I am under the impression that both Trip Mine and Time Bomb are affected by Targeting Drone. This buff is constant, so its much easier to get it to apply than Aim. Not sure though.
Anyone else who has a more informed opinion on this? -

* Players may experience respec issues with a Kheldian character while slotting energy flight, rest, or sprint. If you would like to slot any of these powers we highly suggest you hold on to your respec for the time being.
[/ QUOTE ]
Does this bug apply to Energy Flight? Kheldians cannot slot any other version of flight, so I assume it does, but shouldn't the known bugs file refeer to the power properly? -
Just a not on villain groups: While no ONE villain group qualifies as the coolest thing around, the fact that they have so much IDENTITY is very imporant. It really matters if you are fighting Nemesis or Devouring Earth. Banished Pantheon are nothing like Circle of Thorns at the same levels. Etc.
It is not like you fight fish men throughout your career, only growing slightly larger and changing color over the levels. -

I really would like to see some advancement in the overall storyline in this game...

I dodn't want to hijack this thread, so I wrote an answer to this in a separate thread: Storylines and In-Game History . -
Costumes was the winner on that list. The real winner is the customability of characters. I love how the game plays differently with each of my 30+ toons. Second is the fast-paced and wild nature of multi-opponent combat compared to other MoGs. Costumes are a very strong third.
Edit: This doesn't mean costumes should be the #1 priority for developers. The reason the other aspects of the game are less valued than costumes is because they need more development. This is particularily true of story lines - making the story fluff texts avaialble to everyone (not just the team lead) would increase the value of the story by a lot.
I think a more telling survey would be "What part of the game is in need of development?". -

- Capes. I've noticed just recently (in rear/back view) that the capes don't seem to sit across the shoulders properly, that is, they don't flow like they used to. I can see a clear visible line across the shoulders, so the cape looks like it's been tacked together in two pieces, and sometimes there is a gap between them.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is a bug, but it comes and goes. Sometimes you get this; when you rezone it is usually gone. Seems the cape misaligns with the shoulders, and when the toon is re-drawn after a transit, it is realigned. Its correct about 90% of the time, but still annoying when it happens.
Think this used to happen more frequently back when capes first appeared, or I may just be more jaded now. -
Four bugs:
Supergroup Color Bug. The supergroup properties change when a costume uses the supergroup colors. This might not truly be costume related, but it's the worst of the lot.
Bald head shading error. Shadows where highlights are supposed to be, and vice versa. Looks like reversed surface normals.
Ill-fitting fishnet pattersn. The Mesh pattern is the closest to fishnets we got for a top, and it doesn't fit with other fishnet items. Also, why does the fully colored area reach the sides on this item; couldn't the "panty" section stay between the legs?
Ring Strap Shoulder Blade Clipping. This one is old, and was introduced in a costume update way back . Ring straps didn't use to clip like this. -
When you pan the camera to watch yourself in the cool new flight poses, your vertical flight direction changes. You cannot watch yourself from above, or you'll soon crash into the ground.
This is an old issue, but made more acute by the new poses.
A friend of mine says heäll reopen his account if this is fixed. -

Gadgets is the internal name of Devices. It's a Legacy issue and it was my mistake when adding the patch note.
As for the change itself, there was an exploit involving TFoe and various stationary entities (like Auto Turret.) In fixing this, the player versions of these entities were locked down as well. I do realise this impacts one of the tactics Devices players used to bypass the limitations of the set. I'll be keeping an eye on this to see if the change hampers the gameplay too severely.
[/ QUOTE ]
And I was hopiong Gadgets was a new scraper defensive set à la Batman. THAT would be nice!
If the "exploit" is to tp auto turrets into disued areas, I don't think that qualifies as an explot at all. Solo, those turrets are incredibly tedious; they give no xp and take an inornate amount of damage. Ignoring them during the fight and then tp-ing them into a corners seems perfectly legitimate.
Actually, I preferred them back when they disappeared as the technician went down like most other drops do. Such as a player-owned auto turret I suppose, only they are so rare I've never seen this. Which speaks volues on how useful they are.
This looks like another case of balance by PITA. Try to avoid that. -
Cool guide, but I'd write the same guide from the opposite perspective. You generally focus on filling the gaps and holes in primaries with abilities from the secondary. I tend to focus on powers that give escalating synergies - who cares about the holes in the build if your strong points are really strong?
This is not a guide proper, merely some observations I've made and some builds I'm playing.
Earth Control
Agree storm works best here, and my earth controller is storm. But I think Rad7Choking Cloud ought to mesh very well with Quicksand because of the -Acc.
Fire Control
My Fire controller is Trick Arrow. Hot Feet automatically ignites Oil Slick with no extra effort. This makes my damage very nice indeed. Trick Arrow is a dark horse; the added single-target control makes boss holing a breeze, and things like Glue Arrow are a great boon indeed.
Ice Control
I have a lvl 50 Ice/Kin, which is not bad, but is seriously lacking in synergies. Arctic Air is good, but draws plenty of aggro. By level 30, you are almost guaranteed to get mezed when using it. The way around this is to get Sonic or Force Field. But I generally find Ice a little lacking - the lack of alpha mitigation hurts the set badly.
Gravity Control
I want to like this set, but I've failed so far.
Illusion Control
Illusion is a very nice set but has few synergies that I can see.
Mind Control
My mind is a sonic. Sonic Siphon (the first power) has a reasonably fast recharge ad works decently as a part of an attack chain with Mind's single-target powers, giving you a decent-damage single-target attack chain. But the synergy is not really startling. -
I make a list of the changes between editions that could warrant a free respec. This is what we got now, since I7, and before I8 even launches. IMHO, the fly changes alone merit a freespec; it affects about 1/3 of all toons past 14.
Swift, Quickness and Lightning Reflexes now grant a bonus to Flight Speed, in addition to their existing Resistance to Flight Speed debuffs.
Reduced Endurance Cost for Power Pool Flight
Added Toxic Resist to Sonic Dispersion power for Corruptors, Controllers and Defenders. The help text has always stated that Toxic damage was resisted by this power, so we added it.
Dominator Icy Assault Ice Sword Circle has had the long pause after casting removed.
Numerous changes to Oil Slick to make it actually ignite -
Just hoping those of us who went from US to EU accounts get our time moved over.

