Part of the problem is the instinct to flee when hit, now I can 2 shot blasters so you dont have much opportunity to retaliate or to flee due to my ranged attack but if you just get off one attack your power will be devastating due to defiance. I have got someone down to about 5 hps before then they one shotted me due to defiance, its a great inherant power and should be used more, its like a "from hells heart I stab at thee" kind of last ditch attack but does often work.
Oh and things dont always go oour own way, oranised teams especially with controllers can put a crimp on anyones day -

Good to see you are trying out the AT for yourself, its much harder to play than people imagine and have a definitive strategic element that only this AT has in pvp. Once you have played it you will see its not the uber character people on the receiving end of AS think it is
As for Sirens Call sorry about thatThere are a couple of pretty good stalkers who haunt that place and I hope I am one of them, I worked hard to get a good build on my stalker and sacrificed virtually all defence to enable me to utilize numerous pool powers to get those who are out of range of most stalkers (most dont have fly and SS for example
)

Well to be fair we did try those tactics on you. We had in turns both a Fire Tank (Firey Rose) and an Ice Tank ( Ice Rose) in the team with us and you managed to still get AS on both of them despite all the flamey and icey bits and bobs being thrown around. We even had our illusion controller throw pets at you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Getting through the PBAOES like on Ice and Fiery Rose isnt easy I can assure you, and I had to abort assaults on these players numerous times

I'd agree. I do often quite enjoy PvP. And I never ever whinge or moan. You'll notice that that day you took me down repeatedly I said nothing at all on the chat channels. (OK your name was mud on TS as I swore like a trooper!!) But in the game itself I was fair game, you played your Stalker exceedingly well and I died repeatedly. That's the game and I accept that. I'm a nice chap and I would never moan or whinge over the chat channels.

lol, nope I didnt get any nasty messages from you in the game itself and will try to take the abuse my name received on teamspeak as a badge of honourIts good to maintain niceties in the game because it just ruins it for everyone if it goes sour. I always try to get everyone that goes in Sirens to TURN ON HERO/VILLAIN CHAT in order to help with the pleasant atmosphere that we usually have.
I do also admit my character is a huge compromise, he is a dedicated pvp build and is very squishy in missions but I really am enjoying the interaction of PVP at the moment, I prefer to go against real intelligence instead of the AI of the missions and enjoy the social interaction also. A lot of people do spec their toons to PVP (or hami spec) when they get to 50, I personally have took my empathy in and out of Hami spec about 5 timesbut you are right not everyone does or should, its down to what you want out of the game, pvp is not for everyone neither is roleplay (no interest in this) but we all have our own little quirks
I concur you are not making any mistakes per se but there are other things you can do, stand in someones pbaoe is a good one for example. I usually try to form teams in Sirens to give advise to less experienced players/stalkers and you would be surprised just how often their name goes black and we get tells asking how the hell we are staying alive when they cannot, I feel this is down to build and experience (I have also hit the ceiling cap in terms of pvp points)
Seriously though PVP is a lot of fun, you may enjoy building a specific toon more than you think, I have so many alts its not even funny anymore and am trying to build a killer Dominator now as soon as I can pry myself away from Stalky and SirensI do die albeit not very often but there are plenty of other pvpers on both sides who also fall into that category (Talin, Agent Matron and many others) When I had my empathy as my main I hated PVP but I love it now
Oh and on defiant I have made a Sirens Call Global Chat room imaginatively called "Global Sirens"
right click on chat window, click on join channel then type Global Sirens
To speak on it after changing channels right click on chat window and tick the relevant channel box. Thats my total working knowledge of Global

hmmmmm stalker tbh is quite weak AT and has nothing else to do than constantly try to land a kill from single left out players. A stalker is doomed in teams that know what they are doing and i usually just ignore the stalkers until nothing else is left to kill. Then all i do is trap em which is the easiest thing to do cause they need melee. The other major disadvantage is that all stalkers now seem to go for the energy set to avoid tp foewell i got news for them and here is how to take them down. Use intimidate as an open move on them and a -fly move and they are pinned on the ground helpless from that point on they are just cannon fodder for the team. I usually not care about stalkers when i got an empath on team since the 3rchrg cm that is the current max efficiency for pvp for empath allows us an insane amount of cm stacking for the tp belt...so we pretty much see them all. Stalker is actually a doomed set in team PvP with very limited use to scrap away lonely targets. In a compact team this is highly unlikely.

