    thats all well and good and clearly no AT can be set up for all scenarios, I was refering to the 2 blasters + I empath situation that was said to "overbalance" a battle against stalkers.

    Stalkers are not the be all and end all and are easily countered, my BS/SR chopped up no end of them in SC utilizing parry to good effect, indeed I had 5 of them on me at once point, all missing all getting chopped up

    As for your hypothetical situation and defence that you are proposing simple thermals with forge can raise acc and damage enough to be able to circumvent your defences. Fortunately the game (dispite people protesting when one build is played well) is pretty well balanced and there is ALWAYS an antithesis available, its just a case of finding it.

    Even heroes with MAXED perception cap cannot see stalkers with hide + Stealth + Invis other except within 10ft. 10 ft is NOT enough distance for the heroes in this hypothetical situation to act in a manner that is anyway threatening to stalkers in said condition.

    Our fast strike stalkers are adept at working in tandem and simultaneous strikes on same target (we dont use AS) would result in a dead hero. Of course they can move about and make it difficult but at no time should stalkers in this situation as I have described be in any remote danger.

    I am not prone to statements of bravado nor do I profess to be a good pvp player, merely played the game enough on both sides and am analytical enough to see all possibilities and scenarios. reaching and maintaining perception cap is a lot more bothersome than remaining on the stealth cap.

    My money is on the blasters + emp, but it could be a close and interesting fight. If the stalkers all had spines (easiest way to spike), they would probably have good odds.

As a claws stalker (especially with hasten) you are going to be able to buzz through bad guys without the need for placate anyway. Plus leaving Placate to higher levels allows you to slot it with recharge SOs straight away.

    I did the same with Stalk, I got BU at 28 and placate at 30, I had a lot of pool powers and end reds to fit in for his specific build for zonal combat

    with prestige being nessesary for bases many heroes are rapidly running out of influence, most of my 50s are nigh on destitute

    Not AOEs per se, cones and aoes which are more prevailant than you may think, ripper is a cone attack as is throw spines. From corrupter sets dark blast has 4 (3 cones 1 aoe) in primary (Im not not counting nukes btw) 2 in energy blast, 4 in AR, 3 in fire (would ahve sworn this would ahve been more ) 2 in ice, 3 in rad blast, 3 in sonic. this is a hell of a lot of attacks you are gimping yourself against by ignoring a specific power.

    It gets worse with dominators, they average 6 aoe/cone attacks in their primary but dont worry you should be fine against MA stalkers as they are all single target

    at best you will be open to 25% of attacks and at worst 50% from corrupters (again not counting nukes in anyway) and up to 75% of dominator primaries, I wouldnt like to be without AOE/Cone def when domination is up, you may as well just drop your toggles as pb will count for little. SR is def and you should use it IMHO
  9. LR is one of the best powers in the game AOE super slow and awesome -regen power. Put "I have Lingering Rad" in your search comment and watch the invites from people fighting AVs come in
  10. I was in SC tonight with my BS/SR and was literally destroying villains left and right and given that the topic of conversation (all pleasant) moved onto how overpowered SR is I wouldnt say its a weak set

  13. SR is a great set at higher levels, its not worse than regen in want way, just different, a fire/kin can wipe my spines/regen with impunity while my BS/SR destroys them, all swings and roundabouts, I think the balancing is very impresive tbh

    In SC i went toe to toe with my spines/regen Vs a SS/Inv brute and it was remarkably good fun, it lasted quite a while with heals and dull pains being fired off (no insp) my initial advantage was slowly eroded away by the brutes growing power. It literally did come down to the last hit, which unfortunately for me he got Was a lot of fun.

Spines regens are going to have a short sharp shock sooner rather than later, with the AV change -regens abilities have been thrust into the spotlight and people are now realising the power of these capabilities. Indeed many people have started rads/therms/colds/darks/poisons/robots and so on which when high enough are going to give regens a bloody nose.

