Quote:Actually some of those badgers you are disparaging are against the idea too.I think the mistake you're making is assuming people have a "main badger" and that's it. BADGERS have that, maybe, but like other factions of the game, they're not the majority. And this change is entirely for the purpose of badgers and no one else, so /unsigned for being useless to most of the player base and counter to the dev's plan.

Quote:You know those technical difficulties I mentioned? Let me expand on them, directly related to this version of the request.Only way I'd /sign this is if you start at LEVEL 1, with no inf, no higher than lvl 1 temp powers, no IOs, no recipes, no enhancements and no accolades. Only the badges that don't give accolades would you keep.
What you are asking for:
- The developers to add a new flag to the badge database for all badges that now and in the future count towards accolades. This has a chance to corrupt the badge database, and by extension the character databases.
- The developers to spend time filling that new flag in the database.
- Have the game store a copy while it is being re-rolled (aka deleted) and then add badges to the new character based on the stored character.
- Make more work for the GMs when the transfer fails or has a glitch. Only after a certain point the deleted version of the character is gone, and now they have a customer whining that they lost badges.
- This only gets worse when the original poster then includes souvenirs and temp powers.

Eden - Hazard Zone, and would have villains complaining that blue was even more favored than it was.
Perez Park - Hazard Zone, and would have villains complaining that blue was even more favored than it was.
Cimerora - Technically a Hazard Zone and level locked.
the Rwz - Maybe should have gotten an Accolade, but it already had 14 explores, one inside a Raid area.
the Shadow shard - Absolutely no explores, and would have villains complaining that blue was even more favored than it was.
the Hive - It is level locked still, ot only has 2 explore badges (one under a Raid area)
Boomtown - Hazard Zone, and would have villains complaining that blue was even more favored than it was.
Dark Astoria - Hazard Zone, and would have villains complaining that blue was even more favored than it was.
the pvp-zones - Because of the outcry that there are badges in a PVP zone, and they are level locked still.
The main reason for some of the zones not having explore accolades stem from one main fact: blue side has more zones than red side. Until that changes, expect a lot of these zones not to have explore accolades for them. -
Quote:No.Does healing the reactor with the temp. power during a Terra Volta Respec Trial count toward the badge?
It doesn't.
You got it some other way. Healing the reactor has never counted towards the healing badge.
To quote Positron from four years ago:
If anyone knows what should have counted back then, Positron should.Quote:Not supposed to countQuote:[*]Healing the Terra Volta Reactor does not give credit for the healing badges. (This *may* be because the reactor is neither a player character nor a pet, so not an "ally", but since it completely looks like a heal it's odd that it doesn't count.)
Now to the original poster's question:
Amy temp power.
Other NPC pets, including the seer in the Rescue Fortune Teller mission (Spelunker)
Temp healing powers.
Gladiator Matches. -

It is still needed, sadly.Quote:Ok, here is a stop-gap measure for tracking your progress for the Dimensional Warder badge:

Thanks for the laugh. And until I get around to getting my Passport, very true.

Like I said in the other thread, please send a tell to @sayaki and @taryn about this if they are on. I'm sure both would be interested in doing it.

Join your server's badge channel. I know that Triumph Watch has done them in the past, when you had to get 200 of the Toxics. Now that it is 50, it shouldn't be a problem to do 3-5 runs of the first mission. Or if you try to get the Master of Statesman or Master of the 5th Column, I'm sure you will have more than enough tries to get the Toxics before those two.
-
Quote:Street hunting Toxics blue side is the second worst way to do it. The worst is doing solo arachnos missions level 40+.I got it in RWZ as well. Took forever. My route is in purple below. Worked for me. I would get about 1-3 in a loop. Not much I know. Like I said, it took me forever.
The two best ways are the Statesman Task Force, and the 5th Column (Dr. Khan) TF. Statesman being a bit better for it. The first mission in each has a bunch of Toxics in them. -

Quote:I only wish it were a few people with the bad attitude. I have had a few good experiences with the master badges, a couple with (gasp!) PUGs. I've just had much more of the reverse. Most of all, Don't let a few bad attitudes ruin your experience.
I keep trying to tell myself that, but it rarely happens. -
I can honestly say that I wish more people had this attitude.

