Couldn't you joining the team help make it a bit more balanced, AT wise?
Depending on what you join with of course.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Sorry Kat, maybe my joke didn't come through in the translation to the vBulletin forums. (Yes, it's another joke).
Maybe it has something to do with the fugly smilies we have and them looking so blurry.
Anyway, yes, it was supposed to be a humorous post, but it apparently wasn't as humorous in print as it was in my head.
Ah well. Can't win 'em all.
Or sometimes any.
EDIT: I was seeing that Killer was offering to bring either a Stalker or MM, and MissInformed was bring a Dom (that isn't on DB's list) and just thinking if you brought the opposite of what Killer brought or a Brute, it would balance the AT's somewhat. So the joke did have some basis in reality at least.

Eh, probably me.

How did this go? Wish I could have been there.
We wiped once, but after clearing the ambushes on the return, things went quite smooth. To be honest, this is the second time I've been on a 5th run that had to clear the ambushes, and it almost seems easier to do it that way. That, or a team wipe is breaking what is supposed to be non-stop ambushes. I'm not sure. It's possible we left some breathing in other areas of the map, but after clearing to the machine room and facing Reischman a second time, there was never another ambush. <shrug> There was also an old ambush spawn on the other side of the room that never moved after we started attacking Reischman again.
Now for an aside...
The Matinée never expects or requires a balanced team for anything. When there are enough people for multiple teams or when there are people willing to switch characters, balance is easier to attain. I don't feel it is required for a vast majority of the TFs/SFs in the game. Unbalanced teams can take longer, lead to more frustration, and, at worst, end in failing to complete. This is a rare thing however, and so far for me, has only occurred outside the Matinée (from what I can remember). I prefer people play what they want and have fun, rather than feel obligated to make sure the team is balanced... provided of course they are open to failing to complete as a final result.
The Matinée typically gets a good mix of ATs for whatever is scheduled. There were VEAT heavy teams when they were first introduced, and they handled everything they tackled. I expect there will be certain mixes occurring when Going Rogue arrives, and even powerset proliferation can lead to teams having lots of popular sets that are new to some ATs. I try to keep the Matinée as informal and open as possible for a variety of reasons, so I hope no one ever feels pressured into selecting certain characters or not signing up.
