raids (like my Ill/Emp).

I'll certainly be interested in pre-50 content, especially TFs, on Friday. Free time on Saturday and Sunday are less certain, sadly.

I wish my 5 year old would learn to play herself.. she just forces me to make tons of bizarre lookin characters with embarrassing names (skywalkr? puuke? meowgirl?) and then I have to run around and actually play them for her. *shiver*

That's my (almost) 5yr old son, in a nutshell. He's getting better about costumes, but he still likes making Huge body characters and cranking the body sliders all the way up. :/ Better than just hitting Random, I suppose.

Still, he's getting to the point where he can come up with names that don't look like someone just slammed their head on the keyboard. When he started making his own characters, I'd get messages from my global friends asking if Id' been hacked by a gold farmer.

So, if you see "Zoo Man Joe 100" or something like that running around, jumping to the zone ceiling with his GvE Pack, its probably my son.

(Dang. Now this really makes me want a 2nd decent computer so I can re-activate my 2nd account and duo...)

I blame Virtue's amazing lagginess for the team's blaster (me) running into that mass of Vahz before the tank.

    PW's war journal

Haha. You know PW, most scrappers lock onto a single target and run it to the ground or die trying, not the entire room.

What was the quote (from oh so long ago)? Something like, "Just a minute, I found a few more Rikti over here." A few in that particular mission being about twenty.
  5. Very jazzed about this. Rikti are one of my favorite villain groups in the game. RCS has need a facelift for a long, long time.

Though, I think the most exciting thing is the hero/villain co-op options! I've wanted this ever since the first co-op misisons in Pocket D. Thank you!

Now we just need a Co-Op/FFA PvP Zone with capture the flag and king of the hill mini-games! (hint, hint)

    Vengeance

    QR

Would it be possible to flag Vengeance as Interruptable (meaning it can't be set on auto) and set the Interrupt time to zero? That wouldn't solve the issue of a well coordinated team double (or more) stacking it in PvP, but it might be worth looking at.

All this is going to do is keep prices artificially low. You won't be able to sell anything for anywhere near what it's worth (which, contrary to popular opinion, can be objectively estimated in this game).

    [/ QUOTE ]
Let's see if I've got this right.
'Hello Wentworths, I'd like you to sell this Zonkium Widget for me. Please get a million inf for it if you can.'
'Righto madam, I'll just pop it on the shelves.'
    (later...)
'Hello Wentworths, do you have any Zonkium Widgets?'
    'Yes sir, we do.'
'I'd like to buy one, for not more than 500,000 Inf.'
(Wentworths employee goes and checks. Lots of people have brought Zonkium Widgets in, and most of them had an asking price of around 400,000 Inf, but here's one whose seller is clearly desparate, and he only wants 100,000 Inf.)
'Here you go sir, that'll be 500,000 Inf.'
(Wentworths takes the Zonkium Widget that's priced at 100,000 and sells it to the client for 500,000. The client goes away happy. Several other people come in and offer a similar price. It soon becomes apparent that 500,000 or less is about what you can expect to pay for a Zonkium Widget. Meanwhile, my Zonkium Widget gathers dust on the shelves.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    In a nutshell, yes.

If you have an item that just isn't moving, you can go and see what it has been selling for, then re-list the item. If you feel the market value is too low, then you don't have to keep it listed.

You could unlist the item and hold onto it, gambling that the market value will go up again. Maybe there was an unusual number of Zonkium Widgets in the market that week (supply>demand)? Maybe someone decided to list a bunch of them individually instead of as a stack?

Or you could try to find a direct buyer that doesn't want to deal with the middleman.
  10. I am in awe.
And I'm archiving these. Just in case.
  11. I think we're just going to have to disagree on this one EG.

If the market is informed (which they should be if they're looking to drop cash on something), then buyers will get exactly what they want, for what they think its worth, as soon as its available.

Honestly, I suspect most of the people that will be using this system lack SGs or decent Coalitions to trade with.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Take out the transfer thing. Let's instead make this something that's being sold to be sold. Why does the person who's willing to pay 5 million have to pay 5 million? Why can't they get the benefit of the bargain?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because, you are determining what price you want to pay for something.