I disagree, in a team my Stalker is a precision instrument at times and a contoller-killer at others. Having a team playing distraction enables me to rely less on my stealth and hide and can get criticals with impale on key figures with less worry about being targeted by said players. It does change the team dynamics but i think a good stalker is able to adapt and not have to rely solely on AS (just AS and impale
) As for -fly, its annoying as hell but my secondary travel power is always on for a speedy getaway

Hey guys I made a Global Channel for Sirens Call imaginately called "Global Sirens"
right click on chat window, click on join channel then type Global Sirens

Silent Scope with his targetting drone was unable to see my stalker with Hide and Stealth last night when we tested last night

Spurr my sonic blaster just hit sec lvl 24, and I noticed a big difference in his performance in sirens call.
Ignoring the bad start to the night (tp and hold death galore), I went solo and defeated someone, and when in the hero team of death I managed to considerably maim a few others
I was actualy hitting villains which made a big improvment over lvls 20-23.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep I noticed you were actually hitting my Stalker today as opposed to being lucky to knock my brute out of his dance routine, by lvl 30 you will be pretty damn good Im sure (I advise getting stealth though)

But the moral of the story if your a hero is.....................kill Stalk-obot he will be worth loads of rep
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup, earned alot of reputation from him, too bad he often leaves when I bring my sg.
[/ QUOTE ]
lol it was 3am and I do need to sleep occasionally, despite all appearances I dont live in there and I dont think anyone will say I dont spend enough time in therehave also killed most of your SG before including G
-
Gratz man, good to see your hero in Sirens too
-
Snow, Spurr, Pixie, Witch Doktor its a delight to see you and all the rest in Sirens, always good to see people enjoying pvp and not moaning.
Spurr your points degrade by 1 every day as far as I know and does not decrease with the amount of times you have been killed
I dont recall being stunned even by NRG blasters in normal combat but do lose a toggle or two, I am actually very squishy but use my 2 travel powers as best I canThe best trick is to stack holds and slows on me, it takes a few to actually hold me but the slower I am the less I can get away, hmmm Perhaps I shouldnt be telling people this....

Never managed to one shot any AT aside from controllers/defenders without using insp, can only one shot them using build up also, cant really see a way to one shotting a properly build regen. (That said I had a rogue 1200pt hit on Poss with impale the other night)
In my experience Targeting drone cant see through stacked hide and stealth (which all real pvp stalker have/will get) Its interesting to watch devices blasters playing an almost stalker way with cloaking device, I only got fooled onto those mines once
As I said there are 0 bad ATs in pvp, its just knowing how to use what you have to the best effect
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah I use them Insp to one shot people and build up but its still one shot and thats what counts. And im pretty sure TD can see them stalkers with Hide and stealth up but will test it out later with Doulos.
[/ QUOTE ]
I dont think it does on its own, I know tactics alone cannot see through hide and stealth and cant imagine targeting drone being more powerful than this (coupled to the fact that I know a number of devices blasters who havent seen me)
Let me know either way -
I really cant be bothered to read all of this but if its the usual dross about them being too good then I simply say rubbish. Each and every AT is what you make it and I know Controllers and Defenders who are nigh on impossible to pin down in Sirens Call, also plenty of ATs have PBAOEs and things like ice and fire rain which takes out the hide/AS which is fundamental to the buildand turns a hidden assassin into an exposed squishy.
I dont see why people moan on and on on the same things, I dont whinge about storm controllers, I made a specific build to take them down and from the same logic I could certainly build a stalker hunter. Think it through and you can find a way through anything.
All the regular people I pvp with in Sirens call are an awesome bunch and we have a lot of fun but no of us stand around whinging about each others advantages. I actually think the balance in PVP is very good, if people have problems its generally experience, lack of practice and build. -

Yeah after checking my brute who has nothing like 400 pvp points but had done a load of missions in the zones it seems that you do get the badges for the missions and a lot faster too. I wonder if its a bug
Pixie Tricks and Witch Doktor do indeed rule, great fun and good attitudes, I hope they will join us all as pvp regulars -

i ll be there too(as if i would miss that)
[/ QUOTE ]
on what side? (please say villains)
-
Im sure myself and a few other stalkers who are always lurking in Sirens Call will be there
-
Ok after numerous days of hero stabbing I finally clocked 400 pvp points in Sirens Call (I never leave
) but i was mildly disappointed that you cannot get any more than this
I know there is a degredation of the points that means u have to continually top it up but still, I would have much rathered the chance to keep going and maybe earn more badges (I got the Longbow Warden 2 gladiator badge for it, I am not sure but you mey get that doing pvp missions too) I just cant see the point of capping it.
Oh well I hope they raise the cap like the villain lvl cap in I7 -
I feel the stalker is the best AT in PVP
JIMO of course. As for those who do not appear to be suited for pvp zones I think they may suprise all with the correct build and pool powers. All ATs have their strong point

Just watched that vid, and i gotta say that it reminded me a few battles i've been involved in. Any of you who havent experienced the PvP zones yet give em a go cos every so often it really does get like it shows in that vid. Most of the time its a lot quieter, but the times when the big battles arrive are amazing, pretty much what you've just watched.
[/ QUOTE ]
yep the big battle are fun, with all the confusion its easiler to sneak in and.......*stab* -

I have got very good at timing my SJ so that I can land just behind some one when there activating there powers so that I can land an assasin strike. It might not kill em but it dose enought damage so that the person there fighting can kill them.

Heh nice tactic too bad this kind of tactic doesnt work on me and you ll still end up deadbut the effort always appreciated

Always good to see you in Sirens regardless of which side you are playing for
Nice to be getting a regular group of nice people in there.

Mine has sucktastic defence but it hasnt held me back, I only have Hide and entropy sheild in the EA set at lvl 27. That said I did design it specifically for PVP where its working out quite nicely.
