Hey this version is awesometastic too.

didn't even notice that you shrunk the caboose. "bad Bobby! Bad! to adulterate the badonkadonk!!"
  2. God, she's a weathervane!! Now she wants to go but she's 'not sure'.

So we went and grabbed a reservation at a motel.

Might be on bike... might be in a minivan. With a wife, and a dog. Not sure.
  3. Wait wait... you DID get it from a clipart collection?

    *rereads posts*

OK that wasn't clear. Sounded like it was something you found. If it's in a clipart collection then it's been put up for public use (either for free or after paying for the privilege.)
  4. Uh... I'm not seeing the words "you were doing" in the original post by Sayterra either. Try again.
  5. read it again.

Sayterra stated: "You cannot alter images you randomly find on the internet. It's called copyright infringement."

Sayterra did NOT say: "OO, you're a thief cos you're altering images without permission."

She did not assume that you'd done this before OR that you would go through with it once you read her warning.

Now... shall we begin again, or would you like to stick to "Jumping to Conclusions" as your Final Jeopardy answer category?

*blinks* Not wearing undies? Wait a sec!! I know I put something on this morning...
  7. Maybe it's coincidence.

But... with a userID of "iPirate"... and you're asking how to alter unwatermarked images...

... my magic 8-Ball says "Signs point to YES"...

this forum has a lot of artists in it. Most (if not all) are very protective of their artwork, and take a dim view of using 'whatever you find' without being SURE you have permission to do so, regardless of whether the artwork is "tagged" or not.
  8. Wanted to post an errata.

The thumbnail for "Daisy Chain by John Becaro" actually leads to John Becaro's rendering for "Lucretia".

This is the correct link: http://professorblues.deviantart.com...ecaro-56665722
  9. OK, status update:

It's about a 4-hour ride from Dallas to Austin, soooo.... my wife has decided she doesn't really want to go.

So... I fixed the electrical problem on the bike (turned out to be a corroded/melted connector - these things happen with a 22-year-old bike), got it inspected, and then got it registered. So it's highway-legal as well as in top running shape.

SO... I'm leaving here around noon, should be at D&B's by the 6pm start time. I'll be the one riding the red and silver Yamaha.

As for the return trip... hey... I can ride in the dark.

Anyone want my tel#, send me a PM.

*sigh* install ONE bloody costume mod and look what happens. :P

    But I love it anyway.

I'll check the stages... I think we can probably come up with something.

    *is blown away*

    yeah I know. It's a tracing.

It still blows me away. I tried to do that, in Fireworks. It came out horribly. SO to see someone pull that off...

  12. Windows Movie Maker

I used to use iMovie on the Mac, but I didn't like the 'updates' they made to Quicktime. Screwed up the compression really bad.
  13. Hey I had to find something appropriate...

    Thanks!!
  14. My only response to that video is... This.

Not because it's relevant, or anything, just, after that advertisement, the only way I could maintain any sense of sanity was to watch a bunch of space castaways get completely schnockered.
  15. See I knew I'd stir up a brouhaha.

I'm in full agreement that the artist's priority needs to be communicated up front. That way there's no inflated expectations.
  16. This is going to sound snarky, so I promise I'm not pointing fingers specifically, this is just a general observation on policy.

The only gripe I have is when "donations" (paid-value commishs 'given away' as prizes or gifts for someone) get bumped to make way for real money.

Yes I know it's a donation of the artist's time. Bumping it back just devalues that time, it's no longer "you're in line with everyone else" but "oh yeah, you get the leftover minutes that come up when I'm NOT working on something lucrative."

If the artist is popular enough to always have commissions rolling in, then essentially what happens is, these "donations" NEVER get worked on (cos they're always being bumped). The recipient ends up feeling a bit ripped off, like they won a trip to the Caribbean, but then found out they have to wait for a spare seat on the plane that no one else will buy, whatever hoopty old-and-busted rental car that no one else wants, and the trashed motel room out back that everyone's afraid to go into.

In other words, the artist should treat this as a prize, not a handout.

So, if you're going to donate art for a contest, please, do one of two things:

    1) treat it as a full-payment commission, and work it with the same priority as everything else.

    2) tell the recipient up front what the terms are, before you get to sketching. They may opt to not accept it, or give it to someone else.

    That's all.

... you do know Athy has all the arm codes and aiming coordinates for that, right?
  18. hey, I coincidentally have that Saturday off.

*resolves to get bike in running order by next weekend*
