  1. OK, let's see.. would the Foo care to take a shot at Mistress Ohm? Please?
  2. Soul Train would be makin' sure Violet didn't play JUST 80's... she'd show up with a lot of R&B. And then she'd dance along the hoochie mamas, show folks how it's done... nothing like a sexy black woman in an afro and bell-bottoms to get a party goin'.

Mistress Ohm would probably not show up. BBQ's aren't quite her kind of party.

Betty Highside would be riding wheelies up and down the street until the cops came. Then she'd hide the bike in the neighbor's garage and act cute.

La Diablesse would be acting all coy and sweet, but still manage to get something naughty going on in the guest bedroom. Yeah... THAT kind of girl.

Torch Juggler would probably contribute to the grill blowing up... but then she'd make it look like the whole thing was staged as an elaborate stunt anyway.

"Baroness" Samedi Bautiste would be doin' tarot card readin's in the livin' room, in her top hat, black dress with the bone decorations, and white greasepaint. Nothin' like a Haitian voodoo priestess to make things fun there.

Lucy de Loccia would have to see how comfortable she was around everyone (with two bots as bodyguards, although they'd be doubling as food servers AND parking people's cars), but eventually she'd relax, strip down to a bikini, and then freak everyone out by literally taking her cybernetic legs off before doing backstroke laps in the pool.

And Feral Tigress would be chasing the imp around, terrorizing the dogs, and then she and Rowr would either get into a hissing contest, or Feral'd start abentmindedly trying to give her a kitty bath. Not sure how Rowr feels about other cats, you see. Tigress is pretty affectionate once she figures out who's who.
  3. Indeed! And Juggy made her look stunning.

I... like my nuts. But I'm not sharing them (besides, my wife likes them too, and she called dibs back in April.)

I tried that. It works for short demos. There's a practical limit of about 3 minutes per 'clip' at 30FPS... beyond that, Movie Maker will crash (this is on a 2Ghz Pentium dual-core with 3GB of ram to play with). Larger resolution stills will reduce the amount that can be encoded. Quicktime works a LITTLE better... but it's still pretty finicky with large amounts of stills. Which means you have to have a lot of patience.
  6. the trick isn't coming up with the right words to request a sketch from Foo The Mostly Almighty...

    it's deciding WHICH CHARACTER..... arrgh!

I'll get back to you on that....

well, I looked at the price for Poser and had to be given CPR.

Does anyone know if you can do multiple figures in Daz?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Poser 5 was available as a FREEBIE a li'l while back. Either content paradise or curious labs was offering it up.

And you should be able to bring multiple figures into DAZ, they're just objects.

Yeah those came about when recording the demo playback with FRAPS. I specified 30, and it'd drop to 15 when it was recording.

I haven't got the hang of assembling stills (no Premiere! all I have is Windows Movie Maker and Quicktime Pro) so I'm relying on FRAPS to do the encoding to AVI... once it's in that I can work with it.

Also, I need to actually get in and edit the demo files a bit, figure out how to encode smooth camera pans. I can do it in Bryce (keyframes) and in POV (clock variables and a lot of cartesian algebra) but.... damnit it's NOTEPAD!!

(goes back to reading Zloth's demo guides)

I thought about that... but there's two things keeping me from doing a City of Villains travelogue.

One, I don't have any chars high enough to survive all the zones (my stalker maybe, but she uses superjump so the camera pan shots would be tricky.)

and two, this is in response to a "theme music for zones" post on Virtue. I was trying to think of how I could show Port Oakes in this gritty downtrodden way to match the music.

As for the random shots... yeah. I need to storyboard it a bit better. I may redo it, intersperse ground-level scenes with the top-down 'flyover'...

    hey thanks TA!

Yanno... I might not be an artist... but if you send me a demorecord of TA or AoT, I might be able to put them into the vids as cameos... *wink wink, nudge nudge*

  15. OK, long as we're critiquing vids....

This is a Port Oakes flyby, recorded via Fraps full version, then clips dropped into Windows Movie Maker. Did a lot of fade cuts, but I admit my camera movement is jerky (yeah I'm using the raw demo, not going in to edit it, Zloth can whap me about the head and shoulders and then explain patiently how to do SMOOTH camera zooms and pans by tweaking numbers...)

And, I tried not to use something that was on Pop-40 as soundtrack.

Uploaded this at around noon today.

Had a demo all recorded for Kings Row... but it won't play back. Also DemoEdit errors out when I try and load it for editing. So there's definitely something screwy about demorecords made in certain zones. I'll edit it in Notepad just to make sure there's nothing obviously wacky.

    Poser questions

I have the victoria 3 model (was a content paradise freebie). Still not getting her eyelashes or eyebrows to render for some odd reason.
  18. Soul Train

    Poser questions

You can bring more than one model into Poser. In fact, a lot of the clothing and accessories add-ons (the 'conforming' ones especially) are figures themselves.

When you select the second figure, don't double-click it. This put it in in place of your human figure. Instead, select the check icon at the bottom of the library, that ADDS the new figure to the scene. Select it, pose it, etc. If it's clothing, you can make it conform to other figures in the scene by selecting Edit and then "Conform To..."

I'm still trying to work on getting eyebrows and eyelashes to render, BTW.

  19. Hey, if you want a challenge, Soul's always available.

link in siggy has Poison's take on her.

GIMP is indeed free, and available for pretty much whatever OS you happen to have (it was originally developed for Unix/Linux, yes?). It's also very very powerful, once you get used to the interface.
