Quote:No, no, of course not. And yes, of course you are participating.Do we need to R.S.V.P.?
I am planning on participating.
Oh and one more thing...
Please tell me that this is going to be a black tie affair.
You may wear your tie in the screenshot, but make sure you wear something practical for beating Marauders face in. -
You may or may not be aware that Protector hosts a superteam called Kheldian Fridays, which forms up every week to tackle TF's and such. You may or may not be aware of an upcoming Protector event that takes place from December 2nd-4th, where we have lots of TF's, costume contests, and whatnot happening. (Links to both of these are in my sig.)
What you probably *don't* know is that we are having some very famous kheldians drop by our server for the all kheldian Lambda. So, if any of you that normally frequent this forum have a free transfer and want to make this the most awesome lambda (maybe BAF afterwards, too?) ever, consider dropping by Protector. -
Added a new event to Saturday at 1pm--MissKyo will be hosting a hami raid!

Forming in Pocket D is a very good idea, I like it. Also, to anyone who joined us last time, be aware that we will be trying again during Naughty or Nice, on December 3rd. See the link in my sig if you haven't already read up on the event.

Thanks to some awesome contributions from @Black Leather Angel and @Stargeek, I've been able to raise the rewards for the Scavenger hunt. Also, the winning team on the GvE Lady Grey TF will be going home with some nice stuff
There will also probably be random cash drops during both Iron Tailor events, so be sure to slot your [Lucky: Chance for +Inf] enhancement. -

Added a new event to Saturday, at 2pm--A MoKeyes run. If anyone is interested, please let me know, as it will be a SIGN UP ONLY event.

Well darn, it looks like my Crab is going to come back to Protector now. Sounds like this is redside only, though? No luck for my goody two shoes widow

Another fun week! This week was Moonfire, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one who died on the tf. I made up for it by doing so several times.
Next Friday lands us on the day after Thanksgiving. I don't know how many people will be up for running something that day, but I will be on to attempt something. Until next time! -
Quote:It's understandable from a role players perspective, I suppose. I don't role play, but I can certainly understand a choice made for concept even though it gimps the build a bit.I think that's a silly restriction to make. If you're going to be a purist about your Peacebringer, be a rational one. I don't see the difference between dropping a kinetic combat set you'll never use in boxing and dropping a kinetic combat set you'll never use in Dwarf Strike.
That said, I'm unsure if that is the reason the OP decided to make that statement, considering the argumentative stance he took on this thread, and the thread that lead to the creation of this one. -
I've added rewards tables to some of the events that were lacking them. We're looking at roughly 2 billion in pure influence from just mine and Layla's events, not counting Septipheran's, AIB's, and Stalemate's privately hosted events. We are also planning on giving away many purples and rare IOs (note: by rare IO's, I mean stuff like Numina uniques and LotG: +Recharge). We would appreciate any donations, if you have some spare influence, to beef up some of the rewards even more.
Two weeks until the event! I hope to see many people attend! -
I will update the prizes as I get a chance to, but I think people will be happy to see that the rewards on the bigger events were raised considerably. However, there are also certain prizes that are entirely dependent on participation and turnout. Specifically, the scavenger hunt. If all goes as planned, people who take part in it will be rewarded well. If we only get a couple people who half-*** it, well, the prizes won't be as awesome. I know that there is one person* out there already collecting items on the list, though, so I have hope.
I should probably take this moment to go more in depth into the scavenger hunt. Basically, the more items on the list you collect, the better your score will be. Each picture you obtain will be graded a number of points (1-5) for how well it was done, with 1 being the equivalent of writing your name on a blank test sheet, and 5 being "Wow, that is impressive." We add up all the points from everything you manage to get, and the winners have the highest number of points. There will also perhaps be a couple honorary winners, who perhaps didn't take a 1st-3rd place, but managed to get a single picture that we really enjoyed. Those winners will get a rare IO, such as a LotG: +recharge or the like. Also, if you plan on going for the #10's on the list, know this: If we know you're doing whatever you're doing just to make the list requirement, you will probably get a 1 or 2. If you manage to sneak it by us, you get a much higher score.
Also, in regards to our Medic! event...it has been decided that any surviving pairs will split the losers rewards. So, for example, say 2 pairs of people survive out of the whole team. Those pairs will get the money that the other teams failed to win. Note that purposely hanging back for the rest of the team to fight so that you don't die will get you disqualified after one warning. I know most people wouldn't do this, but I figure I might as well say it now. When we begin forming for this event, it would behoove anyone looking to join to bring their own partner. Layla will obviously be mine, but if you come alone, you risk the consequences of having to take whoever shows up.
*You know who you are. -
Just an FYI to anyone who hasn't joined the channel yet--we are running the Moonfire this Friday. Lowbie Kheldians, rejoice!

*Waits for OP to complain that these builds proving that it can be done aren't good enough*

Quote:Haha, cool story bro.I have a human-form PB build; boosting Defense is a fool's game on an AT where your defenses are primarily Resist-based.
Simply, if you're building for Defense, that's ALL you're building for. You can't build for Recharge or much else, because of the way the Defense bonuses are paired in IO sets.
Having some defense is good, but it's not nearly so easy to build for Defense as you might think. -
You might want to take another look at what I said, since I was replying to someone regarding farming. Please don't put words in my mouth and quote me out of context.

Here we are: long recharge buffs disappear.
-
In the name of science, I have gone and tested. My very first test produced results. Rage, Hasten, and the Barrier buff were all wiped from my character after I zoned out of an AE map, shortly after activating the powers. Perhaps I'm just unlucky like that.
Unfortunately, xfire is having some sort of errors in uploading to it's website right now, so I will have to wait until I can post a video as evidence. -
I haven't heard anything from most of our regulars, and AIB can't make it this week, so I'm thinking something with a low minimum team size, just in case.

Quote:Yeah, and since the game supposedly wasn't made any harder to account for IOs, you can't really base any changes off of the wimpyness of the forms compared to a tricked out humanform build.Even with toggle suppression, Peacebringer forms would still be worthless on end game builds. Human form does more AoE damage than Nova and is more survivable than Dwarf when built well. The forms still have a purpose for leveling up and for those who choose not to use IO's though, and I think that's perfectly fine. There's really no conceivable way to make forms worth taking on a fleshed out end game build for PB's, but that doesn't mean they're worthless throughout the rest of the game, which is really the majority of it.
