Sure, his powers don't work the same as Empathy in City of Heroes, so perhaps Linderman is a better example.
[/ QUOTE ]
As far as I'm concerned this is pretty much a conceptual coffin nail in any argument that empaths aren't evil
Linderman is more or less a one man refutation of that whole position.
Sure call it something else... change absorb pain for another power, but basically... same set, just used for different goals. -
um...
This
looks
broken...
ah well, I havn't seen the details, so maybe some of the powers are a little different -
Looks great to me.
Usual concern about the Phat Lewt of course... but hey, how bad can it be?
Looks awsome. Really. -
Cafination does look like it could help turn the tide against some AVs, particularly if you had a recharge sensative primary like DM
I've always wanted more single shot food buff temp powers available...
You know... Everything from junk food to vegan soup to chai lattes... Short duration, and available at all the fine restaraunts that seem to be scattered around Paragon and the rogue isles...
Heck even a hotdog (maybe they sell vegi-dogs too?) might buff... well... something...
This sort of thing was kind of around with drops of power from the bar at pocket D, and of course there are inspirations... but these just don't have the same... (oh dear) [i]"flavour"
EDIT: I mean really, doesn't the image of a couple of heroes stopping off for double espressos before tackling a tough mission seem reasonable?
And the granite tanker with an egg-cup sized double espresso short... (that emote shouldn't scale) that'd be entertaining to say the least. -

Hey now, curry is faar from toxic! Korma, Handi, Haleem, Nehari, Palak, Biryani.... Mmmmm!!
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh I love curry, there's a place about a click away from my house that makes a great mixed vegetable vindaloo and chicken madras, mix 'em together and it's just perfect...
but 1000 calories of fat in a single burger? yikes -

because anything else hinges on the frequency one eats at McDonald's and not simply a single visit.

Dude... when was the last time you hammered down two sausage, egg and cheese McGriddles and a coke?
It's so good goin down... but 20 minutes later you feel like you had ingested a 5th of drano with some shots of paint thinner.
[/ QUOTE ]
When I was a kid I ate 22 pieces of bacon in one sitting. Tasted awesome going down, but man did I feel like crap for several hours after that. (I didn't puke or anything, though.) That taught me a bit of moderation is a good thing.
[/ QUOTE ]
I had a Hardees Monster Thickburger (2/3lb burger, bacon, lots of cheese) last weekend with a large order of curly fries to boot. I felt groggy and sluggish for the entire day. Weighing in at 1420 calories (with nearly 1000 of those calories coming from fat), the burger is appropriately named. Of course, the burgers used in testing probably didn't have a gravy ladle's worth of mayo on them like mine did. Tack on another 500+ calories for the fries, and you have the makings for a bad day. I'm not a small guy (6'2"/215 lbs), but I'm not big enough to wolf down 2000 calories worth of grease and bread in twenty minutes without paying the price.
After eating that monstrosity, I decided that Wendy's Baconator belongs on the kids menu.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ooof! Just the thought of that makes me cringe, and I still have a few years of youth left in me. Now give me a dish of curry, rice, and naan bread? I'll eat an entire day's worth of calories in one sitting... of course, it isn't all grease.

I run.
I run a lot.
Even if I would burn it off on a sunday morning run, I wouldn't even dream of eating some of the stuff these guys are talking about, even the thought of it just makes me shudder...
If they can recover from that... they must truly have dull pain, and I think they slotted their toxic resists. -

mmmm grits.... grits, eggs, sausage, bacon and grape jelly all mixed up in a bowl...
<slobbers on self>
[/ QUOTE ]
That's vile
The only appropriate addition to eggs would be a nice hot sauce.
Edit: actually eggs with smoked trout and a hollandaise sauce sauce can work too -

See highlighted text.
I only mentioned one thing folks. I'm not suggesting you start eating at McDonald's. I much prefer the local restaurants who use local organic food. BUT!!! That has nothing to do with what I said.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wouldn't normally care, but I'm staring at an intractable problem at work right now, and I'm venting.
I'm calling you on constructing a deliberately missleading statement by touting a single element, which may well be accurate, but is of limited relevance to the overall context of the larger, and more important discussion, that being: would Arcana eat at McDonald's except under pressure of relatively dire need. -

