It's not the size of the doodle, it's how you use it?
  2. Have you room for a Stasis on a WS?

  10. It's lovely - has a real medieval style to it, definitely something which wouldn't look out of place in a mythology book (meaning all this to be complimentary ). The eyes are breathtaking, are they glowing?

The aurora too, it's funny, the shape looks so simple to do, but it most certainly isn't! Beautiful picture!
  11. Sorry, but I have absolutely no idea what this is all about...
  12. Oh. My. God.

Catz, you've improved 100-fold! Moonshade is stunning (the character )!

Can I put in a request, when you've got some free time? Pleasepleasepleaseplease?

    Carni go bye bye

Have a wonderful last 6 months of freedom! If you do come back, until then! If not, I'm richer for knowing you...

...because I've been copying your posts down and passing them off as a self-help book. Ahem.

    Adios, Carni!
  14. Oooh, that's a wonderful costume, Hammerfall! I can't see any resemblance between him and The Green Lantern though.
  15. Oh, I'm a big one for paying homage to well known characters. One of Snaedis' earlier costumes was inspired by Snowbird of Alpha Flight, and my favourite costume on Stasis takes a lot of inspiration from 616 Rogue.

I also have a villain who could not look more like Erik (Phantom) if he wore the faceplate.

Though my favourite and arguably best costume I've ever created (Flittermaus') is all mine. Sometimes my own creativity can be just as awesome as other peoples' .

One of her costumes consists of the Metal top and bottoms (the one which covers little and looks nothing like metal)....

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've always avoided that one, simply because it keeps screaming "Witchblade!" at me - even more so than claws emulates Wolverine, that skin type seems to say Sara Pezzini and nothing else.

As per usual though, your actual mileage may vary.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, it's definitely one of the most generic superhero costume options - the same way the corset (Leather) top and bikini bottoms are very Hellfire Club.
  17. One of my characters: Snaedis, goes down the Mystique route of a state of undress. One of her costumes consists of the Metal top and bottoms (the one which covers little and looks nothing like metal) and full covering boots and gloves - but her skin is light blue. It's her natural skin, enhanced slightly by her powers (also, as an Ice Blaster, joke there), but as it's blue she seems to be less naked than she would be should her skin be a normal human colour.

All of her costumes, except that one, have backstories - I just thought the metal outfit looked nice, regardless of it being fully covering or skimpy.

My rule of thumb: If a costume looks good, it's a good costume - whether it's a mini skirt and bikini top, or all over body armour; and it doesn't necessarily need a backstory.

Regardless of what we may think of someone who simply wants to look beautiful, to the exclusion of all else, surely it would be worse if we remove the freedom of choice from them?

    [/ QUOTE ]

If someone was to do this, then there is something fundamentally wrong with it. Apologies here if you're shocked by that non-PC "we must tolerate all viewpoints" stance, but it's a fact and fairly well documented.

I could easily mention eating disorders, teenage girls and the advertising-fuelled beauty products industry here, but what it amounts to is that such a person would be leading a very shallow life and have little self esteem.

Frankly they'd need some serious counselling.

That's not to say that it's wrong to try to improve your appearance (darn Political Correctness creeping in again) but basing your whole life on how you look is not healthy. Ask any counsellor or psychiatrist.

Professional models would be an exception to this, but even then many models will strive to show that they're not quite as shallow as they're portrayed by the camera.

    Looks fade, a person doesn't.
And I'm aware I'm agreeing with GG here...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I assume here we're talking about all eating disorders, and not just those which end up decreasing the weight of someone? If so, I totally agree - if not, I think we need to be aware that a person eating to crush their emotions/low self esteem has just as much a problem as a person refusing to eat for the same reason - and then I agree.

However, I do find it annoying that some will see a very thin woman (same for men, but incredibly rare) and immediately assume she only eats salads or is anorexic/bulimic. Bodies come in all shapes and sizes, and most are carried off beautifully by the person inside - just because someone is rake thin, doesn't mean they're pandering to popular culture or have an eating disorder; likewise, someone who is large isn't necessarily a lazy bum who'll eat everything and anything put in front of them .

Also, as for the realism part - no body is realistic, as no two bodies are the same. There certainly will be very thin women with very large breasts (naturally) and very muscley men with scrawny legs.

I've got size 13 shoes. Max is much taller than me and has smaller shoes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Indeed, I'm only a size 10. And my friend who's about the same height as Silver Weasel has size 15 feet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, you know what they say about the size of a man's feet...

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's really, really hard to buy them fun novelty socks from Primark, who only seem to go up to size 10 for men.

    Stupid lovely wonderful Primark.
  20. I've got size 6 feet, which I know sounds tiny, but for my size - they're huge; and I'm definitely more clumsy on them (despite x years of ballet training) than Weasel is on his.

A friend of mine who's slightly shorter has size 7 feet, and another who's the same height more or less has size 4.
