  1. Hey Deebs?

Best thing to make 'weird' mixes of soda acceptable/fashionable is... wait for it... wait for it...!

    ... adding vodka.
  2. SciFi has become "the channel where good shows go to die painful deaths".

... but I'm glad the old KR episodes are being shown on Sleuth.

... anyone want to do a remake/reimagining of Greatest American Hero? Pretty please? I know we probably can't get Robert Culp in it, which is a shame, but...
  3. TanDream is GREAT for instrumental themes, huge catalog (if a bit new-age-y during the last few years).

For example... this is how I would score Manticore and Sister Psyche's "downtime". The track is the "beach" credits scene from the Micheal Mann film "Thief" which starred James Caan, also scored by Tangerine Dream.
  4. The billboards aren't server-specific, no.
  5. ... I'm SO not going there. No no no.

I went with the Tunguska track for Posi because of all the speculation on an "atomic" explosion causing the damage (and Posi is radiation-powered), as well as Luminary being more space-oriented for the Apollo track.

The other tracks tend to conform to the character 'themes', although it was a tossup as to who would get the Sirius track, BaB or Manticore.

    i15 could be you.

    *cue dramatic ominous music*

Oh noooes.... it could be ... ME!!

    *insert record scratch noise*

If Posi WANTED to chase off the game population, say, to a certain superhero-themed MMO currently in beta testing that I cannot confirm or deny having experience playing, he'd probably do something a LOT WORSE.

Yanno, like, say, yank the MA right back out, nerf level pacting, put timers on every instance mission, and double the effects of ED and the GDN. All in the same week.

Oh, and make all the zones free-for-all PvP. That'd definitely chase folks off, there.

How's that for dramatic baseless extrapolation? Was it too over the top? cos I can never tell....

Looks to me like you couldn't just 'roll up' a meow without considerable forethought.

Which takes the "I didn't know it could be used for farming!!!" argument, wads it up, and tosses it in the oubliette. Exploit city, this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh horsepucky, unless you mean specifically the exact mission described above.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The exact mission, yes.

    * It had a specific known-to-be-high-xp target mob.
    * it was set to a known-to-be-high-xp LEVEL. One object was placed to force everyone to auto-sk to the optimum level.
    * The 'allies' were specifically constructed to provide defense even when set to Passive (so no diminishing returns on XP or tickets), and their benefits would also stack as you 'rescued' more of them. This makes the mobs less and less likely to be dangerous.
    * the map was HUGE and had an insane number of spawn points.

At first glance, it looks 'random' but I don't think you could just throw something like this together, you had to think about what you were building.

Thus, "I didn't know my mission was being farmed!" is, using your term, horsepucky.

    An Idiot Moment

...this is why I have identical keyboards both on the other computer in the house, AND on my docking station at work. In a pinch... I can 'borrow' one of them until I can get to Fry's and replace the one that gets broken.
  10. ... is that how it works?

And all this time I thought it was for ignoring someone who had thus far contributed nothing worth reading or responding to.

Shows how much I know, doesn't it?
  11. ... whipped corpses, at that.

    Yeeeeah.
  12. The ONLY thing I can think of that would possibly cause that is if you weren't logged into DA (cos then they serve ads to you). But DA's ads are mostly DA-related, if recollection serves, and they're very low-key about them, no pop-ups.

It's probably something on your system that is triggering off a keyword or something. Get it scanned, get it cleaned.

Whereas my niche is as follows.

In the real world my luck with women is nothing short of dire. I get cheated on, treated like crap and shot down on a regular basis.

    However...

I have been told I am one of the best sources of relationship advice anyone knows of and have solved more problems than professionals have with some of these people.

    Seriously.....Whiskey Tango Foxtrot eh?

    Yep. Pretty much.

  19. ... anything I could say at this point has already been stated, protested against, backed up with dissertations, and summarily dismissed as a breach of the ethics and morality all Mankind should subscribe to, but obviously doesn't.

I'm really glad y'all aren't the ones judging MY deviancy. Bad enough I now have to stifle my annoyance at some of the replies and NOT attach feelings of irritation to the utterers thereof... cos aside from ... this mess... y'all are cool people.

As for the OP... I'm sorry, Psi, but PDA (Player Displays of Affection) while on a team can and will piss some team leaders off... regardless of what the player's partner preferences are. Yes, it was wrong for the team lead to gay-bash. It was also wrong of you to trot the experience out for the rest of us to weigh in on.

I'm one of those people who, as long as everything is between consenting adults*, is perfectly happy to accept nearly every kinky practice out there. Just don't parade them all around and say "Accept me, I'm [X]!" Just, get a room, have fun, giggle amongst yourselves after.

    ----------------------------
    * And no, children, animals, and dead people are not 'consenting adults'. Nor are third parties that would prefer your fun not interrupt their breakfast, commute, or golf game.
  20. I don't think the phrase is "Street sweepers jacked my GAME!" but the more dismissive "LOL@streetsweeping".

The first is a complaint. The second is an amused dismissal.

Sadly we DO get those from other groups in regards to each other's preferred activities.
  21. ... I could see ads for MA arcs, like we see movie billboards everywhere...

... then again, no, bad idea.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
But apparently street sweeping is frowned upon, not because it's not farming, but that it's "inefficient" farming, or something...

[/ QUOTE ] I just find it boring for the most part. I feel that way about your standard office or cave mission too. I much prefer content like Faultline, Striga, Croatoa, RWZ, etc compared to the rest of the stuff because of the sometimes unique environments and the generally better writing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm in agreement there. Some zones are better than others.

But, that just means we have to get a "Fill Up War Witch's Inbox" campaign going to have her and her team revamp the existing zones.
