Just happened to me today. First time I've played since the game became "City of Heroes Freedom."
Trying to level up powers at the time. Shortly before the crash, I had begun to notice the UI randomly flickering off and on rapidly. Not consistently, but usually around the time I had used several powers, just like the UI was being turned off and back on again really quick one time. Then it was normal for a few more power uses, then flickered again.
Now, right after "Going Rogue" came out, the UI flicker started happening and apparently has continued ever since. The only difference is that in the times I had played before the release of Freedom, the flickering would signify that the game was about to start slowing down to a slide show. After Freedom, it apparently means I'm about to crash.
This only started after the Ultra graphics update. With Going Rogue, I could just turn off pretty much all the Ultra enhancements and run normally for a while longer before the slowdown, so I'm guessing I could do the same now with it crashing. That does kind of defeat the purpose of having the Ultra mode options in the game though.
As a side note, the slow down was the reason I quit playing for several months, got tired of it and the fact it was never fixed. -
Second reply from help desk, issue still exists.
I think it would be resolved by getting a free tailor session to let me switch the pants back, but I'm still a bit afraid they would switch again.
If I can find a tailor in Praetoria I'm probably just going to just burn a Veteran costume redo token I think and fix it myself, hoping it stays fixed afterward. -
Were they still warrior pants?
Just curious.
Got a response to my support ticket: I was told to exit super group mode.
Not in a super group on this character.
Updated ticket, trying again. -
I created a character with Warrior pants, through the Tucked In pants option.
I saved the character.
I created a character and loaded the saved costume.
The saved costume pants were not Warrior, they were Cargo.
I changed the pants back to Warrior, created the character, and leveled a bit, logged out for the day.
The next day (today) I log in, level a bit more, then log out. When I logged back in I found that my pants on my existing character are now Cargo pants instead of Warrior pants.
I submitted an in game bug ticket.
There seems to be an issue, at least for me, where Warrior pants keep getting switched for basic Cargo pants. -
Quote:I'm not sure how it worked for anyone else, but as far as I can tell I've never been invited to any closed betas, and I've been playing CoH off and on since CoH final beta, minus one month when I closed my subscription. I have a tendency to keep emails too, and I've searched my email box and found either all or most of the emails I have regarding CoH, all the way back to March 2005 (some older are possibly archived from a previous windows install). None were regarding beta invites. The way I got into the CoV beta? Fileplanet. I might have gotten in after that by preordering CoV, but I can't quite remember at the moment. To me that first tier seems like what they did for the CoV beta, where people were getting invited to the closed beta in waves that seemed largely dependant on how long they'd had their accounts open (I think I got in on the first or second one of those things). That was the closed beta that immediately followed the whole 'friends and family' beta.
I would imagine that the subscription length folks will be in much earlier than the second wave before open beta myself. -
Is it my imagination, or is the Psi cop wearing a trench coat? And when can I have one?

From what a guildie tells me, if you SO 3 slot hurdle and superjump you're moving at the same speed as someone using superspeed. From my experience with each being single slotted, I can believe them.
Also, for fly, if I remember right it did use to stack with Swift. I remember taking Swift on a scrapper who had fly, and suddenly seeming to fly faster than someone who had only Fly by itself. Same seemed to be true, once again if I remember right, with Superspeed+Swift+Sprint stacking.
Final comment, a prediction, what will probably come from the discussion with Geko is this: Instead of fixing fly, they'll nerf hurdle and swift so that they do not stack with superspeed and superjump/combat jump. -

Issue #3
Why do masterminds in COV get their pets early in the game like around lvl 6 and in COH they have to wait until level 28 or later to get theirs?
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh, there are masterminds in CoH?
All joking aside, being a mastermind is about controling pets. THAT is why they get them early.
My guess is you're comparing a mastermind to a controller, who's primary power is about controling the enemy, not about controlling a pet. (Although controling the enemy is debateable by some, with controller changes recently) -
CuppaJo on Burn
I don't think fear was changed on Burn, per se, but the AI response to burn was. Instead of going feared in the Burn, once set afire, the run outside of the patch and will not run back into the patch, or something like that.
Although, I find it funny that I've played a fire controller and fire blaster, both of whom can set enemies on fire, and they don't seen to run around and stop attacking while they burn. Or at least they didn't last time I checked, which I'll admit has been a while. -
Just curious, but when is Statesman going to answer the Ask Statesman questions that were posed?
Or were they answered, and I missed them? -
Yep, problem since beta. CoH beta that is, as was stated.
If the enemy has decided to move before you hit it, it goes hyper.
If, however, you hit it before it decides to move, it stumbles about. -
Glad yall got to try it, because I didn't. Tried the event after I got home from work. Spent about 2+ hours just trying to get out of Breakout and get to the trainer and leveled up. Kept getting stuck in the mission entrance (and I can only hope retail isn't this bad about crashing on mission entry), and when FINALLY I got out of breakout (cryptic should really include a skip option for that area, considering that the pvp was taking place) I couldn't train up because Ghostwidow was constantly surrounded by a bunch of jerks who also kept spamming their powers and killing frame rates. And finally, finally when I do talk to her and then to the trainer (should have had more than one person for each at the entrance to the zone) I once again have to go through the pain of trying to get through the crowd of power spammers to get to the enhancement seller. About that time, an admin comes on and says 'thanks, we're done' and the server goes down.

If you don't like Exemplaring, it's not required, so you don't have to do it.
IMHO, I think the real complaint for many, whether or not they admit it, is that they're not able to take their character back to a lower level with their current level powerset fully intact and farm lower level, lower risk mobs for full XP to level themselves from.
I mean, if you had a choice of going against level 40 mobs, or level 10 mobs, with your full powerset fully enhanced getting full XP, what would you choose?