Reposted here because I posted it in the costume wish list without thinking:
There is an issue with skirts and the new panties with bare legs. Depending on setting, skirts disappear at range. With old panty options, you could make a leotard, where your panties and chest were one piece. Thus you could look somewhat superheroic at a distance. Now you only have the new model panties, which makes you seem like a flasher at range. -
Spoiling about as much as the title of the mission does.
But yes. -
That's to the wonders of Google, I fond this post by DoctorAbominable on how to do the mission where you are betrayed by Mako despite it having dropped from the forum. Decided to re-post it in guides.

Mission Feedback
Last mission of Mako's second arc
"Enact Ritual on Leviathan etc."
This mission is whack in several ways.
- The whirlwind things all over the map are fun and all, throwing people around despite Acrobatics, but there are just too many of them in the big rooms. As a Master Mind, I think I added maybe 10 damage during the entire fight with Calystix thanks to the whirlwinds perma-juggling my pets.
- BUG--Players can't target whirlwinds, and they can't be damaged, but my henchman pets shot at them every chance they got.
- The psychic Fonts do too much damage.
- The location of the "clickie" where you enact the ritual is not real clear. It took us forever to realize it was on the side of the giant tooth.
- Mako and his ambush... well, let's just say Mako was a TOTAL WUSS!!! With the exact same team composure, AV Mako was far easier than AV Calystix, and he was even easier than the EB Fonts! He literally did no damage to our Brute and went down in about 30 seconds. Extremely anticlimactic. Buff Mako!!!
[/ QUOTE ] -
My think about the new epics is that they all (except Incanate) seem so... ikky. Brown blobs of coral and tentacle squids. Is that really superheroic?
-
The long and short of the damaging control sets (Fire, Gravity, Mind, in that order) is that they work much better for Controllers (with Containment) than they work for Dominators. Compared to what you get in your secondary, the attacks in your primary are lacklustre, and your ranged damage is so bad you can't even rely on those.
Goes off to plan a melee dominator build for the Plant/Fire -

I have not played Troller so I can't say for sure but if the dev wants everything to revolve around "Domination", then those of us who choose to play Dominator should try to achieve that goal. If not, maybe Controller is a better choice of AT for you? That's what I am trying to tell myself now.
[/ QUOTE ]
Amen! Controllers I love. Domination is like a drug, you want more, you need to keep very busy to get it, but you end up hung-over and broke. -
All CoV ATs are very dependent on their special ability. Brutes and Stalkers would be helpless/pointless without theirs, masterminds have theirs heavily integrated with their primary (basically, the pet control window is a part of their special ability). Corruptors escape this with a special ability that does pretty little - but have versatility in their powers instead.
I dislike this dependency on special ability. It makes all villains of one AT more or less the same - in particular the difference between any two Brutes or Stalkers is too small.
Therefore I wish LESS emphasis placed on Domination, and I want dominators to function better normally and less well on Domination. There are already overdrive powers in this game - Hasten being the easiest to access. Some people like such powers, other's don't. Forcing them down our throats is a bad idea and will make Dominators less appealing. -
My trouble with Dominators is that they are too dependent on Domination and too lacklustre without it. Adding Mez resistance to Domination only makes this worse (though it does make the class stronger).
What Dominators need is an always on damage increase. Having an entire secondary devoted to damage, but which in fact does insignificant damage, is a waste. If we pay for this by losing our damage bonus in Domination, thats fine by me. -

Nice guide!
Pre-I7, Surging was given for defeating Deathsurge (the Gremlin Monster) in Cap Au Diable. Is this no longer correct?

That is still correct. I just got it the other day on my Mastermind for defeating him.