*Points Bill to the SR lounge*
plenty of seats in there
*ducks*
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought the SR lounge was just Arcanaville and a graphing calculator in a booth at the local McDonald's?
[/ QUOTE ]
For some reason I'd expect Arcana to know far too much about the content of such "food" to dine at such an establishment... But one never knows...
[/ QUOTE ]
Interestingly enough, McDonald's is one of the safer places to eat. Taste aside, you're generally much better off germ wise at a fast food place than at that nice local restaurant with the fabulous food.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't comment on germs, but I'm actually thinking in terms of nutrition and quality.
I don't think there's any possible way you can convince me that I'd do better with lunches at a fast food place than I do at the local vegetarian bakery. Black bean chilli with lots of mushrooms, awsome chick-pea or barley soups and kick-[bleep] chipotle-egg or hummus cranberry sandwiches for the win. Ranch beans with a scotch bonnet pepper in them, Mixed green salads with someone's homegrown straberry-tomatoes and slices of mango, or avacado, or whatever they felt like that day. Gooey gingerbread cookies that actually taste of ginger. real maple syrup and mounds of fresh fruit on wholewheat pancakes...
I mean seriously, you need good meals if you're going to save the world every second day.
It's an open kitchen too, so if you're inclined to doubt anyones culinary practices, just sit at the bar and watch what happens if anything falls on the floor... -

Do I like PvPing? A bit
Do I like the experience of PvPing in this game given the section of the comuntity one interacts with? much less. -

Besides, EvilGeko and Angry-Citizen would kidnap me, lock me in a room and do horrible things to me.

Dude.
All I would do is make you fix MoG.
And nerf mobs' Sm, Le resists.
And [censored for the benefit of the children].
And I'd probably help AC make you fix Stalkers.
That's all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Can you get him to add another layer of defence to /EA while you're at it? -
I have a lot of villains, one or two are downright nasty.
Most are not, they're selfish, maybe deluded or delusional, perhaps capable of some cruelty (they would think it to be justified vengence), but still avoid arcs like Phipp's, or Thermani's.
After playing my favourite brute in the RWZ for a few weeks, I find that going back red side just doesn't really work. Paper missions are fine (though I find myself skipping mayhem missions with this guy now) and the Cap Au Strike force is of course totally on the menu! but most of his remaining arcs simply aren't acceptable anymore. Come on, He "saved the world" and liked doing it! He's smashed countless rikti, he's delivered the final blow to the master at arms, and found that, really, This sort of thing makes for a better life than robbing banks...
So I guess the question is:
Does anyone else have a toon that's now become mired between worlds? -

All they even need to do is nerf Shivan's debuffing abilities and vola it's fixed.

No. Just nerf ultimus.
Give him a shiny badge, and special costume bits as a reward.
And Pie. -

I do...
Can you imagine a group of signiture heroes and villains carroling?
WHEEEEEEEEEE -
Just ran a couple of missions, and this "feels" like a notable difference. Instead of healing just a bit too slowly, I always seem to have my heal up when I need it...
That said, I havn't played my /fire much in 8 months, so my playstyle may have evolved a bit, lol! -
This is excellent news, and the fury bug is supposed to be fixed as well...
hmm, now which brute to play... -
may I suggest the web in warburg?
The spiderlings do no damage, and if you can get them to keep your fury up for you... you may be well placed to open up a can on the occasional unsuspecting /regen
There are of course a couple of problems
1. stalkers hunt you in warburg too. Not ideal
2. Most heros only fall for this once, or at most twice before they appreciate how dangerous a brute at full fury is
3. Most people wandering down there are farming nukes for PvE requirements. I consider that to be a noble and necessary exercise in the quest to destroy AVs and GMs given the current state of affairs. It seems a bit wrong to gank someone who's in there for much needed temp powers.
That said, it is, on occasion, hilarious. -
there havn't been any red name posts anywhere in a few days, They're probably all particularly preoccupied at the moment...
-
I doubt we'd ever own pvp, there will always be /rad corruptors and controllers. There will always be defenders who can cut away our shields and slowly torture us to death, there will always be highly effective finely tuned hero teams that will be very well set up to deal with us, hell even an ice/EM + ill/emp duo will probably be enough.
Still, looking forward to this though! -
Awsome, fix or no, it's clearly still on the radar!
