i was thinking about this the other day and decided to try something in mids using 5 sets of air burst for the 2 slot bonus to knockback powers(lol) and 6 slotting for kb in said powers. the result in mids before DR is 53.1. if you do the same (silly)process with a controller's force bolt you get up to 59.8. now, noone in their right mind would build a pvp character around this because its retarded beyond belief but it should answer your question somewhat.
if you were asking what is the maximum kb protection you can have in the game i would answer either go with something that has kb resistance or build a */cold/ice controller and slot all your armors with multiple steadfast/karma -kb IOs and take all travel powers so you can cram in 5 blessing of the zephyrs. realistically you only need something like 32+acrobatics to resist a well slotted blaster or dominator. -
anyone know if powerboost buffs soothing aura for its duration?

also, dont you think its worth it to put some stun into cosmic burst since you have powerboost too? considering that you are a paindom and will want to attack less often. imo this is one situation that purples might be worth the price difference, maybe go without the damage proc and 1 less devas and use a couple absolute amazements to help set up targets. -
before i13 i transferred my sonic defender to freedom... im just glad i muled some inf and loot on it or it would have been a total loss.

my vote goes to sonic/dev. its not hard to get around the rooting vulnerability with a well placed caltrops(tbh i prefer sonic's rootings to psi's, but thats preference). also, any SO build can chain shriek and scream indefinately with hasten. ive gotten kills just using those 2 from decent range while my target is webbed.
just remember, if youre just building for sirens and dont intend to level to 50 you cant slot the placate proc in will domination anyway. -

/energy assault's power push is covered by 32+acro
all im saying is if anyone loses to a defender theyve got bigger problems in their build than kb protection. -

and 32+acro is all you usually need for toons w/o kb resistance. anything that does more than that will probably not be able to kill you or it would be fotm by now. -
looking to xfer about 1/2bill infamy so i can quickly build a blaster i had lying around. i'm looking to get about 600m influence for my 500m infamy taking into account 1:1.2 ratio. does this sound good to anyone?
i prefer to do this transaction sometime tonight between 6-7pm edt.

shield/ss or elec melee is probably the most common pve set since it came out yet ive seen about 3 decent pvp built ones. i admit i have one but just as a fallback for if i ever get brain damaged and cant play my squishies anymore.

unless you farm alot i recommend just slotting a centriole and filler instead of those pvpios, but thats all preference. i havent farmed since the last double xp.
i would put 2 more perf. shifters into stamina and try to squeeze in 1-2 ribos into frozen armor to cap fire resistance since the defense is so weak.
there is no reason to slot ss and sj with more than 2 zephyrs since noone needs aoe defense in pvp and since frozen armor is typed defense, not positional to stack with. also, in zones you get so supressed that slotting for speed doesnt really matter.
oh yea, hurdle>swift unless you fly or something. -
it really is worth it to come to freedom. i think alot of people fret about the $10 mostly on principle, but if you actually enjoy pvp with more than the same 5-10 people most servers can accomodate freedom is the place to be.
ps: bring a support/debuff toon over and people will love you. -
you simultaneously say you dont want a good build because you arent elitist and that you want to beat all the noobs. you'll fit right in freedom sirens call.. just remember hotdog stand is base and respect the fiteklub.

assuming zone pvp..
fly is never enough alone, especially without decent ranged attacks. you will either need speed or maybe teleport for in case you get grounded(and you will get grounded, often). lose medicine and cobra strike and pick up an additional travel set and one of the better patron powers(soul/leviathin). -
looks solid, i'm gonna find a way to steal this build and make it cheaper some day :P
ime, you only need -32 mag kb+acro to survive fully slotted power push/thrust, torrent, and levitate(the most common kbs). the next stage after that(force bolt etc..), i think, you need like 45+acro but thats off of memory.
ive noticed you like to slot steath ios in actual travel powers but never understood why. dont you run sprint anyway for the little extra bit of movement? i'd put that slot into stamina/tactics for the 5th slot goodness they have. -
this was all i cared about. and as to the walk power, just be glad they didnt make you pay for it in some natural origins bonus pack..

but yea i agree pain>emp because it gets a +res power on top of a regen aura but therms are still pretty good for when you need to shut down the opposing teams healer(HE) or if they dont have one to cripple their weakest end management toon.
my absolute favorite trio back in the day was a kin/therm/cold trio but thats pointless in this system.
