  1. put me down in case there's room

    Operative Webster lvl 50 crab

    @Steeple
  2. I will be there with Divine Scourge, my lvl 50 fire/kin, but as always can change to another AT if needed.

    @Steeple
  3. I will be there with something. Most likely will be my not-quite-50 grav/rad controller Jonathan Nighthunter.

    If he's 50, I'll bring whatever mood strikes or what is needed for balance.

    @Steeple
  4. For Eden, Steeple lvl 50 Inv/SS tank & for Kahn, Divine Scourge lvl 50 fire/kin.

    I know we aren't giving the advice the OP is asking for, but I can't imagine my crab without them. My crab 'blastermind', though neither Blaster nor Mastermind, has no melee attacks. The focus is the pets (6 all total with PP pet) and AOE damage. I have 2 single target range attacks and no melee. With various IO sets, Recharge IO's and Hasten, my Spiderlings are perma, with the PP pet about 15 seconds behind them. The Reinforcements are about 30 seconds behind PP pet.

    Once you figure your toggles into what your pets can do, you have a small army that not many foes can take for very long. Also, take into consideration that there are 6 extra targets for enemies to pound on, making it less likely you'll bite the dust before Serum is recharged.

    If I may ask, is there a particular reason you don't want the pets or just playing style?
  6. Divine Scourge lvl 50 fire/kin

    Operative Webster lvl 50 crab/bane dual build

    @Steeple
  7. Will be there with Operative Webster lvl 50 bane/crab dual build SoA.

    As always, can switch toons for balancing purposes.

    @Steeple
  8. I can't speak for others, but the character I have the most fun playing is my Arachnos Soldier. Specifically, he is a dual build. His Bane build is geared toward stealth of course, and being an AV killer. His second build is a Crab "blastermind" as I like to call it, the focus being AoE attacks and having all 6 available pets soaking damage for me, 2 of the pets being nearly perma.

    It's all run and gun and there isn't much I have to slow down for.
  9. Assuming the hangover isn't too overwhelming, I'll be there with Divine Scourge lvl 50 fire/kin.

    @Steeple
  10. I'll be there with Operative Webster, dual build lvl 50 Crab/Bane.

    As always, I can bring whatever AT is needed to balance teams.

    @Steeple
  11. I will default to bringing Divine Scourge, lvl 50 fire/kin, but can bring any AT you need for this.

    @Steeple
  12. This is awesome! Talk about going above and beyond expectations. This is a QoL addition that has me chomping at the bit for I16 all the more.

    Let's see...

    pretty colors, new animations on some powers, teaming with any level range easily, and hero/villain team up from early levels via RWZ.

    Thank you Devs. You guys just rock!
  13. Count me in. @Steeple

    Operative Webster - lvl 50 Bane/Crab dual build
  14. Meh....it will take some getting used to.

    Sounds like you should get something to 50 and try a Kheldian or Soldier of Arachnos, those are the closest things to 'hybrid' ATs in the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I made an Arachnos soldier with one build being a Crab, the other being a Bane. I can switch builds to suit my mood and break the monotony with some variety. Also, they have many tools available and you can choose a smattering of defense, offense, and pets as you desire. Melee or range? Why not have both

    I love my Crab/Bane.

    The downside, of course, is you need to get a villain to 50 first.
  16. How is this suggestion supposed to make the game better?

    Oh yeah. It doesn't.

    /unsigned and 2 BIG thumbs down.
  17. Thank you once again for the Sat Mat, DB. Fun as always.

    I think Bat'zul will be walking funny for a few days after that butt kicking we gave him.
  18. I'm in for both...

    @Steeple

    I will likely bring Operative Webster level 50 dual build Crab/Bane VEAT

    I may bring a different toon depending on which AT's are needed and if any of my villains are of the proper xp levels (I'm at work at the moment).

    I always thought that having a commercial during an episode of Heroes would have been perfect. Of course, they can't do that now since Heroes sucks anymore.

    Missing that kind of opportunity during the first season....

    cest la vie

    server doesn't matter. i just checked for reassurance.

    Checked it when I got home. I stand corrected.
  21. Yeah, reading comprehension failure on my part.

    In essence, the original question has no answer because the question is irrelevant and moot.

    Unfortunately, the thread will now become a point-and-laugh at Steeple session because he pulled a noob move.....which I totally deserve

    Steeple is so n00b __fill in the blank___.

    Let's have some fun with it, I'll start the ball rolling....

    Steeple is so n00b, this thread doesn't warrant any further response

    Hey, if I can't make fun of myself when I do it, I can't make fun of you fools when you do it, muhuhahahaaaa.

    I've always seen PlayNC time cards at their standard price (in Best Buy, GameStop/EB Games, Circuit City, and Fry's Electronics). The issue here is that he found Game Cards, not Time Cards.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Fleeting Whisper nailed it.

    This is exactly the case. I found the time cards for $14.99 on the Best Buy website, but they were removed in the stores. The stores had the game cards and the $20 price is the price listed on the card itself (imprinted in plastic in the upper corner), so Best Buy is charging the correct price.

    As for why the time cards aren't on their shelves, someone in their management may have been as confused as I am and think they are the same thing. Also could be that with the other methods of payment, they just didn't sell.

    At any rate, thanks guys for helping clear this up.

    *feels like a dolt for failing at his original searching*

    Edited for clarification

    Man does my search fu suck.

    Thanks for the info.
  24. Question first: Why are City of Heroes game time cards $20?

    Disclaimer: I swear by everything holy (and unholy) that I searched hard looking for a previous post and wiki info looking for this first.

    Story: I try to get on CoH last night after work, just like I do every evening, only to find out the auto-renew subscription didn't 'take' because funds are low in the bank account. I then remember that I have some Best Buy gift cards and that I can get the PlayNC time cards for 15 dollars apiece.

    Thinking my problems are solved, I call the 3 closest stores and ask if they have them in stock. The ones who answered (2 out of 3) indicated that they were in the system, but couldn't be found on the shelves. I risk it and go to the most reliable store and check it out for myself.

    Lo and behold, I get there and there is no slot for the PlayNC card, despite it being on their website. Instead, they now have a City of Heroes card that is $20, not $14.99.

    The happy ending is I said, "[censored] that" and bought the Architect box for $19.99, which came with the free month and I now have the Magic super booster as well. Same money, more goodies. I suspect it has to do with the switch to Paragon Studios, but the price hike is annoying.

    So, does anyone know why these time cards went up in price?