    On the RV event I made an Ice/Therm corrupter who took down every regen I came across, they would usually chase me I pull them to where it was just 1v1, turn, heat exhaustion and a barrage of ice. Result, no end, no regen, no power rotation and I could still heal any damage being done to myself.

    The age of spines/regens are pretty much at an end as more and more are going to be relocating to Recluses Victory.

    yep its not needed right up untill someone starts building anti SR toons like the anti-regens that have cropped up as a result of the AV changes but will have aknock on effect in pvp. As I said the AOE def isnt just AOE def, its also very good agaisnt cone attacks of which there are more than a few and can be very nasty (frost breath bugged me the other day ). Its all down to personal preference, I dont take ANY def on my stalkers and do just fine with them (no they are not regens) Evasion is a nice cheap toggle and has negliable end requirements. Also people actually do pvp outside of elude :P

    As for weapon mastery, web grenades are one of the most evil and negates 2 travel powers (sj and fly) at a stroke and all the bfs in the world cant regain the lost mobility, the stacked -recharge can also be very annoying, only thing I will say it is a fairly end expensive power especially as you will want to throw more and more I may respec this into a rebuild on my regen to see how it goes though as could cure the lack of stuns spines carries. I would still go FA for the +acc bonus and the ability to see stalkers, SR has a wonderful built in + perception, its such a shame not to take another and see stalkers in their pretty much standard build.
  18. If I found myself alone in RV and someone was doing something like badge hunting or testing or so on I would leave them alone. Simply put I would sooner pvp with someone who wants to thank grab a kill from an unprepared target, wheres the sport?

    For zonal PVP aoe def and lucky are both useful, Evasion offers great def from cone attacks as well as aoes and lucky is an auto (i personally like things that cost no end ), FA and conserve power are pretty damn useful in RV which should be a pretty fun zone shortly, especially for a SR as can see stalkers and conserve will enable you to last in a prolonged battle. Arena, thay are still useful but not as much.

    im not entering and to be honest I think the inherant weaknesses in ATs are well known and publicised No insp use would be great in a 1AT tournament but in a league no insp would just eliminate more ATs and players IMHO

    No inspirations means defenders and blaster are total meat for controllers.

    Judicious inspiration use allows "weaker" builds to overcome inherant weaknesses, otherwise we may as well set up a scrapper only league IMHO

    It really doesnt matter if you want to hear from me or other people at all, this is a public forum for the subscribers of COx and as such entitled to pass any opinion upon any topic so long as I am not in breach of the rules.

    My posts were critical for a reason, as far as I, and others, can see its hugely flawed. Raising the points that I did, with others should give you enough feedback to work around things, such as no entering your own events with rules stacked in favour of your chosen AT.

    Just a suggestion

    Have a blaster v's a troller fight where insps are not allowed at all?

    Have a 10 min fight where a blaster have 25 of the big bf's?

    Not exactly the same foot as the poor blaster who has no big bf's and has to rely on the little ones.

    I think giving blaster possible immunity for 62.5% of the time is favouring them by at least 12.5%.

    Checking trays is massively undynamic and will slow down the already slow arena events. How can you tell accolades are activated?

    What is my personaly feelings on the way that this comes across is that you have balanced this in the favour of controllers I.E. what you ahve entered and this doesnt look very good. Where are the balancing for defenders?

    In the comments that you ahve had back they ahve all said 20 mins is too long for a 1v1, even other controllers have said this.

    As opposed to attempting to redress the balance in just 1 ATs favour which is all you have done so far why not accept the inherant weaknesses in the characters and play to have some fun.

    All i can see is a logistical nightmare and an attempt to bolster your own characters chances in the arena. Im sorry if that wasnt your intention but that is how it seems.
  24. well there a set of unenforceable rules if I ever saw one, half accolades are auto, half temp are auto, how the fudge can you see if a player has small, medium of large insps? How can you police voice coms?

    Seems that a number of rules are aimed at rebalancing in controllers favour which doesnt look good as you have entered your own troller. 20 mins to burn through all the BFs and big BFs not allowed just seem geared to your favour.
