Thats a good idea about the Mu pool, I hadn't even considered that. As for the mace mastery, I will have to wait on that till after the alpha slot and see how much the end red slot does for my end issues. As for the procs, Since I have a slight alititus, I like to hop between characters so I do my tip missions real quick and then switch. Im just gunna let the points built up for those two procs. Thanks for the info and the input. I would like to softcap S/L with the shield cause going for ranged I feel like I would give up too much. Have to wait for I19 for that XD Thanks again for the advice.

Hey all, after playing for some time I am thinking about dusting my favorite end hog, my Sonic/Dark defender. This is meant to be one of my tank mages so keep that in mind with this build. I tried to build for Def and Res and support it with AoE -ToHit. So, here is the build below, do you see any must have powers that are missing or would you slot something like say Liquefy differently?

Anyhow, any input is appreciated. -
Well you see I have been working on my Elec/Ice dom and I have a build currently that gets him up to permadom status and 35% S/L and in the build it includes Power Boost. Now however, after working a bit more I have a second build which uses some purples but also allows him to achieve 45% S/L as well as Perma-Hasten, Perma-Dom Status with some comfort room for permadom. Now, the main question I have, with this new level of protection and the inclusion of Aid Self in my build I am curious if I should do one of three things with my last power slot:
1. Use Power Boost with a recharge IO
2. Use Horafrost with a recharge IO
3. Use Hibernate with a recharge IO
4. A travel power (either SS or SJ)
Don't get me wrong, I love using my Power Boost. Its just when I remember to use it, I even have it Key-Binded atm but, like most powers similar to it, I always forget to use it. Should I consider replacing it or do I just need to give it time? -
See, I was of the understanding that Screech>Scream>Shriek>Scream>Shriek>Scream was a better overall attack chain. Now, also note the last Shriek>Scream is filler for Screech to come up so you can use that time to debuff/heal as needed. That way when you get to the second Scream you have a -60% Resistance Debuff.
Shriek
-Res Duration - 5s
-Animation Duration - 1s
Scream
-Res Duration - 7s
-Animation - 1.67s
Screech
-Res Duration -12s
-Animation - 1.5s
The total animation times are 4.17 seconds so its enough to keep it going nearly permanently. Not enough without more recharge to do just the first 4. My character (and Emp/Sonic) has about 181% recharge rate atm which brings Screech down to 5.388 (about 4.9 or less after I can get my alpha slot fully done) seconds recharge. Now howl and shout will slow that down I do agree. However if I'm looking at this correctly you should be able to do this chain just fine. If I'm wrong let me know why -
PvP is entirely do able on an Empath. I remember going into RV a few months back and just having a blast. A few guildies decided to attack the turrets that day and well, one member led to another. Anyhow, long story short we kept having a Stalker grief us but after I learned some of his tricks I was was able to give him just as much back, even when he brought his brute buddy in. Here are some of the things that helped me:
Inspirations : Trust me, they are using em too. Even with HA you still want to have a few greens on you for oh snap moments, purples are a great boon as well. I forget how break frees work with DR
Movement: Stalkers have to be able to plant that AS on you to make you and easy kill, heck, most Melee toons who wish to destroy you need to be close enough. Use your secondary to your advantage, jump and blast so you don't plan and loose your momentum.
Mez: Smoke'm if you got'm
Know: Knowing that your a target can be used to your advantage. Use this to route the enemy near your team. Remember, buffing and jumping works too.
Temp Powers: There are a great deal of temp powers that will help you. Anything that adds +def is always nice, heck even wedding band is helpful. I found the jetpack particularly useful since I have super speed. Made pursuit easier.
Have Fun: Remember, doing stupid and wild things are fun and sometimes they really pay off.
That's all I have to say on that, I hope some of it helps. I'm sure I said something useful somewhere in there XD -
First of all Seldom... your avatar is creeping right the ---- out dude!
Secondly, yea, I almost forgot about all those benefits too. I see what you mean and thanks for correcting my flawing thinking of synaptic overload by the way. Seems like overall it still worth it (if only for the mez protection and end fills between mobs)
Thanks for the advice dude -
Now, I have seen with my own eyes the crazy effectiveness of a perma-dom (a Mind/Mind to be precise) but my question is how effective is an Elec-Dom that is perma outside of being able to ST hold an AV? I mean, thats still pretty nasty but I was curious. Do we have any forum-goers that have done so? Would it be better to build up on my +Def and +Dmg or shoul I still shoot for the PermaDom status? Also, since I have yet to enter OB and I will prolly wait for the live patch can anyone tell me the effects of the Alpha Slot on a dom? Anyone know if the rechange one affects domination?
-
I know its not released yet I was just hoping to help out for people wanting to mess with there builds. Also, I didn't know there was a way out anyhow, I had this vid up for a while but like a derp I managed to put it on private XD Anyhow, I just thought being able to slot it along with taking your new powers would be nice, does the other way allow that?
-
Ok, I had this for a bit and I was hoping an official patch to mids to include inherent fitness but I think they are still working on it. Anyhow, here is a small video of how to edit Mids to in it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn9R37Ede_4
The only downside of it is that if you are a kheldian it kinda covers up some up the the dwarf form powers. If thats the case, and you don't want it to do so you should be able to cover up the the brawl column by changing the Sub-Power Include flag to 0 instead of 10 for swift and work your way up from there.
Now, that should let you go play and fully slot stamina to your hearts content.
(P.S. If you have any questions please post them here.) -
-
My guess on that level shift would be that it would allow us to have a level without actually being that level. That way when you fight say 54 and your say 52 (even if those 2 levels are imaginary) you do more because the game doesn't automatically scale down your powers because of the level difference. If that's the cause I wonder if it will only work when your doing incarnate level stuff? Would be interesting to walk around peregrine seeing the 50's being grayed out XD
That's just a guess though. If they are actual physical levels that should be interesting indeed.
Either way is purely speculation... just have to wait and see. -
Yup and yup... I misunderstood XD Now looking at all the alpha slots I have trouble deciding if I want Spiritual - Core Paragon/Radial Paragon or Nerve - Core Paragon for my main. Can't wait to get into Issue 19!
-
My question is if he is a random player character then why does he have the Purple Triangles of Doom o.0? Could that mean that we could enjoy the benefits of the PToD!
-
Well you could set up a various amount of binds that makes one key cycle through your entire team. The only bad part is you would have to press the button each time and if you pressed it before the buff was cast it would skip a person. If you want that then you could always use this:
Code:of course this is a little drawn out and assumes you have a folder on your c drive named kinbinds with the associated files in there. Other then that you could set up a pop menu that does speed boost and you would only have to click the macro and then which slot you were targeting. This saves you from having to target the next team mate by clicking on them.speedboost1.txt: \ "teamselect 1$$powexec_name Speed Boost$$bind_load_file c:\kinbinds\speedboost2.txt" speedboost2.txt: \ "teamselect 2$$powexec_name Speed Boost$$bind_load_file c:\kinbinds\speedboost3.txt" speedboost3.txt: \ "teamselect 3$$powexec_name Speed Boost$$bind_load_file c:\kinbinds\speedboost4.txt" speedboost4.txt: \ "teamselect 4$$powexec_name Speed Boost$$bind_load_file c:\kinbinds\speedboost5.txt" speedboost5.txt: \ "teamselect 5$$powexec_name Speed Boost$$bind_load_file c:\kinbinds\speedboost6.txt" speedboost6.txt: \ "teamselect 6$$powexec_name Speed Boost$$bind_load_file c:\kinbinds\speedboost7.txt" speedboost7.txt: \ "teamselect 7$$powexec_name Speed Boost$$bind_load_file c:\kinbinds\speedboost8.txt" speedboost8.txt: \ "teamselect 8$$powexec_name Speed Boost$$bind_load_file c:\kinbinds\speedboost1.txt"

