When I double click on the City of Villains icon the patcher comes up, checks my files, and I click next to start the game. The loading bar comes up for a couple seconds, then the screen goes black for a couple seconds like the program is starting, then the desktop and loading bar appear again only much bigger. A error message then pops up saying something along the lines of "The program tried to use memory: 1103434 the memory could not be "written" the program needs to close". I'm not sure of the exact number, I can't select it to copy and paste.
The program has always done the thing where the loading bar disappears, the screen turns back, and the bar appears again only bigger. I last played the game about a week to a week and a half ago. I can start the program no problem if I check the Safe Mode box.
I have tried Verifying all Files, deleting the checksum and letting it perform the checksum, starting in safemode saving the settings and restarting, and uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
My computer is a Inspiron E1705 laptop running windows XP.
I have 2 Gig of ram and a 1.83 GHz processor. Err, I'm not quite sure how to get any of the other system information.
Is there anything I might try to fix this? Alternately, is there some place I should be submitting a bug report or contacting support?
Thanks for any help.

It's also worth pointing out that people like the option of change even if they never use it. Players are more likely to be confident and make the choices they really want when they know that they can change their minds if they have to. This results in them being happyer with their choices even if they never actually use the respec.

Oh yes EvilGeko, because your opinion is so not valid. We're always right.
Jeez, all we are saying is to get a better opinion is to wait until it is on Test because we dont know full details. Is that an evil thing to say?
[/ QUOTE ]
But whatever goes on test is IRRELEVANT. We know your choice of patron is permanent. So discussing that cannot be premature.
[/ QUOTE ]
But what if there's enough powers in each set so that almost anything is possible? The set is permanent, but what if there's enough powers in the set that are respeccable?
[/ QUOTE ]
But how many powers would that be? Atleast 20? What are the chances that this happens? Also, even if the powers weren't a problem what if the related story was? For example what if certain missions required your character to side with factions that they would normaly refuse?
Edit: Correcting number. -

Really nice info and background story, but I'm confused: The article states that his base of operations is in Steel Canyon, but everyone knows he hides out in the Hollows. Am I missing something?
[/ QUOTE ]
Their main base *is* in Steel Canyon, but as the article explains, a splinter group of the Outcasts has moved into the Hollows. I think it can be safe to say Frostfire is hanging out with them to make sure this chapter can hold its own ... and he would have gotten away with it if it weren't for you meddling capes!
As to the timeline:
Hollowing - Late 2000
Rikti War - 2002

Hmm, now I had thought that when they content patched the hollows in the hollowing had just happened. Guess I was mistaken, explains how the place got so full of villains. Amazeing that people still live their though. -
Could we get the first fire aura (forget it's name, the one that's a toggle point blank aoe) sound to fade, while it's not a constant drone or anything the explotion sound every time it deals dammage get really distracting after a while.
-
Would be great if we could get some of the villan constume pieces. Remember not every hero is a boyscout who dresses in tights.

I don't see the newspaper working quite so well for us...
'I see in the paper that the bank was robbed yesterday. If only I'd been there in time to do something about it.'
Nah, a police radio or something of that ilk is a much better idea.
[/ QUOTE ]
HAHAHAHA!
Good call on the police radio. Or maybe some kind of Freedom Phalanx emergency channel. It'd work like the newspaper in CoV, but you could have the hero pull out a field-radio (similar to the one Merc Masterminds use to summon their minions).

If it simply gives you xp it is just another form of the "grind" and wont add anything of worth to the game. If it is seprate from xp leveling the way skills and equipment are in other games then it will add to the game. Why would you want to work on skills if it doesn't add anything to your character?
Sincerely,
Fireshade -

[ QUOTE ]
From reading the article it sounds like this is just going to be a stupid way to get some extra xp if you have the right skills. My understanding was that this was supposed to add another aspect to the game the way crafting and collecting equipment are in other games. If this is its purpose then it will be a complete falure if it's just a way to get experience.
Sincerely,
Fireshade
[/ QUOTE ]
Just like defeating villains is just a way to get experience?
We all know what a terrible idea that was.
[/ QUOTE ]
All I said was that it wouldn't acomplish anything if the goal was to add another aspect to the game the way equipment does other games. I didn't say that there was anything wrong with geting xp. What im saying is that all this would accomplish is add a different way to go about geting your levels. It doesn't actually give you any new abilities or new things you can do in combat or whatever.
Sincerely,
Fireshade -

Is this just going to be another way to get experience? Or is it actually going to be something new?

But he still didn't answer the main question: If this is added will you be able to change into that body type?
Sincerely,
