    Hey devs!

    Samuraiko's videos show what is best about this game. They make my heart swell with emotion just watching them, and I get all sniffy and nostalgic for the last five years I have spent in Paragon City.

    Seriously, nothing Cryptic, NC Soft, or Paragon Studios has done has even come close. Those Captain Amazing videos were painful to watch they were so bad... they showed nothing at all about what is good about this game.

    Devs,

    You're paying people, professionals, to do less quality work for less results (ahem, subscription rates). This isn't the time to be cheap. CO is around the corner and they are advertising effectively.

    Dev Digest doesn't work but there is nothing stopping them from posting a new thread and copying the most important posts there.

    And have they disabled PMs (it seems so, can't PM them now) in favor of Twitter?
  3. Liberty's Channel

    PRIVATE - for channel invite contact @Steele Magnolia/Steele_Magnolia

    Channel standard of conduct: This is a kid-friendly channel. No obscene chat or subject matter. Those violating the EULA will be silenced or kicked.

    Purpose: This is a Liberty server channel meant to be a safe and friendly place to find teams, form task forces, join rikti raids, zombie invasion teams, fight GMs like Adamastor, or just shoot the breeze.

    Ditto. Between my husband and I we've tried Guildwars, Conan, DDO, LOTRO (which I liked and bought a lifetime subscription for and play 2-3 times a month), and one other game I can't remember. We used to play EQ - the 1st day we tried this game we shut down our EQ accounts without even logging on again, after two and half years of playing every day. None of them come close to being as good for gameplay.

    Nothing beats travel powers, the costume creator, and fast action. Just wait until we get power customization and... *gasp* pink and aqua and lime green and cherry red and neon blue and orange splashing all over the screen in a rainbow of excitement. I can hardly wait!

    As a player I cannot enforce the EULA. I cannot issue bans or suspend accounts or moderate posts on the forums. As a player, I chose to silence people for what I perceived to be violations of the EULA. I could just as easily have silenced them for having a name I didn't like or being someone who annoyed me with bad tactics.

    To say I was 'enforcing the EULA' was a bad choice of words to reflect that. The EULA is part of the standard of conduct for the new channel. Politeness and friendliness is also very important. The standard of conduct for the channel will be enforced.

    The GMs enforce the EULA. I will enforce my standard of conduct for the channel.

    Not trying to stir trouble, but you are aware that a player trying to enforce the EULA is also against the EULA, right?
    Quote:

    If I'm not mistaken, they make good use of the phrase "or any other conduct determined to be inappropriate by NC Interactive Support, in its sole discretion".

    When it comes to actually enforcing the EULA, handing out bans and permanent account suspensions, Paragons Studios holds the big stick.

    A global channel moderator’s power is far, far less. It is akin to that of a team or sg leader. They have the star. They can ask you to stop talking and fight more, contribute salvage, stop cybering, silence you because they’re in a bad mood, or kick you for no reason at all. You the player have no recourse. This in no way tramples upon Paragon Studio’s purview because it is solely an in-game function with no repercussions. Silencing or kicking someone from a team, supergroup, or global channel does not break the EULA.

    That being said, I completely agree with your choice to create a 'family friendly' channel. You are well within your right to have a channel with rules as you see fit. I joined it immediately and added it to the chat tabs on the toons my kids play. Their toons have never had the LBx tab, and never will, just for the reasons that you have stated.
    Quote:

    Although we've not seen eye-to-eye on several occaisions, I will miss seeing you in LBx. If you should decide you want to rejoin, just let me know.
    Thank you. Allowing your children to join Liberty’s Channel is an extraordinary expression of trust. I will do my best to be worthy of it.

    =D

    As I noted, farmers generate a huge surplus of 'good stuff' that goes to fueling the market.

    Comparing these two posts is also illuminating- the "dirty farmer" is flooding the market with the stuff people want, while the "good casual gamer" is hoarding their drops and starving other players of drops they might be able to use.

    I wonder how TonyV will reconcile this bizarre conundrum!
    I'll leave the farmer to TonyV, but I will say that I'm not starving other players of drops they might be able to use. I'm giving them to other players who will use them. They just happen to be my SGmates, not strangers.

  13. I find the new sea green background easier on my eyes than the blue. It is taking some getting used to but my eyes are happier for it. The smaller text is the problem. The background needs to go, the forums need to take up the full screen to use full size 12 font for us vision challenged peopled.
  14. Some people may think they need a billion (or ten) influence. However there is power in collective IO creation, salvage collection, and sharing. My little SG with 5 salvage bins and four IO bins and a few active players doesn't have a problem outfitting our characters because we work together on it.

    We know each others' characters, we know in general what one another can use. If we get something useful we make it and bin it, it doesn't matter what it's worth, whether it's an Apocalypse or a Miracle Unique or a Numina Unique (all of which have been passed along). Rare salvage goes in the rare bins. Uncommon in the common bin. One bin each for arcane and tech salvage. Everyone has full vault as well. We almost never have to hit the market.

    Between merits, ticket rolls, and drops recipes are abundant. Salvage is abundant. Influence is sufficient and when we play our 50s it is abundant.

    I can see that for the soloist player who relies heavily on the market this would be a different story, but for someone with a trustworthy SG and friends cooperation would go a long way.

    When you have time, please add the following globals.

    @mattmiracle-Primary
    @mattmiracle-Second
    @ssimpson (my cousin's account)
    @ssimpson needs to drop a channel, he already belongs to the maximum number.

    Is your account @mattmiracle hidden? I wasn't able to send the invite or get an error message. The address you gave for the second account is identical to the first. Can you check that and get back to me? I'll be happy to invite.

I am just asking and oh yeah why cant i log on righhhhhht nowwwwww.
    There is a suggested age for play, as denoted by the game rating: T for Teen. However, as shown in the "What my 6-year old has learned for COH" thread and how it has been visited and posted in many times by the developers, young children do play and this is endorsed by the developer team. There is no age limit on this game.

    For the 'verbally inclined' and those who do not mind such chat there are LBx, 0.o, Robo's Lounge, and a host of other global channels. For those who do want a polite, kid-friendly channel there is this one channel. This is about choice. There is another very good reason there should be such a channel: The EULA.

    This small channel (currently around 60 members) in no way impinges upon your or any other player's play or chat style or choice. It is for those who want something different.

    Let us all have fun. That's what we're here for.

    As mentioned before I don't know... and don't want to know what happened regarding LBx... but I would certainly welcome an invite to the new channel here as well... But I agree that some on LBx are out of control with the way they talk... Even as a seasoned 'adult' (aged somewhere between dirt and a mature tree... hehe) I don't appreciate some of the chatter on LBx...