Hey guys, Im still trying to find the dom for me and I have recently started a Mind/Thorn. So far so good but only level 2. I was curious, for those of you who have or have played with a Mind/Thorn. What did you think of it? How was your level progress and when did you finally get the feeling omgwtfhaxbbq?
-
Quote:Yea, but don't forget that with Performance Shifter: Chance for +Endurance proc in it it now becomes an auto power that not only raises your endurance but replenishes as well.I mean, 20% chance to get +10% of what your current endurance is just seems awesome to me (roughly 11 points when you have the accolades)Yeah, physical perfection provides exactly half the values of stamina and health combined, and superior conditioning is just an endurance boost of 5 points.
-
Yea but its nice to have it grayed out so that you don't waste a costume change without the effect.
-
Fleeting Whisper, has anyone told you how epic you are... just thought I'd let you know. Thanks for the list of badges you had there. That will help out a ton when I make later quick chat edits and pop menu edits.
Edit:
Also, how in heck did you find all those I must ask? -
Quote:Okies, will do. If I find out I'll post it here. I'm using it for my pop menu for CC Emotes. So far I have it letting you choose any of your costume slots then any of the emotes. It locks the known ones but the PB, WS, and Vigil where the only ones it couldn't. I even have it so it clears your previous emote then does the costume change to make sure you don't waste your chance. All the authbits we know about are listed in the OP.
The game file has a section for costume changes, but it's not enabled and it doesn't include the Vigil cc emote. See here for a cleaned up version of the current game file.
Based on the Snowflake unlock, try SigilEmoteBadge or VanguardSigilEmoteBadge.
Edit:
Just a note, I have tried
Authbit SigilEmote Authbit VangSigilEmote, Authbit VanguardSigilEmoteBadge, and Authbit SigilEmoteBadge
as well as
Badge VanguardSigilEmoteBadge and Badge SigilEmoteBadge
so far no good but I will keep typing away! -
Oh sure, its actually easy. When you go to save it change the box to the right that says .txt to All Files. Then when your naming your file just put .mnu after the file name.
-
Heres one for costume changes that I'm using and I wanted to share. It allows you to use any costume change emote for any costume slot with one button.
The files listed below in this order are:
CostumeChange.mnu
1CostumeChange.mnu
2CostumeChange.mnu
3CostumeChange.mnu
4CostumeChange.mnu
5CostumeChange.mnu
Obviously for this to work they need to keep those same names.

I find it helps to bind it to a macro. I personally use:
/macro CC "popmenu CostumeChange" -
Thanks VooDoo but what I was meaning was what is the command that goes along with LockedOption{} to verify if the player has purchased Vanguard Sigil.
-
Does anyone know what the Vanguard Sigil is locked by? I was working on a set of Costume Change menus and thats the only one I couldn't think of how it was locked. Im trying to set it so that it locks all of the costume change emotes that you don't have access too. For that matter is there one to lock based on your Archetype?
