I spent about twice as much time on it than I ordinarily do because it was a special present I'm thrilled she liked it!!

OOo Oooo i found a FABULOUS tutorial on it!!! You can find it here I've used some of the ideas in there to pretty good effect. He uses some steps I leave out (I don't use gray flats first, or the magic wand) but his coloring ideas are GREAT! (He's also got a few other good ones on skin etc.)

I would recommend checking out Graver (link in siggy) He has all of his information linked in his journal. It might be a bit of a wait, but he's awesome.

Yeah, ordinarily a chibi takes about 2-3 hours sketching included, but these took waaay more fiddling. I like the look better, but I just don't want to spend that kind of time on them XD

After my last foray into Painter I thought it might be cute to do a couple of chibis in Painter!!! It took WAY longer than chibis normally do (so you probably won't see any more Painter chibis unless you're a Special Friend (tm) ) but I think the results were very cute.

OOoooo this is going to look SO COOL!!!!

I still like his face!! You still need to slope the shoulders a tad bit more, but it's definitely an improvement. I know in all the "learn how to draw" books you draw a straight line across to set the shoulder line, but once you get the muscles on top they don't go straight across from the neck. (They're also a liiittle bit to wide )
