No it works on all clients.
The game code also unlocked the Valkyrie armor pieces and the "Mission teleporter". -
My burlesque/magician "Cosmic Ringmistress" is a grav/kin 'troller. As a Dominator, I'd probably have gone grav/psi.

Welcome, Missy K!
I think you were the one that got me into art-collecting. No, wait, it was Rowr. Or TA.
Actually it was all of y'all. -
Congrats, Fearghas.
Always knew you'd get places, with your writing. -
Yah well... I can tell this is gonna be a really popular feature.
-
Ohh yah. MUCH love for the Devs on this one.
I cobbled together a very rough Fraps capture on the Test server.
I particularly like the "Walking backwards" bit. I can totally see this in Costume Contests, now.
Enjoy, y'all.

....why do I have Bob Seger's "Her Strut" running through my head? Especially the guitar riffs?
-
I may have to do that, as well. Also, I found a relatively new website of his, http://kindredconcepts.com - I think he may actually have an email addy there.
Awaiting a refund as well, 'down payment' on a commission... and I could sure use the money right about now. -
*hugs all*
Hey sweet thangs!
I have to say, the Martial Arts booster is the awesome. I love it.
But sadly, there's still some toxic people around, so in the interests of "one less target" I'm cutting my return visit short.
See you next year when GR goes beta. -
Best way to take character screenies are in the Icon/Facemaker screens, or the Mission Architect Character Generator.
YOu won't get a screenshot file from pressing PrtScr but you WILL get the image copied to the clipboard. You just then need to open Paint or Photoshop, open a new document, and paste it in. -

YES!!!
*bounces* -
That's awesome!
And yes, I've induced quite a few headaches when running on my claw/SR scrapper...
"Slow down! we all need to rest!"
"Can't! Elude's still up! RAAAR!!!" *insert yet another Andy Capp fight cloud* -
Quote:I had a vision today...
You wander into Siren's Call and do a /whoall, and are delighted to find a list of 50 players in the zone! Unfortunately they're ALL Stalkers, and the zone appears entirely empty...
How on earth would this play out? No one could see anyone else, so no fighting would be happening.
This... is an argument for making Dark Astoria a PvP zone.
To the OP:
I've tried PvP, on several characters. Sadly, I'm not quite 'good' enough (either with builds or reflexes) to hang with the big dogs, and I get soundly whupped back under the porch with the CoH/V equivalent of a very LARGE rolled-up newspaper.
That said, I do enjoy ARENA PvP, not because I can change the rules and 'own' anyone (I still don't) but that I get to pick my opponents and my allies. It's more ... sporting... in my opinion, even if I lose.
You say that the trash-talkers are a minority. The problem is, a few hooligans WILL leave an impression, as opposed to a large group of folks who are civil.
They certainly left an impression on me - when that's all I heard in SC and RV, I stopped going there. When MArch resulted in a ton of farm spam in the lowbie zones? I quit playing entirely.
THAT is the impact that people being vocal and annoying will have on people who don't care for vocal and annoying. -
Go ahead and follow @SoulTrain0217 -- that's me, sweet thangs!
I'll TRY to keep my tweets limited to the CoHVerse - Mr. Spiner will just have to understand. Unless he'd like to join in, of course. -
I think they are listed on Virtueverse.com -- You could look up the listing and see who the officers are.

I'd say, if the name was available/freed up/given up, then 'speculation' on that name is within the rules of acceptable content.
If whoever had the name didn't want it traded about, why did they post it in the thread in the first place?
*Doesn't think Nadya was all that naughty, this time* -
*glares at the Vampire Kitteh*
Don't try it. I've heard Kitten Tacos are all the rage.
:P -
Whoa! I've been calendar'd!!
*hip-bumps Agg and the Shrike* -
This issue probably occurred because you patched your vid drivers, BUT you didn't completely restart the system after.
DLL files are Dynamic Link Libraries, batches of code that programs can call on when they're needed. However, they're not truly dynamic, in that when a device driver is loaded, it loads the DLL's that it uses.
Now, say you run a patch, which updates the DLL code on the disk, giving your vid card driver some new capabilities. However, the code that's currently being used by the computer isn't patched, cos it's being used, and it's bad form to update memory directly - tends to make things blow up in spectacular fashion.
So, you've a brand new video driver, but you're not using anything other than standard Windows calls, which probably haven't changed. Then you run your game... and it tries to call some code that HAS been changed... and the old copy of the DLL, still in memory, doesn't include the new functions, or references different memory addresses. It promptly crashes, and takes the driver with it... and the program that was using the driver.
That's when you see the dialogs above.
Now, if you'd restarted... you'd have loaded fresh shiny new stuff across the board.... theoretically. See... sometimes those driver install programs don't install a needed file if a copy already exists... an OLD copy. So if you've restarted and you still see this? UNINSTALL the driver, use Driver Cleaner or some other program to get rid of the driver's DLL files on the drive, then reinstall so that everything is a fresh copy. Then restart.
We seem to be doing a lot of restarting, don't we? Well, that's Windows for you. -
Quote:The patcher is changing the file sizes on several PIGG files, as it adds (or, rarely, removes) code inside them. This makes them interleave really really badly, because as one is expanded, the last few KB go into the file tables waay at the end, into unused space. Then the next file is expanded, and it leapfrogs over that one. Et cetera et cetera, ad nauseum.I don't know why the patcher frags the install directory like it does, but I've gotten into the habit of doing so after every patch regardless of whether anything is freaking out.
The game then lags cos ALL of the updated PIGG files are now fragmented, and the data load time is now longer and a little more chaotic.
When you defrag, they're restored to a nice orderly sequence of files, each relatively self contained. -
Du... er, gu... no wait.
MAN.
The characters are all ladies. *cough* Ok, fine. Women.
I guess I've got some odd complex, or something. -
Why not?
Character: La Diablesse - a succubus that was 'accidentally' bound to the Plane of Mortals by the precursors to the Circle of Thorns, the Oranbegans. She's a free spirit that does what she likes, torments whom she likes, and generally is here just to cause trouble wherever she likes.
It'd be interesting seeing her up against Demon Trix, perhaps playing a chess game, with souls of other characters as the pieces? *evil grin*