Quote:No, they don't contradict each other. I was involved in the City Scoop project, and was the longest sitting Editor in Chief for it. My Badge FAQ (which I really have to update soon) is the only player made sticky in this section. I didn't do either to gain anything but helping other players. I challenge you to say the City Scoop wasn't a community builder. As for the Badge FAQ, I'm sure that helped a lot of people over the years. So on the one hand you don't have enough friends to play with so you grab some PUG membersQuote:That is part of the problem. The group I like playing with most of the time is small. We sometimes fill outside the group and then the problems begin.
But on the other hand you helped build the entire "City of" community and yet can't find a full team of players you know personally to get an MO badge.Quote:This statement is laughable considering how much effort I have put into building the entire "City of" community over the years, and trying to help the badge community specifically. While people might disagree with me, I don't think that anyone that has been around a long time thinks that I am not passionate about helping people either with the game or badges.
These 2 points contradict each other entirely, so which is it?
I'm also on at very strange times, considering the server I play on. I'm on the west coast, and I play a server on the east coast (3 hour difference). Why is that? Because that was the server that the real life friend that got me into the game was on. Over the years I've found friends there and have stuck with it.
I've mainly kept to Triumph, and the only times I'm not teaming is when I choose to be solo. Even then, I'll often pitch in, jump on a task force, whatever. Even if it is a master run. This, I feel, has given me a much wider perspective of the master runs than someone that only does them with their group or not at all (as some people posting in this thread admit to).Quote:Or like I try to do for anyone wanting any other badge (exploration guide, most GM hunts, task forces). If I'm not committed to something and on, I'll usually help out.
Even when I hop onto another server, be it Liberty, Virtue, Freedom, or other server, I help out. The only server where I have characters that can do master runs on is Triumph though (all my 50s are there). When I am playing with my close friends, I play with them. When they want to try a master run, I ask for help and usually can complete a team.
I personally don't care what people play, as long as they are having fun. Here is the rub though: On every other type of task force and trial I've been on, people have fun. As soon as it turns into a master run the stress levels fly through the ceiling and people stop having fun. -
I've always thought that the Anniversary badges should, with some other badges be moved to an "account badges" tab, and awarded account wide. I've pushed for such for a while now.
-
Quote:I actually agree with this. If the badges were made less irksome then the level stress they generate among players would make the attitudes I've seen less likely to happen.I do think that maybe the qualifications could be altered some way so that it's less irksome as a whole.
Getting the badge for not being defeated yourself (alone) would nearly eliminate the stress, as you'd only have yourself to blame for not having the badge. -
Quote:Who said it was the entire player base that behaving this way? I certainly didn't.Snow Globe, I've never been on a Mo run myself, and have run normal TF/SF's seldomly. Even so, I can't see why the badge would be to blame, when most of the negativity being noted is clearly due to certain player behavior. Asisnine as that behavior may be, I'm positive that it's not the entire playerbase behaving this way, or I wouldn't be playing this game to begin with.
Yes, and it is the attitudes that the "Master of" badges engender that I believe is bad for the game.Quote:it's still the choice of the person, not the object, that defines which avenue is traveled.
I am not young. I don't want everything handed to me. I am certainly capable of getting the Master badges:Quote:I agree with you but the young folks out there want everything handed to them and want things easy for them.

I am more than willing to put the effort into getting the badges. That does not mean that I can't think that the attitudes that they bring is bad for the game.
This statement is laughable considering how much effort I have put into building the entire "City of" community over the years, and trying to help the badge community specifically. While people might disagree with me, I don't think that anyone that has been around a long time thinks that I am not passionate about helping people either with the game or badges.Quote:Teach some of these new guys that come along for the ride the ropes maybe?
Quote:So tell me, what do you Like or Dislike about the Master of X badges? So first you ask why people dislike the Master of X badges, then when you get an answer you don't like you become insulting? Thanks for proving my point:Quote:How is this anyones problem but yours? What your arguing is that a class of badges is bad because you don't have enough friends to make it easy. Just grow up.
It seems your question in the original post is intended to make you feel good while bashing people that disagree. Good show. -
That is part of the problem. The group I like playing with most of the time is small. We sometimes fill outside the group and then the problems begin.

Quote:Just like I help any of my SG that wants the badges. I've brought the ONE character that has the MSTF badge to nearly every attempt several friends request of me.I want everyone in my coalition who wants it on their badgers to get it, and am happy to work towards that goal for them.
Or like I try to do for anyone wanting any other badge (exploration guide, most GM hunts, task forces). If I'm not committed to something and on, I'll usually help out. -
Quote:I asked around about this on TW 2.0 and they said the same thing, although if anyone is game to try before they put in the green mito fix let me know!Quote:I would be crazy enough to do this also. Although I would need to know the time you are thinking of and hope to be on for it. Shift work is killing my game time....also Diablo II.
I'd be willing, but like I said above, I need to know ahead of time. I'd be bringing an Illusion/Empathy Controller.Quote:I'm definitely up for it, but only time I can probably make it is this weekend. Rest of the time my nights are taken up by classes as finals are coming and a week from now I'll be visiting MB for a week, so until I'm back and have some more free time will be when I'm available.

Oh, for the person that left the following negative rep:
Quote:Thanks for proving my point about the attitudes people have. Also it is "you're" as in "you are", not "your" as in my possessive problem. Also you didn't sign it, so you made the comment in a cowardly fashion. Good show!I'm starting to think your the problem here.
I've had years (2.5 years since Issue 11 introduced the MSTF badge) to downgrade my opinion of these badges. It is not something that "just happened". With people repping posts like this example, is it any wonder why I dislike these badges? Where is the effort to promote community? At least Panzerwaffen offered me a chance to try to see how he sees the badge. -
Quote:Very likely that we recruit differently. I've had the absolute pleasure of teaming with many of the Fusion Force, but the group I play with tends to be on the opposite end of the spectrum as far as size.I don't get to see the bad attitudes that Snow reports whilst on the same server, buts I am sure that's because we recruit in different ways. Most of the Masters attempts I play are pre-arranged with a majority of the team being SG/Coalition crowd of reliable players.
