Sign me up for the spike team, please, if there's still room. Or is this a first come, first serve basis? Either way, I'll be there w/ my stalker.

I've gotten more feedback than i expected on this thread, all of which has been very useful.
Let me be more specific: I have a lvl 50 MA/Nin stalker. Admittedly, I would have chosen a different primary, but this was my very first toon, and I'm doing the best w/ what i've got. The only power I have from any of the travel power pools is recall. I've noticed, especially when playing alongside other stalkers, that I lack the skills to dish out as much damage as my elec/ or EM/ counterparts, hence my idea of a medical stalker. The stuns are nice from my cobra strike and eagle's claw, but on bosses and up I have to stack them to get the desired effect.
On a slightly unrelated note, is there a reason my stalker can't hold the aggro from a mob? Not that I'm complaining, as it's the main reason I seem to survive team wipes, once again giving rise to the medic idea. I was just wondering if there was a technical reason for it. Thanks, again, for all the input. -
hmmm, good points, all. I think i'll try it on my second build, as I hadn't decided what to do w/ it. I'm using ninja run as my travel power anyway, so I've got a little more room in my builld than ur average stalker. I can think of a few powers i could live w/o anyway, so it shouldn't be that hard to work in. I'll phone in the results, thanks for the input.

So I was on ITF last night w/ my stalker, and found myself the sole survivor of several team wipes, which got me to thinking. It would be nice to not only be able to TP my fallen comrades to a safe non-mob aggro'ing distance, but to be able to rez them/keep them alive. I haven't looked into the medicine power pool specs yet, but i was wondering if this had occured to anyone else, or if it's already been attempted.
I would love to hear any/everyone's thoughts on the subject. -

Quote:I can handle Pocket D, w/ some lag, and should give freedom another shot since my first attempt was short lived. I'll phone in the results.Well, I'd say if you can handle Pocket D at all to try this:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=204979
But I certainly don't wantcha to have a seizure!!! If ya'z ever upgrade, let me know and I'll show you our special little slice of Freedom red.
I was just talking out of the side of my neck about the seizure. Guess i shouldn't joke about such things...
Anyway, thanks for all the helpful info, and I didn't mean to derail the topic at hand here. -
Quote:Aye, because after switching to playing Freedom redside, I can tell you, their PvP zones are ALWAYS active. Always.
Well, looks like I'll have to forgo the PvP experience, cause freedom on my PC is a lag-tastic skip fest. I'd rather not play, than risk an epileptic seizure at the flashing, skipping scrrens i get on freedom, lol. thanks for the info, though. If i ever upgrade my system, i'll give it a shot. thanks, again.

Since there seems to be NO interest in PvP here on protector, where does one go for such a thing? And if you say freedom, I will drive to your house and smash your PC w/ a hammer.
Jokes aside, I would love to know where/if PvP occurs on a semi-regular basis, and wouldn't be opposed to helping here on protector if there was enough interest to warrant the aforementioned help. One does get tired of laying waste to the same NPC's over and over again, and wouldn't mind getting my bell rung by something w/ an actual pulse, for a change. -
Quote:Agreed, but I wouldn't be opposed to the idea of a 2X merit event. Trying to get onto a SF that doesn't disintegrate after the second mish has become problematic for me lately. Maybe this would motivate players to see a SF through, then again, maybe not. The only way to know for sure is to try it.I just think they need to balance the normal set pieces much lower than the procs.
Procs are fine, but everything else needs to be, like, half the cost it is now. And standard IOs? Those should be, like 3, not 12. -
I'd be up for a WL hunt, just say when (any time after 4 PM EST), and i'm in. If you haven't done so, already.

I've been playing Oblivion like a jukie who just found a thousand dollars on the ground, lately. Bought it a year ago and just got into it.
Aside from CoV and Oblivion, i've been revisiting Mass Effect in anticipation for ME2, coming out later next month. I heard a nice little rumor that your character from the first carries over to the second. Any truth to that? Suppose i could just troll the net for confirmation.

i'll definately be there again. picked up a wealth of info in a very short time.
thanks to everyone who answered my seemingly left-field questions.
-
i will, but will gladly give up the mantle to a more qualified player, if such a player want's to step up.
i've only run this one once before. just let me know if u need me to and i will refresh my memory before we start.
-
If i could mix two AT's together, it would be ss/inv brute and martail arts/ninjitsu stalker. if i was forced to pick one, though, i would go w/ the latter over the former. something about being invisable is just WAY too cool to pass up.

Quote:is this how u got transparent/smaller windows on ur game screen? and how does one take screen-shots? could anyone tell me if there is someplace specific to get info on screen-shots? have i exceeded my daily allowance of questions, yet?I am using this program http://www.net-marks.com/software/tweakcoh
It allows you to play with your options while off line, but it does not change any game files. -

just to name a few that come readily to mind. -
Quote:i don't have anything pertinent to add to the general flow of this thread, but i had to comment on the above quote. Thank You.
We just adopted a 5 year old beagle from a rescue foundation so she's taking a bit of my time right now. It's not everyone who would adopt a 5 yr old dog. They're called "man's best friend" for a reason, and i thank u again for saving one of them.

Quote:I disagree. I think it only sounds too complicated. We're not talking about Quantum Phisics, here.Sounds pretty good, Stale. However, I'm a bit concerned that we might be over-complicating things. I think there is a large portion of new players that would be happy to have folks available to help them, but will shy away from anything that is too formal or complex.
Why not simplify things, and stick to having a mentor/student SG available for those that want to go that route, along with a global channel? Keep the mentor/student relationship informal. Drop any mention of 'contracts'. This way, students can feel free to access any of the mentors as a resource at any time, when they have questions or need help. All SG/VG have guidelines for just about every situation known to man. I've been inducted into a few SG's where the rules were A LOT more complicated than what's being proposed here. A quote i find applicable: "It's warm under the wing of the dragon." (Gangs of New York) That is to say, most would find a SG w/ no malicious intent preferable to the prestige factories i run into time and time again. Not to mention a SG where promotion is undoubtedly easier to achieve is a far cry from most i've seen, where nothing short of a firstborn blood sacrifice is required. But this is not to say i don't see your point, and in response i say the solution is easy: let the newbie decide for themselves what route to take. Be it SG/VG, or a loose 'ask-a-question-get-an-answer" type relationship. The latter would also free up a mentor for newbies who would opt for the former.

Like it or not, people LOVE pomp and circumstance. Why do u think there are words in the english language to define such actions? Being recognised for one's accomplishment(s) gives most people the warm-and-fuzzies. Not all people, but even money says that an overwhelming majority does. Ever been to an actual graduation ceremony where the grads frown and mope across the stage? Me neither. IMHO, it would improve group solidarity and reenforce the networking aspect i mentioned in my first post.
