    Dark/Pain?

Well, if you readily believe that you'll use only 2 ST, 2 Cones and the snipe, better playing with some other pick.

Dark Pit slotted with Stupefy provides excellent bonuses (excepting maybe the Knockback. If you want the 3.13 Ranged Defense, you'll have to get it.) and makes it a very worthy pick. Your safety level will increase a lot against some of the annoying Minions out there.

The Nuke is always debatable. I like them, to blow myself up once in a while, for fun (or trying a lucky Scourge with a boss at 40% Life. Russian Roulette, anyone?), but it's certainly not a core power like Night Fall.

About the ToHit Debuff, I think there are more interesting options for your slots. Simply stack them with different powers and you should be ok.

    Dark/Pain?

Dark is definitely not crappy nor lame.

Between Tenebrous, Pit and Night Fall, you have lots of AoE potential, while Immobilizing, Disorienting and stacking -Acc. Not too shabby.

Life Drain deals good Damage, if slotted for this purpose, and is a good addition to your Healing potential. And, of course, Dark Blast and Gloom, the good ole trusty ones.

Give it a spin, at least until you have your main attacks decently slotted and you'll have a good idea if the combo is for you or not. After all, shooting inky black darkstuff at people is never a bad thing.
  3. Meh. I understand that people were spoiled by the old animation, but stating that the set is "unplayable" is quite the exaggeration.

Comparing ET with Seismic is also kinda preposterous, due to the costs involved. A SM can't get too liberal with Seismic under normal conditions, because it chews Endurance like few other things.

Different sets = good thing. The whole idea of different powers is... them being different. EM is still alive. However, we need to adapt.

    Assault Rifle

I'm playing, finally, the AR/Traps that I was planning for so long, and it's very entertaining. The gadgety theme really works for me, the damage is good (though not great) and you have something to help in most occasions.

Of course, for highly-resistant enemies (Lethal) it can be tough, at least before you grab a nice BBQ trap for your Fire damage, but it performs decently. Stick with it till the mid 20s/early 30s, then you'll know if it's for you.

I think AR won't work so well with /Storm (specially with higher-level powers), /Sonic (not much synergy, there), /Kinetics (redraw madness and lack of survivability/mitigation). /Dark goes well with pretty much anything, as does /Rad.

Enjoy your safety hats you paranoid people. I honestly feel sorry for you at this point because nothing any of you post makes any sense. Half of you couldn't even keep up with the evolution of the proposal so you invented things that were no longer being said or never were said to begin with. So pathetic.

It's a game, not government information.

Classic example of deadlocked argument and one of the parts taking things personally.

You might not like the arguments proposed here, but they do make perfect sense (at least, most of them). Fact is: what you want is not presently possible, so, on a business level, there is a good justification for that. The accountability of the company is a perfectly valid example.

Information is important, whether it's governmental or private or just the color of the underwear of your character. You don't mind this admittedly small security breach. I do. So, who's right and who's wrong?

Please, don't kill any waiter that brings you mustard instead of ketchup. And don't feel sorry for me, I'm doing just fine
  6. I really like Malta, CoT, Tsoo and Carnies. Why? Because of just that: they are more resourceful enemies that require some thinking to tackle, instead of the "kick on the door" approach.

Call me masochistic, but when in the correct level range, I actively look for those enemies, to a fault. It's worth to mention I play Villains almost exclusively.

What I really hate are Flashbang Grenades =P
  7. I want Dual Demons and Pistol Summoning.

    Oh, wait...
  8. Any High-Damage/Debuff-centric combo would do you good.

The classic Fire/Dark has it all, so it's a good entry to Corruptors. Damage, good control, good debuffing and healing, all available early on.

As another poster said, /Radiation is a very solid choice, too. It provides excellent survivability and tools to deal with pretty much any enemy.

I'd just avoid /Sonic, /Fire and /Ice, since they are more group-based (they bestow armor to group-mates, but not to yourself) and require slightly more understanding to be effective. They'd be great for your second Corruptor on.

    Good luck
  9. Whoa.

I've rarely seen bigger displays of arrogance and word-juggling anywhere around the Internet, and I know that's a bold statement. Let's just hope the mods close this battle of egos sooner than later.

OP: Ideally, no. But, to each his own. If you PL, at least have the decency of doing it with friends, and not paying slavedrivers do do it.
  10. Is it really so outrageous having to wait 30 seconds then retyping your password?

My tip: have a nice poetry book by the side of your computer. Log and flip to a random page, and read a poem. You might be surprised that some of them take more than 30 seconds to read.

I'd recommend Shelley, Blake or Shakespeare's Sonnets. Some Cioran aforisms if you play Villains, maybe.
  11. We cannot ignore the wanton joy of the bad group!

Of course, most of the time we want tight gaming experiences, ATs that interact and synergize, etc... But sometimes it is great fun to join extremely incompetent groups. While my best CoX experiences have been on solid groups, with mature players who value a little strategy and positioning, I laughed my hardest in PuGs with kids and/or clueless people.

Of cooooourse, some of these groups will be just a pain, specially with some powersets (anchor-based ones come to mind). But if you can take a beating, can make a quick getaway, or simply don't mind the occasional debt (I know I don't), then.... these groups that should not be have potential to drop you from your chair, if you just let the otherworldliness of the experience flow in your mind.

And, regarding the /tell policy, I go with the flow too: If you ignore my preference of groups, I will ignore your preference of recruiting.
