  1. Personally, I'm hoping for an extension to the event too. I've been back at home this Christmas and that means I'm not on my usual pc - this pc had its graphics card break on me so I've not been able to basically do anything interactive on it so I've had 1 day with the event and that's it!
  2. I always felt a bit strange taking tough and weave on a blaster but I can see why you are doing it. Is bonfire better than Melt Armor as a lvl47 power choice, or not? Also, would the cold mastery power pool be better than fire?
  3. Hey everyone... I'm gonna let you all in the blaster section know that I'm a scrapper at heart but I like to try my hand at all AT's. I mainly like to PVE in teams and I've tried many times to respec my fire/elec blaster to be the best and most damaging blaster that I can make it while still being survivable, but I've never succeeded to the same level that I have my other characters. Having said that I do know HOW to play the blaster AT it's just the execution in the build that has troubled me.

So, without further ado, I need you true blue blasters to advise me on a build to respec to. I want it to be incarnate slotted and my first thoughts are that it should be slotted with musculature, but I'm open to suggestions. In my opinion blasters are all about the damage so I need it to be as damaging but yet survivable as possible (a dead blaster does no good for a team).

I need the character ready and respecced to lead a Hami Ranged team on Friday night this week, so the IO's I'm looking to slot the character up with should be readily available and the build should have a max slotting price at say 4-500M. I also don't have access to the vill. patron pools and won't be able to get access to them in time (it's a hero hami raid).

BTW: I've got the vet reward that means I can take the later powers in a power pool set without needing the earlier ones ... e.g. I can take fly at lvl 6 without needing hover, if that affects how you build the character.

    Help?
  4. Well I don't know if you'd class this as good news but I won't be able to attend the Saturday hami raid but i should be able to attend the Friday one!

You know my characters and I should be free to lead a team should you need it, Arete.
  5. Final build up for tweaking:

I've reworked the defense and built it more specifically for the Spiritual (+rech and +heal) alpha slot with the help of my friend DSorrow.

At this point I'm not sure whether to go for higher passive defense with conserve power, or lower passive defense but use Shadow Meld to boost in difficult situations...
  6. Updated my last post with a revised build. I added in more defense, trading in a purple Armageddon set in Death Shroud while gaining back more defense by 3 slotting BotZ in SS. I played around with the uniques in Health and Physical Perfection and reslotted touch of fear to be -tohit (has better bonuses). Do you reckon the extra HP from Dark Watcher's Despair in Touch of Fear is worth it or what's the best way to slot it with limited slots?
  7. I'm up for this - you have my details in game make sure you contact me over any leaders you need nearer the time!

    |-------------------------------------------------------------------|
  9. Well issue 19 has released and here I am scrambling to put on paper a build I've wanted to make all throughout my City of Heroes career. This is designed to be the ultimate Dark Dark Scrapper. Second to none. Big big words I know but if this isn't the reality at least that's how the build should FEEL when playing it.

I've always build to maximise every aspect of the character but now we've got the incarnate system to consider I've built my scrapper to deal the same damage as normal (if not more) but to have high passive defense. Using Shadow Meld I can increase my defense even more. I've been the only character on Union I know of to have 121.5 end (max in game) with no end problems on a D3 scrapper, but not taking Dark Consumption. So it's a big sacrifice to respec Dark Consumption back into the build, but I'm willing to do it if it means I can fully advance the character in other areas.

This is a PVE character primarily, and as such I'm trying to squeeze every ounce of performance I can. Money is no object here as I am going to be taking my time to actually slot this build in.

So, here is the build I have cooked up at the moment:

I have reservations about the damage output and although I love the idea of having high resistances and high defense too, will having to click Shadow Meld every 30 seconds (or less) be too irritating?

I've never taken Soul Transfer before because I didn't think it was wise to build a character planning to die... but with the extra space issue 19 has afforded me I wasn't sure what else to take.

The other concern I have is that this build was made with the Recharge Alpha Slot (Spiritual) in mind, but is there a better slot to build for?

I hope this makes sense. Please look over the build and advise me guys!
  10. Lol I've never been shouted out before! UTF runs one every Weds @8pm GMT so there's plenty more to come! Besides: how else will we give people opportunity to get the HVAS for Cathedral of Pain, as well as some nice Incarnate Shards if we don't get nasty with the Rikti?

    More to come.
  11. Well now the patch is upon us, I just need to take some time to get to grips with Incarnates and I can get started on Rike
  12. Yeah we managed to complete the Red AV on both Blue and Red sides. I do think the purple would have been more than doable tonight!

I gotta thank Starscreamer for letting us use his Ultimate Darkness SG redside, it's big but purdy and it got the job done!
  13. Well I've seen this question asked around a lot recently so I thought I'd pose it to Union: who will you alpha out first?

Personally I'll be alphaing (and respeccing) my main and first character, Rike (Dark Dark scrapper) but I'll need some time to choose which way to go with the slot on this and my PB (Soul Storm) first. But with my PB I won't bother respeccing out of fitness at the moment. Again I'm not sure which way to go with the alpha slot here. So many choices!

    Discuss.
  14. From the consumer perspective 6 hours is a long time to wait in the middle of the day, but it should also mean the servers are back up for EU prime time so its compromise.

IT really does seem a little weird to me that they're bringing back NCSoft EU and then moving everything away from them. Sure they might be marketing but with the amount of marketing we see for CoH anywhere this just means its one less thing for them to do while they play hopscotch in the playground...
  15. Honestly I have no idea if that stuff about Doc Aeon Arc is made up or not so I dont know whether to put it in the OP
  16. Well I've been searching throughout the boards and I just can't find anywhere that people at the California Meet and Greet are posting information so I thought I'd post a topic about it so we can make any news or information those there can squeeze out of the devs.

I'll update this post with the latest news we find out:
    • They love our rampant speculation, but it's way more than they could ever possibly do.
    • i19 due for release around November 16th, but if it's not out by then it will be released AFTER Thanksgiving week.
    • Something new for the winter by the name of Lady Winter.
    • A new Warehouse tile set.
    • Concept art for Mother Mother Mercy's hospital was shown. It's going to go...somewhere.
    • i19 will have 2 free respecs, one at launch and another a week later
    • They can't talk about crossfire support yet.
    • Praetoria is expanding.
    • The I20 pre-beta stuff was pretty vague. Part of the testing was apparently an attack on the Behavioral Adjustment Facility (BAF) designed for 12 to 24 players.
    • City Vault is dead.
    • The Incarnate system is meant to give players a new challenge as you climb the ladder. Strategy and tactics in a group is important. "Some powers that may have been overlooked/little used in the past may have new viability."
    • New Community created arc involving Dr. Aeon, fashion shows, Luddites and enchanted fingercuffs.
    • Power pool and APP power customisation - on some form of burner.
  17. Lady Arete suggested a good tactics - make sure there's at least 1 (preferably 2) blasters per team then when the tank has secured agro, each blaster nukes. It will clean up the mobs a lot quicker than single target killing. I think melee chars should only go into melee if they have a lot of acc insps.

Also what few HVAS there were yesterday, it seemed that they just wanted to stand there and not do anything at all.

In order to guarantee everyone has a HVAS I suggest that we meet in Pocket D, form the teams and then go and do a mini raid ourselves. That way everyone on the teams will have the merits for a HVAS before we start.
  18. Well we tried again but but a purple AV again. We just couldn't clear in time and there wasn't enough -regen to keep his health low enough. So demoralising.