If somone really wants to buy a Positron's Rusty Lugnut so they can make an IO from the Cool Like Positron set, they need to determine what they think a good price for it is. If that player decides that 100,000 INF is a fair price, then that's his budget. He can try to find a better price if he wants or he can just lay down his 100,000 on the the first one he finds in the inventory. If the seller happens to have 20 Positron's Rusty Lugnuts, takes the time to list each individually, and values them at about 1,000 each, then score for him.

Like actual auctions (real world and online), you need to invest time in it to get the best deals. At least with this system, you are promised to get a certain quality item; there are no manufacturing defects in Paragon City - every Positron's Rusty Lugnut is as good as the next.

Incidentally, this is similar to the original business model used by priceline.com. Their notion was you name the price and you get what you paid for (within certain parameters). You didn't get to pick certain things about your flight (no specific carriers, for instance), but you could chose where you flew out of and into, how many stops you'd be willing to make, etc. Its a good business model as long as the buyer isn't ignorantly throwing down more money than they really wanted to.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
Player A1 puts up a Level 12 TO for 5,000,000 inf.
Player B1 puts up the same Level 12 TO for 1,000 inf.
Player A2 (trying to transfer funds) offers to buy that level 12 TO for 5,000,000 inf.
Since player B1 wants less, and is obviously trying to move his items faster, his "for sale" is processed first, so he ends up with 5,000,000 inf (minus fees).

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That, sir, is awesome.

Set Bonuses are always active. The special powers from IO Enhancements which grant them are not.

    [/ QUOTE ]

What about in passive powers? If I slot +20% regeneration in Fast Healing do I get that bonus all the time?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Passive powers are always on, therefore any enhancements of this type would always give their bonus.

    [ QUOTE ]
If I slot +20% regeneration in Dull Pain do I get that bonus only when I click Dull Pain?

    [/ QUOTE ]
Right. A Set Bonus which gave +Regeneration would *always* be active in Dull Pain, while an Enhancement which grants +Regeneration would only work for a set period of time after Dull Pain was activated.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Along this line... What can you tell us about the various +Stealth IOs from the Travel Sets?

Specifically, can they be slotted in passive powers? If so, how is this going to interact with NPC hostages and such that won't interact with a stealthed character? I haven't seen where this has been specifically addressed. If I missed it, sorry.

Imagine the coolness of a Transformers MMO: Customizable body styles, colors, graphics, weapons.

I have this memory of the little "data cards" off of the 80's transformers boxes; they rated each transformer in terms of durability, fuel efficiency, firepower, etc. Hmm... You could do something like that during character creation. Each could be its own stat. As you gained experience, you could get improvements for the different stats, special weapons, and so on.

Man _Castle_, when's this thing coming out anyway?

  22. I found another nice font for this: Californian FB Bold

The I/L difference is noticable, though maybe not as pronounced as in some other suggestions. Still, if you're looking for a very crisp, legible font, this is a good one.

Thanks for putting this together Kari. Its definately getting bookmarked.

EDIT: Oops, forgot to mention. you might need to tinker with the font size in your options. I turned mine up to 14 point.
  23. Nice work.

If this analysis is correct (and I have no reason to suspect otherwise at this point), then getting a tiny amount of healing or popping a respite isn't as detrimental at the Defiance bar suggests.

I've been soloing my Fire/Electric Blaster and trying to milk the Defiance bar as long as possible to buff up my damage output. Not surprisingly, I die more often than I'd like to if my Lucks and Sturdies expire. Being able to pop a green without fear of killing my buff is fantastic news.

It does bring up a questions though: How does a fluxuating defiance value affect the streak breaker?

In short, they're painful to look at. Keep the fat pigtails in if you must, but fix the other hairstyles.

Also, has something been done to the geometry of female faces? I was tinkering around with hairstyles and all the short haircuts made my character look like a drag queen. She used to have a soft, round face. Now, no matter what I do, her face looks incredibly broad/square. Even the Thin scaling looks masculine!
